Exclusive: Yellowjackets co-showrunner and executive producer Jonathan Lisco has signed an overall deal with Warner Bros. Television and HBO Max.
Per Wbd practice, terms were not disclosed; however, Wbtv and HBO Max confirm that it is an exclusive, multi-year pact for Lisco to develop and produce new television projects.
Outside of the agreement, Lisco will continue to consult and EP on Season 4 of Yellowjackets. In addition to his co-showrunner and EP duties, Lisco served as writer and director on the Showtime hit for its first three seasons under an overall with the network, during which the series received ten Emmy nominations—including Best Drama and Best Writing for a Drama Series—the Critics Choice Award for Best Horror Series and a GLAAD Award. It also received nominations from the WGA, Peabody Awards, Gotham Awards, and TCA Awards.

2025 may be nearly half way through, but in the world of TV the year is still young. As such, even though you may feel like the best TV you'll see this year is already behind us as we've headed down to the severed floor for Severance Season 2, stared at our reflection once again in Charlie Brooker's Netflix series Black Mirror, brought out the billy clubs for Disney+ must-see show Daredevil: Born Again, and had our collective socks knocked off by Philip Barantini's Adolescence, we assure you a veritable streaming smorgasbord still lies ahead of us in the coming months.
Yes, we may have just finished collecting our jaw from the flaw after that Andor Season 2 finale, and yes, the second seasons of both The Last Of Us and Doctor Who may have left our heads spinning, but there's still no shortage of returning favourites, fresh franchise offerings, original programming,...

There have been many changes to the Paramount+ subscription since it was first introduced. After all, it was originally called CBS All Access, and then as Paramount took over CBS, the main name was changed.
Well, now there’s another name change, but this time to its top-tier platform. What was once the clunky Paramount+ with Showtime will now change to something a little easier to remember and understand.

Fans usually watch shows based on how good they are, obviously, but when creators make special announcements, it makes them love it even more. From guest appearances to a twist in its plot, maintaining an audience is vital and not easy. Yellowjackets co-creator Ashley Lyle has done an amazing job sharing updates and fun behind-the-scenes news about the series that premiered on Showtime in 2021. In 2023, Lyle revealed that there was a special bonus episode of Yellowjackets, but a year later, she told fans that they'd have to "wait a bit longer" for the treat. They aren't the only ones eager to see the special episode — the show's star, Melanie Lynskey, is too.
Lynskey plays the adult Shauna Sadecki (Sophie Nélisse is the teenage version of the character), and during an interview with EW's The Awardist Podcast, revealed that her husband, Jason Ritter, filmed an episode of the series that hasn't aired.

Another season of one of TV’s most acclaimed horror series is heading to Netflix. Yes, we're talking about Showtime’s hit, Yellowjackets. But don’t expect the newest season. That one remains exclusive to Paramount+, at least for now. It'll be the show's second season, which features one of the show's most shocking and heartbreaking deaths.
Back in October 2024, Netflix added the first season of the popular horror show to its platform. Now, the streaming giant has secured the streaming rights for another season. It has set the Yellowjackets season 2 release date for Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

"I took a bite from Hilary Swank, and it was delicious," says Melanie Lynskey. "It was mashed up strawberries and sugar."
That’s how Lynskey summed up one of the most memorable scenes from Season 3 of Yellowjackets at a recent panel at the Newport Beach TV Festival, where the cast received the award for Outstanding Drama Ensemble. Lynskey, who plays adult Shauna on the Showtime drama, was joined by Christina Ricci (adult Misty) and Samantha Hanratty (teen Misty) for a Q&a moderated by Gold Derby’s editor-in-chief.
The cast also discussed the one question they would ask the showrunners, the deaths that shocked them the most, and who’s going to be left standing at the end. Listen to the full Q&a on Awards Magnet below.

