Steven Soderberg, the director of the Ocean's trilogy, is back to helm another heist movie. But this time things go completely sideways. No Sudden Move will have its world premiere as the Centerpiece Gala feature at the Tribeca film festival on June 18. The Warner Bros. produced film will then stream on HBO Max from July 1. Ahead of its premiere, the first official trailer has been released.

The official plot synopsis reads as follows, "Set in 1954 Detroit, No Sudden Move centers on a group of small-time criminals who are hired to steal what they think is a simple document. When their plan goes horribly wrong, their search for who hired them - and for what ultimate purpose - weaves them through all echelons of the race-torn, rapidly changing city."

No Sudden Move, previously titled Kill Switch, was supposed to start shooting in April of last year but the pandemic played spoilsport...

The trailer is premiering ahead of the film’s Tribeca Film Festival world premiere, occurring on June 18 as the festival’s Centerpiece Gala selection. It was quite the welcome surprise to learn that Steven Soderbergh’s crime drama No Sudden Move would be a late addition to the Tribeca Film Festival and an even better surprise that the film would be arriving in just a few weeks, on July 1 on HBO Max. Now, following a character-filled teaser, the first trailer has landed revealing much more of the story.

The Tribeca Festival said Thursday that Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming crime drama No Sudden Move will have its world premiere as the Centerpiece Gala at this year’s festival, which is set to run June 9-20 as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.

The outdoor premiere will take place June 18 at The Battery in New York City, with the fest saying members of the cast will make an appearance at the live event. It will come after another Warner Bros Pictures movie, In the Heights, is set to open the festival June 9.

Actor and poet Craig muMs Grant, best known for playing Arnold "Poet" Jackson on the HBO prison drama series Oz, has passed away. According to his rep Pam Ellis-Evaneas of the Ellis Talent Group, Grant died on Wednesday, but no cause of death has yet been determined. He was only 52 years old.

"We are heartbroken over the loss of one of the most genuine, caring, loving souls we have ever had the pleasure of representing," the talent agency said in a statement. "Craig was more than our client, he was our dear friend. We all just lost a phenomenal man."

One of Grant's biggest roles was as convicted murderer and drug addict Arnold Jackson on Oz. On the show, the other characters referred to Arnold as "Poet," as he was constantly writing poetry to regale to the other inmates. At one point, Poet had managed to be released from prison,...

Grant died Wednesday, his rep Pam Ellis-Evenas of the Ellis Talent Group said. No cause of death has been determined.

At the time of his death, Grant was shooting a recurring role on the Starz series Hightown in Wilmington, North Carolina, and was set to travel to Atlanta on Monday to wrap a recurring arc on the BET streaming series All the Queen’s Men.

There comes a certain expectation when you see “SyFy Films” at the start of a movie. You expect to see a ridiculous movie with bad acting, an almost non-existent plot, and tons of lousy CGI. Essentially, when you think “SyFy”, you think of movies like Sharknado, Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus, or any other silly-looking monster movie. But then comes along a movie like Hover, which is actually a bit of a step-up from what one would expect out of SyFy Films. While its story isn’t necessarily original and some of the CGI sticks out like a sore thumb, it is an admirable film full of good intentions and some interesting ideas.

Syfy Films has debuted a new official trailer for an interesting sci-fi film titled Hover, about a drone-filled future where A.I. drones operate as police to manage the few humans left after a deadly, catastrophic drought. Finally, we have the one of the first ever films about evil drones! Well, there's probably been a few others, but now they've made a cheesy Syfy one about bad police drones in a dystopian future. Hover stars Cleopatra Coleman, who also wrote the screenplay, and features Shane Coffey, Craig muMs Grant, Fabianne Therese, Rhoda Griffis, Leo Fitzpatrick, Beth Grant, and Rhonda Johnson Dents. After drawing attention to the festival’s annual Gaming Awards, organizers behind the South by Southwest Film Festival have posted the full, comprehensive lineup, revealing that the likes of Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver and Free Fire, the riotous ensemble thriller from Ben Wheatley, are among those films that will screen for critics and attendees.

Per SXSW 2017‘s website, this year’s showcase will host “84 World Premieres, 11 North American Premieres, and 6 Us Premieres. First-time filmmakers account for 51 films, continuing our tradition of unearthing the emergent talent of tomorrow.” British auteur Ben Wheatley (Kill List, Sightseers, A Field in England) is a regular of the Texas festival, and will be rubbing shoulders with other favorites including Michael Winterbottom, Nacho Vigalondo, Michael Showalter.

Labyrinth Theater Company Artistic Director Mimi O'Donnell, Managing Director Danny Feldman, the award-winning, downtown ensemble, today announced its Fall 2013 season, including 100, a selection of monologues written and performed by Eric Bogosian, and Sunset Baby, new play by Dominique Morisseau.
