Duran Duran have announced the release of an exciting new live concert film, Secret Oktober, available exclusively on StagePlayer+ from Friday 25th October, in time for Halloween 2024.

Secret Oktober presents the origin story of Duran Duran’s latest studio album, Danse Macabre. The concert film was recorded at the Encore Theatre at Wynn, Las Vegas, October 31st, 2022. Simon Le Bon, John Taylor, Nick Rhodes and Roger Taylor, in full costume, took to the stage complete with 20-foot high skeletons, tombstones, cobwebs, coffins and ghouls, for a unique, themed set. The ultimate Halloween party ensued.

The concert film includes a parade of rarities and special covers – Duran Duran’s first live performance of ‘Secret Oktober’ since 2011, their first of ‘Love Voodoo’ since 2017, and first of ‘Nightboat’ since 2005. The 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees were announced tonight on American Idol by Ryan Seacrest and 2022 inductee Lionel Richie.

A Tribe Called Quest, Cher, Foreigner, Dave Matthews Band, Kool & the Gang, Mary J. Blige, Peter Frampton, and Ozzy Osbourne were announced as the performers being inducted.

Jimmy Buffett is set to be recognized for his musical excellence. Other inductees include Dionne Warwick, Norman Whitfield, Alexis Korner, John Mayall, MC5, Suzanne de Passe, and Big Mama Thornton.

Nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2024 included Cher, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Dave Matthews Band, Eric B. & Rakim, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Jane’s Addiction, Kool & the Gang, Lenny Kravitz, Oasis, Sinead O’Connor, Ozzy Osbourne, Sade and A Tribe Called Quest.

The 2023 inductees included Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliot, George Michael, Willie Nelson, Rage Against the Machine, and The Spinners.

Richie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022 alongside Pat Benatar (and Neil Giraldo), Duran Duran, Eminem, Eurythmics (Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart), Carly Simon and Dolly Parton.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, established in 1983, is located in Cleveland, Ohio. Artists become eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first record. A committee nominates an artist, and “rock experts” evaluate the nominees and vote on the candidates who are inducted.

Duran Duran throw a virtual monsters’ ball in their video for “Danse Macabre,” the title track of their upcoming album, which comes out just before Halloween on Oct. 27. The music features the return of the band’s former guitarist, Warren Cuccurullo, since he left the group in 2001.

Duran Duran have announced the release of their 16th studio album, Danse Macabre, due out on October 27th via Tape Modern/BMG. With Halloween as its “key theme,” the album not only features a batch of new songs, but also a number of fun guests and several covers, including tunes by Billie Eilish, Talking Heads, The Rolling Stones, and more.

Along with the album announcement, the band has also shared the record’s title track, “Danse Macabre,” as a lead single, with a fittingly spooky video in tow. Watch the new music video below.

Rock Hall nominees Duran Duran appeared on Wednesday’s Late Late Show to deliver a celebratory rendition of “Tonight United” from their 2021 LP Future Past.

The performance was a preview of sorts for the band’s upcoming U.S. tour with Nile Rodgers and Chic, which kicks off this August, including stops at New York’s Madison Square Garden and a three-night stand at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl.

Duran Duran are heading out on the road for a 14-date North American headline tour in support of their 2021 album Future Past.

For eight dates of the trek, including a stop at Madison Square Garden, the band will be joined by guests Nile Rodgers and Chic.

Duran Duran will kick off the tour on August 19 in Welch, Minnesota, with a show at the Treasure Island Amphitheater. Throughout August and September, they will make stops in Chicago, Toronto, Washington, D.C., Fort Worth, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and Phoenix. The tour wraps on Sept.

Duran Duran's Nick Rhodes might not be up on your favorite new DJ or band, but he's Ok with that.

"Now I think I'm fairly discerning with what I listen to," Rhodes told HuffPost in a recent interview. "Because I don't need to particularly listen to something that is brand new unless it's really great. I'm all for any piece of modern music. Someone tells me, 'You've got to listen to this.' I'll always listen."

Keith Chegwin has spoken out about a survey claiming that the '80s was the worst decade of the 20th century.

He argued that the decade created plenty of musical talent and said he was proud of the unusual clothing fashions that dominated the era.

Chegwin told Ds: "People have been knocking the '80s - what's going on, how can they do that?

"In this survey, people said they couldn't stand things like the fashions, the hairstyles and the mullets. TV shows like Dallas, Rainbow, and Timmy Mallet, but in my recollections the '80s were fantastic.

"We produced such great bands like Ultravox and Duran Duran. Then there was the clothes; on Cheggers Plays Pop I couldn't wait to put on my flares and gold jacket . . .