Season 3 of Yellowjackets was pretty hard on fans. Showrunners Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson weren't afraid of raising the body count as the season progressed, and by the end of it, several main cast members had been killed off. We know how it felt on our end, but what about what the actors felt? During an interview at the Newport Beach TV Fest and before the Yellowjackets panel, Samantha Hanratty (who plays teen Misty) talked to Collider about how she felt while filming all those shocking deaths.
Hanratty told Collider's Aidan Kelley that, behind the scenes, the biggest challenge for her was filming Season 3 while pregnant with her first child (the pregnancy was not written into the series). She also shared the death that was the hardest to deal with, and it's no surprise that it was one of her most frequent scene partners.
"I think all of the deaths have been very intense.

Well, get ready everyone. The series has been renewed and Yellowjackets season 4 is officially happening!
This is good news after the events of the season 3 finale, which we'll get to in a moment. According to TVLine, the last episode of the third season was the most-streamed one of the show ever. For the last month, fans of the Showtime series Yellowjackets (read our review of season 2 Here) have been waiting to hear news on whether or not the show will continue, following the April 13th finale of the third season. Now, we have the answer – and that is, yes, of course, Yellowjackets is getting a season 4. As Deadline reports, the renewal was a no-brainer because the season 3 finale was “the most-streamed Yellowjackets episode in series history with 3 million global viewers in seven days across linear and streaming on Paramount+ with Showtime.” Parent company Paramount Global also reports that season 3 was the series’ most-watched to date, as well as the most engaged on social media.
Yellowjackets is described as “equal parts survival epic, horror story, and coming-of-age drama.” The story centers on a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the Ontario wilderness.

With an ensemble cast, Yellowjackets' mystery has often blurred the line between the supernatural and the psychological, as its survivors grapple with various horrors and threats.

'Yellowjackets' Fate Finally Decided After Season 3 Lands Lowest Rotten Tomatoes Score of the Series
The Antler Queen lives on. A month ago, Yellowjackets wrapped Season 3 and left many questions in fans' minds. Fortunately, Showtime has decided that we can continue following the soccer team for another season — the show is officially renewed for Season 4. The release window for the new episodes has not yet been announced. Even though no show is 100% safe these days, the Yellowjackets renewal doesn't come as much of a surprise. The Season 3 finale, "Full Circle," was the show's most-watched episode ever, according to Paramount+, with 3 million viewers. The streaming platform also announced that the latest season of the thriller series ranks among the most watched so far, suggesting that fans are more curious than ever to find out what the heck is going on in the wilderness and what secrets the girls and women are still hiding. The series' Rotten Tomatoes score, however, suggests that, despite the curiosity, fans are...

Season 3 of Yellowjackets is Tawny Cypress' favorite one to date.
"I had a really great scene partner for the whole of the season. It was a joy to work with Lauren Ambrose. We got to tell this beautiful story of love — and a little obsession," Cypress tells Gold Derby. "I think I got to do some really great acting this season. They gave me some really great material, and it was a lot of fun to play Taissa this season. It was the most fun I've had so far."
By the beginning of the Showtime drama's third season, Taissa has completely blown up her life. Having become the first state senator to "impeach herself" before taking office, she has destroyed any chance she had at a political career, and she has alienated her family to the point where her estranged wife, Simone (Rukiya Bernard), will no longer allow Taissa to see their son,...

This article contains spoilers for "Yellowjackets."
If there's one clear hero in "Yellowjackets," it's Natalie "Nat" Scatorccio, as played by Sophie Thatcher as a teenager in the past timeline and Juliette Lewis as an adult in the present timeline. Teen Natalie is the only character on the show who consistently tries to do the right thing, even if this sometimes backfires and makes everything worse. Whereas Tai (Jasmin Savoy Brown and Tawny Cypress), Van (Liv Hewson and Lauren Ambrose), Misty (Samantha Hanratty and Christina Ricci), Lottie (Courtney Eaton and Simone Kessell), and (especially) Shauna (Sophie Nélisse and Melanie Lynskey) have all disappointed us at one time or another, Natalie has stayed brave, kind, and reasonably level-headed.
By the end of season 3, it seems like the group has split into two main factions in the past timeline: one that's far more unbalanced, and Team Resistance, which is made up of everyone else.

