Hot off the press, The Office spinoff – The Paper – just released its first trailer. The mockumentary crew that documented the lives of Dunder Mifflin employees is back to film a group of volunteer reporters at a struggling newspaper outlet called Toledo Truth-Teller. Led by Domhnall Gleeson, the new editor-in-chief, his character brings energy and enthusiasm to a group of fresh underdog journalists in hopes of revitalizing the company.
For those of you who haven’t seen the trailer, here you go:
Greg Daniels, the showrunner who adapted BBC’s The Office (Ricky Gervais) for U.S. audiences, is a co-creator, along with Michael Koman (Late Night with Conan O’Brien). They have kept things hush-hush for quite some time, revealing only one still photo of Ned Sampson, the titular character played by Domhnall Gleeson. In an interview with People magazine, Gleeson says:
I don’t think my characters like Michael Scott at all.

King of the Hill is an adult animated comedy series, which was more rooted in reality than its contemporaries, such as The Simpsons and Family Guy. Now that Hulu has revived the show with Season 14, it is time to look back on the funniest episodes from the first thirteen seasons.
Created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, the show aired for over 250 episodes. Set in the fictional city of Arlen, Texas, it revolves around the Hill family. King of the Hill has been praised for its slice-of-life stories about mundane existence with a touch of wry sense of humor.
While some episodes were laugh-out-loud funny, others delivered their humor through subtle satire, awkward silences, and deadpan delivery. Let’s not forget that iconic Matthew McConaughey cameo. Here is a list of the 20 funniest episodes from King of the Hill, ranked from worst to best.

Coming into a company as the new editor-in-chief is challenging, but Ned Sampson (Domhnall Gleeson) is willing to give it the old college try. He doesn’t have the money to pay reporters, so he’s gathered a rag-tag group of volunteers to be the Truth-Teller’s editorial staff. Capturing all the inter-office shenanigans is the crew that filmed Dunder Mifflin’s corporate drama, and they’re just as sneaky in Toledo, Ohio, as they were in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Today’s trailer for The Paper takes us into the heart of Peacock‘s The Office spinoff, with more mockumentary mayhem than an inexperienced group of dimwits obsessed with parkour.
Truth-Teller is a bizarre operation. Although the newspaper has been around for over 100 years, its owner has let it fall to pieces. Oh, did I menation that they also sell toilet paper and seat covers, because what well-oiled machine doesn’t?...

A brand-new comedy series called The Paper is coming soon to Peacock, and it’s already getting people talking, especially fans of The Office. Created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, the show is set in the same universe as The Office and is confirmed to be a spinoff but follows a totally new group of people, this time in a newspaper office instead of a paper company. And yes, the trailer is finally out.
The Paper is a mockumentary sitcom, just like The Office, and takes place in Toledo, Ohio. This time, the documentary crew is focusing on a struggling local newspaper called The Truth Teller. The paper is trying to make a comeback with the help of volunteer reporters. Things don’t go exactly smoothly, of course, and that’s where the comedy comes in.
The show stars Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore, who lead a pretty big and funny cast.

The Office’s Oscar can’t believe he’s found himself back in front of the same documentary team that followed him around for years at Dunder Mifflin, in the official trailer for the sitcom’s spinoff, The Paper.
Reprising his role as the exasperated accountant, Oscar (played by actor Oscar Nunez) wants no part in the crew’s latest project. “Not again. I’m not agreeing to any of this,” he exclaims, storming away from the cameras. “I will make this unusable — fuck. Use that.”
The new show, which premieres Sept.

