Jennifer Aniston ‘Fought’ Studio Over ‘Horrible Bosses’ Wig; Execs Wanted Her to Stay Blonde Otherwise ‘We’re Afraid It Won’t Look Like You’
Image
Jennifer Aniston recently told Vanity Fair during a career retrospective video interview that she battled Warner Bros. to wear a brunette wig in the 2011 comedy “Horrible Bosses.” The studio wanted Aniston on-screen with her iconic blonde locks.

“I fought for that wig. That was not an easy battle,” Aniston said. “I wanted [my character] to look different. The argument from the studio, and I am sorry to call you out, was that ‘we are afraid it won’t look like you.’ That’s kind of the point! I still think it might look like a little bit like me. But I’m glad I fought for it and stuck to my guns.”

Aniston starred in “Horrible Bosses” as Dr. Julia Harris, a sexually aggressive dentist who is harassing her assistant (Charlie Day). The raunchy R-rated comedy, along with 2013’s “We’re the Millers,” was seen as a big change in pace for Aniston...

How Glenn Howerton’s Faulty Tesla Inspired One of ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Most Iconic Episodes
Image
On a 2023 episode of The Always Sunny Podcast, Glenn Howerton shared a story about his Tesla Model X with Rob Mac, Charlie Day and Megan Ganz that would end up inspiring one of Dennis’ most notorious meltdowns.

Like many Tesla drivers, Howerton thought the corresponding app was a “good fail-safe,” explaining that he could use the app to drive his car. This “fail-safe,” however, proved to be anything but. After driving into the dead-zone depths of an L.A. parking garage, Howerton learned the hard way that mobile keys don’t work without cell service.

“There’s gotta be a solution to this, but this is wild,” Howerton remembered thinking of his bricked car and useless phone. “I don’t know what I’m supposed to do here.”

He decided to call it a night, and Ubered home before approaching his electric vehicle with fresh eyes the next morning. But...

A fresh look at Chris Evans in the upcoming movie Honey Don’t! has just been released, giving fans a new glimpse of the 2025 neo-noir dark comedy directed by Ethan Coen. Via Focus Features

‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Just Said That Joe Rogan Smells Like Dogsh*t
Image
In tonight’s new episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, viewers learned that Dennis Reynolds both listens to The Joe Rogan Experience and buys pseudo-scientific products from its sponsors, a revelation that probably deserves its own bullet point in the “Dennis is a serial killer” fan theory.

In “Overage Drinking: A National Concern,” Dennis and Dee get a blast from the past when their would-be prom dates from the Season One episode “Underage Drinking: A National Concern” return to Paddy’s Pub to save their son from falling into the same trap of teenaged partying and unexpected pregnancy that brought them together. Nearly two decades after the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Gang (minus Mac) got roped into the high school drama of a bunch of underaged boozers, Dennis and Dee decide to finish what they started and tempt Tammy and Trey respectively into partaking in some extramarital entertainment with little success.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 17 Episode 6 Review: Overage Drinking: A National Concern
Image
If you’re a dedicated fan, you’re going to love the callbacks in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 17 Episode 6.

But nostalgia aside, overall, it wasn’t very memorable.

Part of it is that the pairings for each storyline were the same as those from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 17 Episode 5. Two episodes in a row with the same dynamics can be a hard sell, as part of the appeal is the unique chemistry among the characters in insane situations.

(Patrick McElhenney/FX)

On top of that, Charlie and Mac’s storyline felt inconsequential. It was pretty clear that their adventure to find Frank was just a setup for the Bachelor crossover in the next two episodes.

The absence of Frank in this episode is very noticeable. While there are episodes where I felt he wasn’t needed, this one definitely required his presence to balance out the flow.

20 Things You Didn’t Know About the ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Series Premiere
Image
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has run for more years than it has seasons, which is largely due to a highly in-demand cast and a global pandemic. And so, despite currently being in its 17th season, the show’s 20th anniversary is actually today.

Back on August 4, 2005, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia premiered on FX with the episode “The Gang Gets Racist.” But that particular episode is only kind of the show’s first episode as creator Rob Mac, who is referred to below as both Mac and McElhenney, depending on the time period, produced a few versions of the show before production on Season One officially got underway.

To properly mark 20 years of Always Sunny, here are 20 things to know about the various iterations of this “first” episode…

1 Before the Gang Got Racist

“The Gang Gets Racist” was the first episode shot by FX after Mac agreed to make...

The Gang Absolutely Loses It in Newly-Resurfaced ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Bloopers
Image
When the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Gang isn’t scheming, scamming, plotting or rubbing things in their enemies’ faces, they still manage to find time for the little things in life — namely, making each other laugh so hard they break character.

Earlier this week, old clips resurfaced on the Always Sunny subreddit, depicting Glenn Howerton, Rob Mac, Charlie Day, Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito reviving the lost art of the blooper reel. A welcome blast from the past in more ways than one — bloopers were always the best part of the show, as any Disney Channel kid can attest — these gags spanned several of Always Sunny’s 17 seasons and included some of its most iconic moments, like Dennis and Mac sitting Charlie down about his cat food habit.

