The creation of Justified: City Primeval was only possible when prolific director Quentin Tarantino had conversations with lead actor Timothy Olyphant about a spin-off series of the original Justified series. At one point, he wanted to adapt the original 1980 City Primeval novel into a film.

This is how much he resonated with Leonard’s original story, which translated to the love for the show that it was adapted into later. According to co-showrunner Michael Dinner (via IndieWire), Olyphant was working with the director on Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, where they came up with the idea.

Despite his love for the Western genre of entertainment, Tarantino also once expressed how he felt about Taylor Sheridan‘s Yellowstone series, calling it just a soap opera at its core.

Paul Dano is set to write and direct an untitled comedy for Universal Pictures that will see him reunite with “Everything Everywhere All at Once” directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, who will be producers on the project.

Dano worked with the directing duo known as Daniels on the 2016 surreal dramedy “Swiss Army Man,” which Dano starred in opposite Daniel Radcliffe as a man stuck on a deserted island where he befriends a talking corpse. The film was critically acclaimed at Sundance that year and set the foundation for the Daniels’ directing career, eventually leading to their Oscars triumph for “Everything Everywhere All at Once” in 2023.

Kwan and Scheinert will produce the film, which does not have its plot disclosed, with their partner Jonathan Wang through their Playgrounds banner as part of a first look deal with Universal through which the pair are also directing their next feature film set for release next year.

Deadline reports that Paul Dano is set to return to the director’s chair with a new “high-concept, original comedy” for Universal Pictures, which will reunite him with Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, the directing duo known as the Daniels (Everything Everywhere All at Once).

This is a bit of a reunion as Dano starred alongside Daniel Radcliffe in the Daniels’ Swiss Army Man nearly a decade ago. Dano plays a man stranded on a deserted island who has given up all hope of ever making it home again, but everything changes when he befriends a corpse (Radcliffe) who washes ashore.

Veteran Hollywood reporters keep asserting when Matt Reeves will be handing in his script for The Batman Part II, and DC Studios co-chair James Gunn keeps saying they're wrong. But is this a case of where there's smoke, there's fire?

The Wrap first stated that Reeves was handing in his script before Memorial Day, and Gunn debunked that report. Now, Puck has more recently stated that the script would be turned in today, and Gunn said via @Threads, that's not the case.

It's hard to imagine two veteran reporters with solid track records both getting this wrong. Is this a case of Reeves simply not meeting his deadlines? After all, Gunn himself recently stated that he's expecting the script in June, and there are only 7 days left in the month.

Gunn is rebooting the Dcu, but The Batman is not a part of it. The first entry premiered in 2022 to positive reviews, and it takes place in DC's Elseworlds, separate from the Dcu. Speaking toRolling Stone, Gunn clarified the Dcu's connection to The Batman, and also explained why the sequel won't arrive in theaters soon.

The Dcu will get its own Batman in the tentatively titled The Brave and the Bold. Although multiple actors campaigned for the role of the Caped Crusader, including Reacher's Alan Ritchson, so far, there's no actor attached to the project. Brian Wilson, the pioneering co-founder of The Beach Boys and inspiration behind Bill Pohlad's biopic Love & Mercy, has died aged 82. The musician, songwriter, and producer leaves behind a storied legacy defined by musical innovation and creative brilliance, with many of his songs, such as Surfin' USA, Good Vibrations, and God Only Knows, regarded as classics. He also wrote and produced the 1966 Pet Sounds album, which is widely credited as being one of the most influential and groundbreaking records in music history.