Peacock has unveiled the first trailer for The Paper, the highly anticipated spinoff to the classic comedy sitcom The Office. Boasting an impressive cast and crew, the streaming series will have high expectations to live up to, but the latest footage seems to indicate that The Paper is already on the right track.
The full trailer for The Paper stars Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina) as the new editor-in-chief of a struggling Midwestern newspaper. The same fictional documentary crew from NBC's The Office is now covering the publication's "underdog" story, which includes a familiar face from the original sitcom. In addition to Gleeson, the cast of The Paper features Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) Chelsea Frei (Poker Face), Melvin Gregg (American Vandal), Gbemisola Ikumelo (A League Of Their Own), Alex Edelman (Just For Us), Ramona Young (Santa Clarita Diet) Tim Key (The Witchfinder) and Oscar Nuñez as Óscar Martínez. When it was announced that "The Office" would get its first major spin-off, a lot of fans of Greg Daniels' beloved sitcom probably rolled their eyes. Even though "The Office" was itself a remake of the British series of the same name co-created by and starring Ricky Gervais, it's still a little jarring that, you know, we're doing this again. By "this," I mean a mockumentary TV series about a place that sells paper in some shape or form set in the office itself. We're getting "The Paper," though, and the first trailer is ... not particularly encouraging.
Here's how the two-minute preview goes, roughly. We learn that a company called Ennervate is responsible for paper products that mostly center around toilets, but it also owns the Toledo Truth Teller, a small Midwestern newspaper that's clearly in a bad place. When Domhnall Gleeson's Ned Sampson arrives as the paper's new editor-in-chief,...

For King of the Hill’s Stephen Root, who voices the titular Hank Hill’s long-time friend and neighbor Bill Dauterive, the decision to come back for a reboot of the Mike Judge and Greg Daniels co-created series 15 years after Fox canceled it was “a no-brainer.”
“Mostly, and it always is with these things, it was about the writing. Is the writing really good? And are these people you want to work with? A big yes to all of that,” he tells The Hollywood Reporter while talking about the animated comedy’s return alongside two of his co-stars. “At that point, it was 13 years of family, and we are one big family. We couldn’t wait to get back with each other.”

The documentary crew that filmed The Office seemingly can’t get enough of paper.
Peacock on Thursday released a trailer for The Paper, a mockumentary set in the same world as The Office (and featuring Oscar Nuñez reprising his role as Oscar Martinez) that finds the crew that filmed Dunder Mifflin taking its cameras to Toledo, Ohio, and following the staff of the Truth-Teller, a newspaper that has been around for more than 100 years but is now apparently an afterthought for its owner, which also sells toilet paper and toilet seat covers.
Into that situation walks Ned Sampson (Domhnall Gleeson), who’s determined to restore the paper to its former glory. He doesn’t have money to pay reporters, however, so he recruits volunteers from the paper’s existing non-editorial staff while the documentary crew follows his efforts — much to Oscar’s dismay. The first trailer for NBC’s spinoff from “The Office,” “The Paper,” shows Domnhall Gleeson’s character Ned Sampson struggling to patch together a failing Midwest newspaper.
“Have you read this paper? How do you think it compares to any other paper?” Chelse Frei says as her character.
“It sucks,” Ned says without hesitation. “But we are going to make it better.”
The newsroom, which is the latest subject to be covered by the same film crew that documented the staffers at Dunder Mifflin Paper Co., is filled with nothing but lazy workers and untrained journalists whose highest level of skill is shown through a report about how much Ben Affleck tipped his driver. Let’s just say, Ned, the writer’s new editor-in-chief, has got his work printed out for him.
“My name is Ned Sampson, I am your new editor-in-chief,” Sampson tells the newsroom on his first day.

Greg Daniels must really have missed cubicles: “The Office” creator is back with a documentary-style sitcom spinoff series, titled “The Paper,” that reunites him with a slew of “Office” alums. The Office is opening a new location. Sort of.
Peacock has just released the trailer for The Paper, a new series from The Office creators Greg Daniels and Michael Koman that will serve as something of a sequel to the classic Emmy-winning NBC sitcom.
What's it about?
The show marks a return to the mockumentary format that made The Office, starring Steve Carell, an Emmy-winning staple, and cleverly ties into The Office universe without rehashing old ground. As Peacock previously revealed during NBC’s Upfront presentation, the series follows the documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch as they uncover a new subject: a historic Midwestern newspaper and the determined publisher trying to revive it.
Who's in the cast?
That publisher is played by Domhnall Gleeson, leading an ensemble that includes Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, Tim Key, and Oscar Nuñez,...

Upload‘s final season is upon us as we gear up for the show’s latest chapter at Prime Video, and the stars were on site at the TV Insider and TV Guide Magazine studio at San Diego Comic-Con to tease what’s next. Robbie Amell, who plays protagonist Nathan Brown, was joined on the studio couch by costars Allegra Edwards (Ingrid), Andy Allo (Nathan’s “angel” Nora), and Kevin Bigley (lovable Luke) as they get ready for fans to experience the last four episodes of the series when they drop on Prime Video beginning Monday, August 25. For those who don’t know, the comedy hailing from creator Greg Daniels (The Office) follows Nathan, a man who finds himself “uploaded” to a digital afterlife following an accident. In Season 3, there was double the Nathan after a copy of him remained at Lakeview, the digital afterlife landscape he’d been dropped into,...

