Jeff Dawn

As of 2022, I have department headed the make-up departments on over 40 films plus over 300 episodes on several television series. I specialize in action/adventure, futuristic/fantasy, war and period films, including seven with the actor, Dwayne Johnson. Before Arnold Schwarzenegger became Governor, I department headed 19 of Arnold's films. Also worked with action greats, Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone. I'm the 3rd generation make-up artist in my family. Grandfather, Jack Dawn, a make-up artist for over 35 years was the "Director of Make-up" at MGM studios from 1935 to 1950 and responsible for over 100 films, including The Wizard of Oz (1939). My father, Robert Dawn, was a decorated P-38 fighter pilot during WWII. After the war, Robert followed in his fathers footsteps by becoming a make-up artist for the next 35 years. Uncle, Wes Dawn, also worked in the industry as a make-up artist for approximately 35 years. After graduating from Chapman College film school in 2011. Jeff,s son, Patrick Dawn has been working in the Hawaii, LA and Portland film and TV markets. Patrick is the 4th generation filmmaker in the Dawn family.