Warning: The following contains major spoilers for Season 3 of Yellowjackets.
Yellowjackets has always worn its cannibalism on its sleeve. The series opens with a disturbing sequence in which masked hunters chase a barefoot girl through the snowy woods then string her dead body up to butcher and eat. For two seasons, the teenage survivors of a devastating plane crash have adjusted to life in the mountains of Northern Canada, trying to placate the mysterious entity that seems to guide their collective fates. They have eaten human flesh, but only out of necessity and most deaths thus far have been accidental.
But everything changes in season three.
The premiere episode opens with a pagan ritual that kicks off a season-long arc toward intentional human sacrifice. While audiences have been mostly consumed with the action-packed ‘97 timeline and the newly revealed Antler Queen, an equally ominous plot line hides in the present day story.

[This story contains major spoilers from the season three finale of Yellowjackets, “Full Circle.”]
Yellowjackets has found a new deadly duo.
After the killing spree of season three, the Showtime series ended with a revelatory finale, titled “Full Circle,” that answered both the biggest question of the series (who is Pit Girl?) and the biggest question of the season (who killed Lottie?). Both answers also indicated that Shauna (played by Melanie Lynskey in the present and Sophie Nélisse in the past) perhaps deserves what her surviving friends are now plotting against her in present day.
The wilderness timeline revealed that the girl who savagely died in the pilot of the series is Mari (Alexa Barajas), in a hunt that was sparked by “Antler Queen” Shauna (Nélisse). And the present-day timeline in the survival saga unmasked Shauna’s teenage daughter, Callie (Sarah Desjardins), as the murderer of Yellowjackets survivor Lottie (Simone Kessell). In between those revelations, fellow survivor Van (Lauren Ambrose) died...

The Yellowjackets hive is still buzzing after the explosive season 3 finale. Whether you loved every moment or took issue with some creative choices, one thing is undeniable: the latest season was not only hungrier and bloodier, but also came with a significantly higher body count. We lost many characters we’d grown to admire, yet a shimmer of hope for rescue from the wilderness lingers. Among all the chaos and tragedy, one quietly devastating element accompanied all the events: Misty's grief for Natalie. It was one of the most compelling and emotionally resonant components of the entire season.
Season 3 picks up shortly after the events of the previous season and opens with Natalie’s funeral (Juliette Lewis). One notable absence? Misty (Christina Ricci). Instead of attending, Misty turns to alcohol, especially after visiting Natalie’s storage unit and discovering...

When actors find out they are getting killed off of Yellowjackets, they have a difficult call to make: one to their co-star, Melanie Lynskey. Given the killing spree in season three of the hit Showtime survival series, Lynskey received more than a few calls.
“They know I’m the most emotional one,” she tells The Hollywood Reporter. “So everybody had to break the news to me as though some tragic thing in real life had actually happened.”
The cast of Yellowjackets, which just wrapped its third season, is very close. So close that they throw death parties for one another when a character is killed off the show. The series is about teenagers stranded in the remote wilderness after a plane crash, and the depths they plunge in order to survive, both in the 1996 wilderness timeline and in present day, where Lynskey plays adult survivor Shauna (who...

Um, wow. If you're still left reeling from last week's episode of Yellowjackets season 3 - episode 9, "How the Story Ends" - then so am I. That episode definitely felt like a season finale, but actually we had one more to go. This week's! And it certainly delivered as well. Here's our review and ending explained of season 3 episode 10, "Full Circle," on Paramount+ and Showtime. Spoilers Below.

The number of yellowjackets certainly keeps dwindling in the present, that's for sure. In the aftermath of Van's heartbreaking death, Tai is mad at Shauna and blames her for her death. Uh, yeah. Me too! I'm not sure why Tai buries her in a random spot in the woods. That didn't make sense to me.