Despite the strong views held by its characters and the occasional appearance from a real-life Texan politician, King of the Hill isn’t a particularly political comedy — that is, unless you’re a government spook working for Big Peanut.
In the recently released Hulu revival season, King of the Hill (sometimes awkwardly) side-steps the trap of falling into one side or another in the culture wars that have taken over comedy in 2025. While Hank Hill and the citizens of Arlen, Texas generally hold old-school Republican views on the role of government in the individual’s daily life, even in the original series, Hank was never so inflexible with his beliefs that he couldn’t occasionally agree with the other side, and the reboot has, so far, been no different. [Editor’s note: This interview contains minor spoilers for Season 14 of “King of the Hill.”]
For almost 15 years, “King of the Hill” was one of the most reliably funny and consistently comforting shows on network television. Mike Judge and Greg Daniels’ animated sitcom managed a tricky balancing act: Its protagonist, the old-fashioned traditionalist Republican Hank Hill (Mike Judge), maintained politics out of date with a changing culture, and with views often more conservative than many of the writers on the show’s staff.
But the series also admired Hank’s positive attributes — his work ethic, his fundamental decency — never reducing him to a one-note stereotype. In many ways, the show had its cake and ate it, too. It was a lightly satirical portrait of conservative America that conservative viewers themselves could enjoy, a series that treated its characters — from the strait-laced Hank to the conspiracy-theory-spouting Dale Gribble (Johnny Hardwick) — as both objects of laughter and endearingly lovable despite their flaws.

King of the Hillvoice star Toby Huss explains exactly what the reboot is all about.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Huss, who previously voiced fan-favorite characters such as Kah Souphanousinphone and returned to take over the role of Dale Gribble for the late Johnny Hardwick in the King of the Hill revival series, touched on the "common thread" that runs through each character in the series. "And this [reboot] is about going back and revisiting these people, and letting them sit in your life for half an hour at a time, and I think that’s a really special treat to give people," Huss added.
Co-created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, King of the Hill originally appeared on Fox back in 1997 and amassed a whopping 259 episodes across its first thirteen seasons. The series largely revolves around the members of the Hill family of the fictional suburban town of Arlen, Texas.

Hulu’s King of the Hill revival is all set to bring back the animated series created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, but with one major twist that has made the show better. Instead of Bobby Hill being just a comic sidekick, he is now a central figure in the story and has much more of a story arc. This better reflects the evolving personality of Bobby and taps into his potential while giving him more of an emotional depth.
The original animated series followed the antics of the propane salesman, Hank Hill, and his quirky family set in Arlen. It originally aired from 1997 to 2010 and the life of Hank Hill and his Texan family captivated many. But many viewers felt that Bobby had no real depth as a character and was almost always shown as a comic relief. He was depicted as a whimsical, pudgy preteen whose interests in magic,...

It’s ironic that, despite their importance to the adult animated comedy genre, the Fox Broadcasting Company doesn’t know a good show when it kicks them in the ass.
Back in 2008, Fox made a series of controversial moves regarding the direction of their animated comedy strategy around the same time that raised eyebrows. Fox abruptly announced that it was ending Mike Judge and Greg Daniels’ beloved series King of the Hill following the show’s 13th season, right before the network revealed that it had greenlit a Family Guy spin-off series called The Cleveland Show, which would fill the vacant timeslot that the King of the Hill cancellation conveniently opened up. The Cleveland Show would go on to run for four seasons amidst mixed reviews, and King of the Hill rode off into the sunset, seemingly for good.

The Hill Family is back on Hulu, but not every neighbor in Arlen made it to 2025.
Hulu just released the first season of its King of the Hill revival series, and the new season has already cemented its status as one of the greatest sitcom nostalgia reboots of all time, which is an admittedly manageable hurdle to clear when considering the competition. With the new King of the Hill, creators Mike Judge, Greg Daniels and their writing staff made the brilliant and ambitious move to break free from the show’s floating timeline that kept Bobby Hill and his friends stuck in permanent pre-pubescence for 13 seasons, instead choosing to address a roughly decade-long in-universe time-jump between the previous series finale and the present day by turning Bobby into a career-oriented adult and his parents into antsy retirees.

