This Golden Age Disney Animated Movie Has a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes
Image
In its storied 100-year history, the House of Mouse has given us some of entertainment's most iconic and timeless animated features. The late 1930s and early 1940s were arguably the company's first Golden Era, as that period also represented the birth of animation as a new feature film medium. This is the third live action adaptation of an animated movie that Disney has put into development over the past week, following Mulan and Winnie the Pooh. The studio has also announced new live action versions of Dumbo and Beauty and the Beast over the past few months.

The story of Pinocchio originated with author Carlo Collodi's 1883 novel The Adventures of Pinocchio, following a boy made out of wood who ultimately gets his wish to become a real human, but each time he tells a lie, his nose grows longer and longer. Peter Hedges' take on Pinocchio is said to be inspired by the original story, but no specific plot details were given. Director Guillermo del Toro is currently developing his own version of Pinocchio,...

Brett Ratner bringing Snow White back to the big screen The success of this year's Alice in Wonderland has the fairy tale genre hotter than ever and Relativity Media is setting up a brand new version of another classic tale. Deadline New York is reporting that Brett Ratner is setting up a brand new version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, simply titled Snow White.

Melisa Wallack (Meet Bill) wrote the script and it was said that there were still several similarities to the original film, with a young woman being poisoned by the evil witch's apple, there are several updated aspects to the story as well.

"This is not your grandfather's Snow White," Ratner said. "Melisa went back to the 500 year old folk tale and put in some of the things that were missing from Walt Disney's film. His dwarves were miners, and here they are robbers. There...