The Yellowjackets co-creators had promised answers by the end of the season. They delivered on that with a revelatory season three finale, “Full Circle.”
The Showtime series catapulted itself into the zeitgeist when it launched in 2021 with a captivating pilot about a team of high school soccer players whose plane crashes in the middle of nowhere. The pilot weaved together two timelines with that 1996 crash and the present-day survivors, played by a beloved cast, and there was a killer flash-forward opening of an unidentified girl running for her life, barefoot through snow, who is then impaled and eaten by her friends. This girl became known as “Pit Girl” — her identity speculated about and debated on fan threads for years. Who is this poor girl and how did those teenagers arrive at a place where they hunted their friends for ritual cannibalistic feasts?

After more than 25 years of stewing, Shauna (Melanie Lynskey) snaps — again — in the “Yellowjackets” Season 3 finale.
Following a chaotic reunion with her presumed-dead ex, Melissa (Hilary Swank), that ends with Van (Lauren Ambrose) being fatally stabbed, Shauna parts ways with Taissa (Tawny Cypress) and heads home.
But when Shauna arrives at Chez Sadecki, the house is eerily quiet. Sure enough, she discovers that her husband Jeff (Warren Kole) and daughter Callie (Sarah Desjardins) have packed their things and bolted. Shauna immediately confronts Misty (Christina Ricci), suspecting she may have helped them change their phone numbers, but the bespectacled Yellowjacket denies the accusation.
That’s when the ugly truth sets in: this isn’t Misty’s latest chaotic scheme — Callie and Jeff left all on their own. Though Misty (and...

“Nobody said ‘You’re gonna bite a chunk out of Hillary Swank’s arm’ when they pitched the show to me,” Melanie Lynskey told IndieWire in a recent conversation about “Yellowjackets.” In a season that has seen her character Shauna “finally able to take control of the moment,” that moment in Episode 8 marks a point of no return.

Yellowjacketsstars Lauren Ambrose and Tawny Cypress recently opened up about Season 3's most shocking death. Ambrose recalled how she felt learning that her character, the adult Vanessa "Van" Palmer, would be meeting a tragic end.
"We talked about the strike being over and the business contracting - and they were like, 'And your character's going to die," Ambrose told Vanity Fair. She went on to note all the various traumas that her character had survived up until that point, including a wolf attack and life-threatening illnesses. Yes, Adult Van’s story ends this episode. It’s an all-too-soon development for the beloved character who will be remembered by those who loved her for both her inherent goodness and for her self-sacrificial way out — to save the love of her life, Taissa (played by Tawny Cypress in present day and Jasmin Savoy Brown in the past). The episode began with a vision of younger Van visiting Adult Van while she’s near death from cancer in the hospital. Spoilers: This post contains details about the Yellowjackets, Season 3 episode ‘How the Story Ends’
With one week to go until what’s sure to be a jaw-dropping Season 3 finale of Yellowjackets, the Showtime series has claimed another fan-favorite.
This week’s episode ‘How the Story Ends’ features the devastating death of Lauren Ambrose’s Adult Van, who meets her fate at the hands of her former teammate Melissa (Hilary Swank), following an emotionally fraught season for the character as she struggled to enjoy what life she had left with a terminal cancer diagnosis.
In the Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson-created show’s morbid tradition, Van’s death is marked with a subconscious scene of Ambrose on the plummeting plane with Liv Hewson, who plays the character’s younger counterpart.

Spoiler Alert: This story contains major spoilers for “Yellowjackets” Season 3, Episode 9, titled “How the Story Ends” streaming now on Paramount+ with Showtime.
Lauren Ambrose — who joined the cast of “Yellowjackets” in Season 2 — describes Van as a “survivor.”
Or she was, that is — in the penultimate episode of Season 3, Van is stabbed to death by Melissa (Hilary Swank). Before that, she’d had more than her fair share of near-misses. Season 1 began with teen Van (Liv Hewson) trapped on the burning plane, when it seemed like there was no way to get her out, but she survived, much to the relief of her fellow Yellowjackets. Later that season, Van got attacked by a wolf, and her friends believed her to be dead — they even planned her funeral. As they prepared her funeral pyre, she flickered her eyes and was, in fact, alive. When Ambrose’s adult Van was introduced in Season...