After a 15-year wait, it’s time to dust off your favorite draft beer and break out the grill retrofitted with propane and propane accessories because King of the Hill is back.
The Emmy-winning series created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels picks up several years after we last saw the Hill family. Hank (Judge) and Peggy Hill (Kathy Najimy) are now retired and return to a more modern Arlen, Texas, after years of working in Saudi Arabia. Their son Bobby (Pamela Adlon) is 21 and living his best life while navigating adulthood as a Japanese-German fusion cuisine chef in Dallas. The Hills’ friends — conspiracy theorist Dale (Johnny Hardwick/Toby Huss), bumbling barber Bill (Stephen Root), fast-talking Boomhauer (Judge), new neighbor Brian Robertson (Keith David), perfectionist Minh (Lauren Tom), news anchor Nancy (Ashley Gardner) and Bobby’s friend Connie (Tom) — also make appearances as they help their friends process the changing world.

‘King of the Hill’ Cast and Crew Tease That Time-Jump – and Which Character Is ‘Not Extreme Anymore’
It’s been 15 years since fans were last blessed with a new episode of “King of the Hill” — but time has kept on trucking for the good people of Arlen, Texas, the same as it has in real life.
Mike Judge and Greg Daniels’ animated sitcom returned with Season 14 on Monday, complete with a time jump that sees Peggy and Hank Hill returning from a propane job in Saudi Arabia to find Bobby as a 20-something chef in Dallas. Ahead of the premiere, showrunner Saladin K. Patterson and voice actors Stephen Root, Toby Huss and Lauren Tom opened up to TheWrap about why 2025 is the right time to bring the beloved series back.
“I think people really need it. I think it’s just perfect timing, because the world is so crazy right now,” Tom said. “I’ve heard from many fans that we are a bit of a comfort show for them,...

Spoilers ahead for all of King of the Hill season 14!
King of the Hill has returned after a 15-year hiatus, and one storyline has been defended by the showrunner. King of the Hill season 14 picks up years after the original series finale and features older versions of the characters. Hank and Peggy return to their home in Arlen, TX, from Saudi Arabia, where Hank was selling propane and propane accessories.
In an interview with TVLine, showrunner Saladin Patterson details exploring Bobby's sex life in the premiere episode. He notes that he and series creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels all have children in their 20s and that part of parenting is adjusting to seeing their "own kids in adult situations." Bobby accidentally calls his mother during sex, which Peggy hears and assumes Bobby is eating something.
We went back and forth about how much we wanted to push the envelope in that first episode.

Hank and Peggy Hill’s return to Arlen, Texas isn’t going well. After a decade working in Saudi Arabia, the now-retired “King of the Hill” couple doesn’t recognize America anymore. The stores in the airport are unfamiliar. The bathrooms are “all-gender.” Worst of all, there are billboards advertising Kansas City-style barbecue — in Texas! (The mere sight of which forces Hank to pull over.)
Such startling changes are more than enough to get these once-proud Americans dreaming of the mock-America built for them overseas. AramCo’s residential housing zone was a folksy green oasis in the vast brown desert — a manufactured suburb so picturesque it may as well have been shipped over from Pleasantville. And maybe it was! AramCo could certainly afford it, just as they can afford to offer Hank a 30 percent raise to come back and work on a new propane project.

The much-belated 14th season of Mike Judge and Greg Daniels’s King of the Hill is that rare TV revival that doesn’t coast on nostalgia or mere reverence. The series picks up more or less where it left off 15 years ago, pushing forward by digging into the quietly ridiculous, deeply familiar rhythms of everyday life in Texas in 2025. It’s still comically dry, character-driven, and capable of shifting, without warning, into moments of low-key profundity.
The series sidesteps the streaming-era trap of many reboots that focus, with forced sentimentality and clunky topicality, on characters who are out of step with modern sensibilities. Instead, this revival feels casual but considered. Life in the fictional Texas town of Arlen remains as unhurried as ever, as does King of the Hill’s gently loping, observational beats, which are attuned to its characters as they are—quirks, contradictions, and all.

