Abbie Cornish filmed scenes as the late model Anna Nicole Smith at the West Hollywood LGBTQ Pride Parade in West Hollywood, California, on Sunday for her new film Trust Me, I’m a Doctor.

The 41-year-old Australian native was pictured with costar Kal Penn, 47, during the festive proceedings, recreating a past outing Smith had at a June 12, 2005, Pride Parade.

Cornish donned a silver faux alligator skin dress with open sides in replicating the look just like Smith – who died in 2007 at the age of 39 of an accidental drug overdose. Smith was a featured guest during the 2005 parade.

UTA Independent Film Group is handling domestic rights, and Fortitude International overseeing international.

Pic is based on the memoir of Dr. Sandeep Kapoor (Penn), whose life is turned upside down when he is implicated in the death of his former patient — model, actress, and reality TV star, Anna Nicole Smith. The film takes place at the height of early 2000s tabloid culture and explores the intersection of fame, privacy, self-discovery and politics through the perspective of a man who wound up forced into the spotlight through the court of public opinion.

Take any random film directed by Zack Snyder, and hordes of his fans will probably argue that the theatrical ‘cut’ falls short of capturing the true brilliance of the director. From the much-discussed Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021) to the director’s extended take on Watchmen (2009), the director’s cuts are arguably even more beloved than the theatrical versions.

Although he is now able to release his favorite versions of most of his films thanks to his devoted fan base, Snyder still has one more film he’d like to try. We're starting to think that Zack Snyder feels much the same way, except that his version of conquering the world is more about finding ways to re-release his movies with extra footage attached at all costs.

To be fair, this isn't exactly a new phenomenon for Snyder. His 2004 "Dawn of the Dead" reboot eventually led to an unrated cut down the line and his comic book movie "Watchmen" ended up with several different versions post-release. He pulled the same trick once again with both "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and, most infamously, his "Zack Snyder's Justice League" experiment that resulted in a completely different movie altogether compared to the theatrical cut. He's planning on returning to the exact same well with his two-part "Rebel Moon" epic...

Zack Snyder loves a director’s cut. Most of his movies have received some manner of alternate cut over the years, but there’s still one project he’d like to make a proper director’s cut of — Sucker Punch.

Sucker Punch didn’t receive the best reviews upon release in 2011, but Snyder told Empire that he’d love to “fix” the movie if given the chance. “The only movie I would change is Sucker Punch, because it never really got finished correctly,” Snyder said. “Even the director’s cut is not really the correct cut. It’s really just an extended version. If I had the chance, I would fix that movie.”

Snyder added that he already has everything he requires to assemble a director’s cut of Sucker Punch; all he needs is permission.

Exclusive: Sundance documentary Never Look Away, the directorial debut of actress Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess), has been sold by XYZ to Greenwich Entertainment for all rights in North America, and to Kaleidoscope for all rights in UK.

Both distributors have committed to theatrical releases in the territories. Kaleidoscope will also take over rest of world sales. The film is set to have additional screenings at SXSW this weekend.

Augsberger died suddenly on Monday, November 27, at his home in the Hollywood Hills, members of his family told The Hollywood Reporter.

The German-born and trained attorney was best known as the longtime consultant and North American representative for Herbert Kloiber‘s German mini-major Tele Muenchen Group (Tmg). After Leonine acquired Tmg in 2019, Augsberger continued to advise the company on film projects and acquisitions.

Over more than two decades, Augsberger acquired hundreds of film and TV projects for the German market from producers, sales agents and studios, making him one of the most important figures on the independent scene. Augsberger’s high profile media clients included Germany’s Leonine Studios. Prior to Leonine, Augsberger served for more than two decades as an advisor to the Tele Muenchen Group (Tmg) as their exclusive North American representative in the U.S. During this time he oversaw Tmg investments in the U.S., including a preferred equity investment in Lionsgate Entertainment in 1999 and the acquisition of the Mutual Film Library in 2006.

Before Zack Snyder turned his sights to the DC Universe, he gave us Sucker Punch, a psychological fantasy action movie that was his first film based on an original concept. While the film was a box office and critical disappointment, it has developed a cult following over the years who have grown to appreciate the over-the-top fantasy, but Snyder believes he didn’t go far enough.

“Sucker Punch is probably the most obvious example of straightforward, pure satire that I’ve made,” Zack Snyder told Total Film. “And I still think I didn’t go far enough, because a lot of people thought that it was just a movie about scantily clad girls dancing around in a brothel. I’m like, ‘Really? Did you see Watchmen? That film is completely a superhero deconstruction from the drop, which is all Alan Moore. That’s the thing I’ve found really interesting and motivating throughout my career.

Zack Snyder’s surreal film Sucker Punch has had an extended Blu-ray version released. But the director has raised fanboy and fangirl hopes by stating in a recent interview that we ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

The Blu-ray added 18 minutes to the theatrical version, but Snyder has stated that it wasn’t his version and there are still a lot of things viewers haven’t been able to enjoy from the film.

As with his much-clamored-for director’s cut on Justice League, fans hold out hope that someday, they may get the complete vision.

Zack Snyder recently joined the IFC Center (via Letterboxd) for an interview about “Sucker Punch,” his hugely divisive 2011 fantasy action movie that was a box office bomb for Warner Bros. with just $89 million grossed worldwide. The film, which was notable at the time for being Snyder’s first original concept, stars Emily Browning as Babydoll, a young woman committed to a mental institution whose fantastical imagination creates a dream heist for her to escape imprisonment. Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung, Carla Gugino and Oscar Isaac co-starred.

We can all agree upon the fact that among all the seasons of Prime Video’s Jack Ryan, the current one has the most intricate plot, with layers and layers of storylines stacking on top of each other. And it is fascinating how the show actually managed to pull things off and run everything through the same blender to get the juice out of it. With all the core main characters returning, including Abbie Cornish’s Doctor Cathy Mueller, who was last seen in the first season, a lot of new characters were also introduced in this season in order to move around the plot. While Michael Pea’s flamboyant CIA operative Domingo Chavez and Louis Ozawa’s cool-as-a-cucumber Triad boss Chao Fah were the standouts, one other character also managed to leave a mark: Walter, aka William Tuttle.

In the official trailer for the long-awaited fourth-and-final season of “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan”, released today by Prime Video, viewers see the new CIA Acting Deputy Director commissioning all the help he can get.

In order to complete his final mission, he goes as far as recruiting “the deadliest operator the CIA’s ever employed” — Domingo Chavez (Michael Peña) — who’s “all [Jack’s] got” to “find out who’s behind” an internal corruption.

“This corruption goes way higher than the CIA,” Ryan says in the trailer before assuring Domingo provides “unlimited resources paired with undying hatred.”
