Exclusive: Danny Trejo and Joel McHale have been unveiled as key supporting cast members of Stimson Snead’s sci-fi comedy Tim Travers & The Time Traveler’s Paradox, which wrapped in Spokane Washington earlier this month.

Guerrilla Rep Media, which is overseeing marketing and distribution, is gearing up to give buyers giving a sneak peek of the feature at the Berlinale’s European Film Market in February.

The feature expands on Snead’s award-winning short of the same name.

Sam Dunning (G.O.D. Tech New World Order) stars as a narcissistic, genius but broke scientist who seeks to solve the paradox of what happens to your past self when a future version travels backwards in time.

His work attracts the attention of the head of a mercenary army played by Machete star Trejo.

Robert Carlyle’s feature film directorial debut, The Legend Of Barney Thomson, is to open the 69th edition of the Festival on June17 , where it will receive its world premiere.

Directed by and starring Carlyle alongside Emma Thompson and Ray Winstone, the Glasgow-set thriller will kick off the 12-day festival at the Festival Theatre Edinburgh.

Actor Robert Carlyle is making his directorial debut on the new horror comedy The Legend of Barney Thomson (formerly The Long Midnight of Barney Thomson), and we have the first image from the set for you. Check it out!

Myriad Pictures announced Tuesday that principal photography has begun in the UK on the darkly humorous film which will star two-time Academy Award winner Emma Thompson (Saving Mr. Banks, Sense and Sensibility), Ray Winstone (Snow White and the Huntsman, The Departed, Hugo), and Carlyle, who will also play the title role.

The script is based on a widely popular series of novels by Douglas Lindsay and was adapted for the screen by BAFTA award-winner Colin McLaren (Donkeys) and Richard Cowan. Myriad Pictures is handling worldwide sales on the film.

In The Legend of Barney Thomson, Carlyle plays the title character, a downtrodden Glaswegian barber who inadvertently stumbles into serial murder, with both absurd and macabre consequences.

Emma Thompson has joined the cast of The Long Midnight of Barney Thomson, which will mark the directorial debut of acclaimed actor Robert Carlyle.

Robert Carlyle himself will take the title role, starring as a troubled Scottish barber who suddenly finds himself wrapped up in a serial murder. The screenplay is adapted from a series of novels by author Douglas Lindsay, written by Richard Cowan and Colin McLaren.

Emma Thompson will play Robert Carlyle's mother, who cheerfully emasculates him at every turn as his darkest fantasies suddenly become a reality. Ray Winstone and Ewen Bremner are also attached to co-star in supporting roles.

The Long Midnight of Barney Thomson is currently being shopped by Myriad at the European Film Market in Berlin. The film itself will be a Canadian/U.K. co-production, and will begin filming later this year under producers John G. Lenic and Kaleena Kiff through their Trinity Works Entertainment banner.