In an era of reboots, sequels and seemingly never-ending franchises, the “why now?” of bringing a show like King of the Hill back is “the most important question,” says its new showrunner Saladin K. Patterson.
For the adult animated comedy, which debuted its story about a family living in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas, on Fox in 1997, the “why?” begins at San Francisco Sketch Fest 2017. That’s when co-creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels did a table read of an episode from the original series, which had concluded its 13-season run seven years earlier.
“The fan response was just so strong that they realized there was still an appetite for these characters. People want to know what the characters are doing,” Patterson recalls to The Hollywood Reporter. “There are always memes online, [fans asking], ‘I wonder how Hank Hill will respond to this?’ That’s always a good sign.”

King of the Hill revival show's decision to age up its characters has been addressed by showrunner Saladin Patterson. The original King of the Hill show, created by Greg Daniels and Mike Judge, ran from 1997 to 2009 on Fox, spanning a total of 13 seasons, with four additional episodes aired during first-run syndication in 2010.
Acclaimed for its humor, strong animation, and dysfunctional characters, King of the Hill was a huge hit during its original run, averaging over seven million viewers in its early seasons, and winning two Primetime Emmy Awards. After a 15-year absence, the show was revived in 2025 on streaming platform Hulu, with a time jump.
Per TV Line, Patterson described the idea behind aging the characters and how it felt necessary to allow the show to do something unique and different. Patterson discussed how Judge and Daniels were instrumental in this decision and that it was important to give the characters new life and energy.

Perhaps the most unhinged character on “King of the Hill” during that show’s original run from 1997 to 2009 was pest exterminator and out-there conspiracy theorist Dale Gribble. As originally voiced by the late Johnny Hardwick, Dale’s fringe viewpoints — which frequently centered on government cover-ups and doomsday prepping — were seen as a bit of harmless fun.
Cut to 2025, and “King of the Hill” is back on television for a long-awaited Season 14 on Hulu. A lot has changed, and perhaps most notably, Dale’s views are now more mainstream than many would care to admit.
“Nationally, we’ve made a turn towards Dale,” says Toby Huss, who took over as the voice of the character in Episode 7 of the new season, following Hardwick’s death. “I hope we’re all Ok with that.”
Of course, in its early-21st-century run on Fox, “King of the Hill” was never an overtly political show.

The Season Six premiere of King of the Hill is a work of art. In “Bobby Goes Nuts,” Bobby Hill joins a women’s self-defense class and learns how to kick a man below the belt. From there, Bobby goes wild with his newfound ability, kicking several people — including his own father — in the balls. The iconic episode is also famous for Bobby’s battle cry, “That’s my purse, I don’t know you!”
Norm Hiscock wrote “Bobby Goes Nuts” as well as 10 other episodes of the show’s original incarnation. Hiscock also happens to be the only veteran King of the Hill scribe to return for the reboot. He wrote “The Beer Story,” in which Hank and Bobby compete against each other in a home-brewing competition, and co-wrote “Bobby Gets Grilled,” in which Hank discovers Bobby doesn’t use propane for the grill in his restaurant. In the original version of Arlen, Texas, change was slow-to-nonexistent — but that was before they had a significant vay-gan community.
After a 15-year hiatus, King of the Hill is back with a new season on Hulu that aged-up its iconic characters in a bold and unusual departure from the show’s original floating timeline. Rather than transport the Hill family and their neighbors into the present day without addressing the decade-and-a-half break between seasons, Mike Judge, Greg Daniels and their writers decided to allow their characters to age and mature to the point where Bobby is a 21-year-old head chef at his own (partially owned) restaurant, Hank and Peggy are retirees fresh off an extended stay in Saudi Arabia and Dale Gribble is… well, still Dale.

Before the legacy revival of "King of the Hill" hit the Hulu streaming waves, the hit animated sitcom from Mike Judge and Greg Daniels had been off the air for 15 years. Despite ending during the early years of the Obama administration, the series' themes feel strikingly relevant even today. "King of the Hill" took a satirical yet heartfelt look at American life through the lens of the Hill family; patriarch Hank Hill (voiced by Judge), a propane salesman with strong principles, lives with his multi-talented wife Peggy (Kathy Najimy), who works as a substitute teacher (among many other things), their eccentric and sensitive son Bobby (Pamela Adlon), their naïve niece Luanne (the late Brittany Murphy), and the rest of the denizens of the fictional Texas town of Arlen.
Often written off as just another show poking fun at Southern stereotypes, "King of the Hill" is much deeper than it appears.

