Pedro Cristiani

Pedro broke into the film industry as author of the hard sci-fi feature MOEBIUS: Best Screenplay at the Huelva Film Festival [Spain] and the Miami Film Festival; FIPRESCI Award at the Vienna Film Festival. His works have been showcased at the Lincoln Film Center and New York University, where he teaches THE LANGUAGE OF DARKNESS: WRITING HORROR FOR THE SCREEN, THE SEARCH FOR CINEMATIC IDENTITY and GUERRILLA FILMMAKING. Pedro's horror short films took over the Festival Circuit winning over 25 International Awards. On 2018, the Marché du Film showcased a Work-In-Progress of DEUS IRAE, his first feature as director. This project was presented at the Stiges Film Festival, where it took top honors as winner of the Sitges Pitchbox. XYZ Films [Mandy, The Raid] acquired the North-American Sales Rights to DEUS IRAE, with the film having its international premiere at the 2024 Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival. It was also part of the Category-A Mar del Plata Film Festival, the European Film Market at the Berlinale, and the Marché du Film at Cannes. In December 2024, the film was released in the United States and Canada through Cineverse on the Amazon and Apple platforms, with an overwhelming response that continues to rise. Pedro's masterclasses on storytelling and new forms of production, and the cinematic subversion of genre films have been part of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival [BIFAN] in South Korea, Ventana Sur in Argentina and Cannes, FilmMarket Hub [Spain] and CineQuaNon Lab [Mexico].
