We tv’s original docuseries Growing Up Hip Hop is getting an even longer fifth season than expected.

The cable network announced Friday that the upcoming season — which premieres December 5 — will be extended to 13 episodes.

“The Growing Up Hip Hop franchise is a keystone of We tv and we couldn’t be more excited for the Og series to return for its fifth season,” said Marc Juris, President of We tv. “From the beginning, our cast of superstars captured fans’ attention and completely drew us into a world like no other with larger-than-life, yet relatable stories of fame and family.”

Exclusive: Freestyle Digital Media announced today that is has secured the distribution rights to the Steve Sanulis-directed documentary Wasted Talent. The film will debut on demand on November 13.

The film, which also debuted its first trailer (watch above), follows 41-year-old actor Lillo Brancato who made his debut in Robert De Niro’s 1993 directorial debut A Bronx Tale. He went on to star in Renaissance Man, Crimson Tide, and The Sopranos, but Brancato fell from grace after becoming an addict and getting arrested for the murder of NYPD Officer Daniel Enchautegui during a drug excursion gone horribly wrong. Despite being cleared of the murder charge, Brancato still spent more than eight years in prison on an attempted burglary conviction. During his time in prison the actor was finally able to get clean and sober so that now, out from behind bars, he can hopefully pick up where is acting career left off.

Update, 1:59 Pm: “He believed in me when nobody else did,” said Empire co-creator Lee Daniels today of Damon Dash with a promise to defang a $5 million dollar lawsuit the Roc-a-Fella Records co-founder hit the Shadowboxer director with earlier this week.

“I’m happy to give him his money back even though the movie didn’t make money,” Daniels told TMZ on Friday of the $2 million “investment” he says Dash made in his movies when “nobody, not Disney, not Sony, not Tri-Star, not Paramount, not Warner Bros” would put cash out after the Oscar winning success of 2001’s Monster’s Ball.

While Dash has cited the $2 million as loan not an investment, the plaintiff seemed satisfied with the promise, as he made clear in an online response.

Lee Daniels has been slapped with a $5 million lawsuit by Roc-a-Fella Records co-founder Damon Dash, who alleges that Daniels stiffed him out of a producer credit on a biopic about legendary comedian Richard Pryor.

According to the lawsuit, filed Tuesday in New York Supreme Court, as part of a settlement stemming from a previous legal matter, Daniels agreed “to use commercially reasonable efforts” to secure Dash a co-executive producer credit on the Pryor film, as well as to pay Dash 5 percent of Daniels’ back-end compensation from the film.