It’s been eight years since the first official report of a King of the Hill revival. Now, the wait is finally over. As of today, the king — that is, Hank Hill — has returned.
Both he and the show haven’t missed a beat either. The revival gives off the same slice-of-life vibes as the original, but also finds enough new material to make exploring the updated status quo worthwhile. This mix of new and old is also reflected behind the scenes. The show’s original creators, Greg Daniels and Mike Judge, have returned, while showrunning duties have been handed off to Saladin K. Patterson, the man behind the recent Wonder Years reboot.
I recently spoke to Patterson about remaking King of the Hill for a new generation and world, how Hank functions in the current political climate and the ways the revival navigates the deaths of so many core cast members.

Dust off your propane tanks, folks—King of the Hill Season 14 has officially brought Arlen, Texas, back to TV, and fans old and new are in for one heck of a treat. After more than 15 years off-air, the beloved animated series has returned, promising big laughs, classic Hill family antics, and a nostalgia bomb that hits just right. If you’ve been wondering when it’s out, what’s changed, and where to stream it, you’re in the right place.
King of the Hill Season 14: What’s It About and What’s New?
The iconic Mike Judge and Greg Daniels comedy picks up with the Hill clan and their (questionably) wise neighbors navigating a new era in Arlen. While the classic vibe remains—Hank’s mild-mannered wisdom, Bobby’s quirks, Peggy’s oblivious confidence—Season 14 isn’t just about reliving the old days. The writers cleverly weave in modern themes and self-aware jokes,...

Who could forget the opening scene of "Lost" — in J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof's masterpiece of a pilot episode — where our hero, Jack (Matthew Fox), awakens in a jungle on a seemingly uninhabited island to find the wreckage of his Oceanic flight and its survivors screaming and wandering about in shock? It's one of the most effective, mysterious, and captivating cold opens ever made. But what's a "cold open" exactly?
In television, a cold open is the very first scene of an episode that always appears before the title card (or opening credits) of any given series. It's one of the greatest storytelling tools TV writers have. It can come in many different forms and shapes, taking up usually five to ten minutes to immediately capture the viewer's attention as potently as possible.
Essentially, they serve as teasers, attempting to establish the show's tone, atmosphere, and vibe before we...

King of the Hillshowrunner Saladin Patterson explains why creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels decided now was the time for the series to return.
Speaking to TVLine, Saladin touched on the question of why the creators wanted to bring King of the Hill back on air after so many years, which hinged less on any firm reason and more on their belief in the series as a whole. Saladin recalled Judge and Daniels noting that "If we're going to bring it back, let's do something unique," which led them to picking up years after the original run ended with an adult Bobby and a slightly older Hank and Peggy.
Patterson went on to state that the core characters in King of the Hill are all "experiencing a new phase of life," which gave the creators "a little injection of energy in terms of being excited to revisit these characters." Regarding...

Conan O’Brien — long before he himself became one of America’s favorite hosts — was on staff for three years as a “Saturday Night Live” writer, which he describes as one of the 50-year-old series’ most intense periods.
“I was in that state of mind, and I think [Robert] Smigel and [Bob] Odenkirk and Greg Daniels were like, ‘It’s life or death,'” O’Brien related on his podcast “Conan Needs a Friend” (via Entertainment Weekly). “And it feels like that’s kind of how everyone feels.”
Odenkirk expressed similar feelings in an interview with EW last month. “I was too hard on the show,” he said. “I had a lot of attitude when I got hired there, like, ‘This show could be better, this show could be ‘Monty Python,’ this should be more cutting edge, this should be more dangerous.’ And I was frustrated by it not representing purely my point of view.

Hulu is bringing back the animated classic King of the Hill — and it may look a little different than you remember.
Unlike The Simpsons, where Bart remains a grade-school prankster forever, King of the Hill decided to age up its characters for Hulu’s revival — premiering Monday, Aug. 4 — with Hank and Peggy’s son Bobby all grown up and Hank’s friend Boomhauer sporting a few new wrinkles. (The original Fox run wrapped up back in 2009.) So why did they decide to bring the good people of Arlen into the future?
