Damien Leone’s Christmas-themed slasher sequel Terrifier 3 was unleashed into movie theaters nationwide beginning last night, opening in approximately 2,000 U.S. locations, with 1,400 of those locations playing a double feature of Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3.

Those locations are reporting a massive Thursday night preview gross of $2.6 million, with Terrifier 3 expanding its reach to 2,514 locations across the U.S. and Canada beginning today!

The future of the Terrifier franchise looks bright. David Howard Thornton, who stars in the slasher series as Art the Clown, recently opened up about what creator Damien Leone has planned for his crazed killer.

Speaking with Screen Rant, Thornton confirmed that Terrifier 4 was happening, although he stressed that the movie was still in very early development. "Oh, I know he hasn't actually started writing the script, per se, but he has definitely written down ideas. He definitely has a lot of ideas, and I know this whole entire time, even before he wrote part 2, we had come up together with where we want to take it for a good ending, we think, for this character," the actor revealed.

We told you yesterday that the very first teaser for Damien Leone’s upcoming Terrifier 3 will be playing only-in-theaters on November 1, attached to Bloody Disgusting and Cineverse’s big screen re-release of last year’s box office hit Terrifier 2. And in a tweet this afternoon, Leone promises that you’ll be getting your money’s worth if you grab yourself a ticket.

Leone tweets, “For those of you speculating that the Terrifier 3 teaser is just gonna be some 20 second gimmick, I assure you it’s a legit teaser/trailer, it’s over 2 minutes long, and you’re gonna f****** love it. Exclusively in theaters November 1st!”

Exclusive: Genre streaming platform Screambox have partnered with horror media brand Bloody Disgusting to acquire all North American rights to completed horror pic Terrifier 2.

The “ultra-gory slasher” will be released stateside this Halloween season before streaming exclusively on the Bloody Disgusting-powered Screambox. We also hear the film will play at multiple prominent genre festivals this year.

From writer-director Damien Leone (All Hallows’ Eve), the sequel welcomes back David Howard Thornton as demonic killer Art the Clown. Following his gruesome demise in the first film, a sinister presence has brought Art back to life to rein terror on the residents of Miles County. On Halloween night, he returns to the unassuming town and sets his sights on fresh prey: a teenage girl and her little brother.

The movie introduces Lauren Lavera as Sienna. Also returning is Samantha Scaffidi who will reprise her role as Victoria Heyes. Horror staple Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp) also makes an appearance.

Yes there are other films we're excited to see in this final Tiff line-up announcement - Alejandro Amenábar's Agora, My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done by Werner Herzog - but let's face it the chance to see John Hillcoat's adaptation of the The Road two months early is just so damn cool that we had to give it top billing here.

Spears would executive produce the series out of her Fairy Zone banner in association with Diamond Park Entertainment, which is run by her manager, Larry Rudolph, and Lisa Falcone. The project is under the supervision of Robb Dalton, president of program development at Twentieth Television, where it will be produced by alternative division Foxlab and an outside company, Zoo Prods. Reps for Spears declined comment late Monday. Being pitched with the pun-style title OnTourage, the series would follow the lives of Spears and her fellow dancers on the European leg of the Onyx Hotel Tour, her steamy concert series. OnTourage is being described as a cross between MTV's The Real World and 1991's Madonna: Truth or Dare. Spears would narrate and even wield a digital camera to chronicle her adventures with her dancers, bodyguards and managers from the tour bus to the stage. OnTourage is being billed as boasting an ensemble cast that features a theme right out of Fox's The Simple Life, with some of the dancers having never ventured out of the United States encountering the European high life. The six-week shoot would produce six episodes that Spears' team would hope to have on the air as early as the summer, presumably providing a boon to the already healthy ticket revenue she is generating. No word on whether any particular network is close to a deal, but the front-running network will have to act fast: Spears' European tour kicks off in London on April 27.