Person uploaded some bloopers. Never seen them before.

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Season 17 Somehow Delivers The Series' Darkest Moment Ever
Image
Hey jabronis, there are big spoilers for season 17 of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" ahead, as well as discussion of suicide.

The long-running sitcom series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has gone to some seriously dark places over the years, with both boundary-pushing jokes and some plain old pitch-black humor. The original series pilot was based around Charlie (Charlie Day) telling Dennis (Glenn Howerton) that he had cancer and Dennis just wanting to go play basketball (elements that eventually ended up in the season 1 episode "Charlie Has Cancer"), so morbid humor has been a part of the series from the beginning. Since then, the gang have both intentionally and inadvertently caused the total destruction of several people's lives and have even probably gotten people killed, but in the season 17 episode "The Gang Goes to a Dog Track," the series goes to arguably its bleakest place yet.

The series has made jokes surrounding suicide before,...

‘Rick and Morty’ Brought in A ‘Lord of the Rings’ Actor for A Throwaway Part in the Season Finale
Image
The Rick and Morty Season Eight finale, “Hot Rick,” capped off a year of spectacular guest stars by bringing in a core Lord of the Rings cast member to play… Rick’s sort-of-girlfriend’s dad?

Last week’s Rick and Morty episode, “Morty Daddy,” brought It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Charlie Day into the Adult Swim sci-fi comedy’s official canon. Following the episode’s premiere, many of the TV comedy watchers who fall in the very large intersection on the Venn diagram of Rick and Morty and Always Sunny fandoms wondered if Dan Harmon’s series would honor the “comedy comes in threes” rule and introduce another member of the Paddy’s Pub Gang into the Rick and Morty universe during tonight’s hotly anticipated finale.

Well, “Hot Rick” didn’t feature Rob Mac, Glenn Howerton or Kaitlin Olson, but it did score an appearance from an...

The It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Star Who Almost Showed Up In The Indiana Jones Franchise
Image
Fxx's record-breaking sitcom "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" continues to leave a significant impact on television. Now celebrating its 20th anniversary, the 17th season following the exploits of the Paddy's Pub gang continues to bring on the laughs, whether it be the ever-decaying nature of their collective lives or perhaps how their toxic antics leave recurring characters worse off. In the case of one of the new season's best episodes, the return of the unnamed lawyer is a showcase of how much of a cancer the gang can really be.

The first season of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" introduced viewers to Charlie Kelly (Charlie Day), Dennis Reynolds (Glenn Howerton), Ronald "Mac" McDonald (Rob Mac), and Deandra "Dee" Reynolds (Kaitlin Olson). Besides being the Bizarro sitcom version of the Fantastic Four, the original four cast members showed some promise in their first season, yet the network warned the team that...

‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Fans Are Heading to the Library in Pursuit of the Show’s Banned Episodes
Image
Roughly five years after several It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia episodes were plucked from streaming platforms for blackface, redface, brownface and other offensive jokes, fans have found a way to watch them anyways — venturing to their public libraries in pursuit of the pulled installments.

“Looking for banned episodes? Head to your local library!” one Redditor captioned a photo of their haul, which consisted of Seasons Eight, Nine and Fourteen, featuring three of the five removed episodes.

Apparently fascinated by the prospects of checking out Always Sunny’s banned installments, several fans flocked to the comments to express their envy, share links to pirating websites and make a whole lot of jokes.

“Did the library video clerk guy recommend Lethal Weapon 6?” wrote one commenter, referencing the show’s penultimate Lethal Weapon episode.

“I’ll be honest, I’m not sure how they talked the local library into displaying those seasons,” added another,...

Before There Was ‘Rob Mac,’ the ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Star Almost Changed His Name to ‘Rob Dumptruck’
Image
The actor formerly known as Rob McElhenney now goes by Rob Mac, but the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star once wished he’d adopted a different moniker earlier in his TV career.

While discussing Tom Cruise’s stage name on an episode of the Always Sunny Podcast, Mac revealed that if he “had a time machine,” he’d choose to go back and change his surname to “Dumptruck.”

The sentiment sparked an echo of “Rob Dumptruck” and a series of compliments from his cohosts. “Ooh, that’s tough,” Glenn Howerton said of the “masculine” name, while Charlie Day touted it as “cool.”

Funnily enough, Mac’s actual name change earlier this summer didn’t go over nearly as well. Shortly before Mac filed to legally change his name, his wife Kaitlin Olson spoke about her husband’s then-potential decision to shave three syllables from his last name, revealing that...

Charlie Day Crashes ‘Rick and Morty’ for the Perfect Trash-Themed Episode
Image
Even in the Rick and Morty universe, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Charlie Day can’t stop himself from burning the trash.

In tonight’s penultimate episode of Rick and Morty Season Eight, “Morty Daddy,” Adult Swim’s flagship series continued its trend of bringing in guest stars from across corporate lines as it introduced Day to the series in his role as Salvatron, the self-aware sentinel robot who digs through Rick’s trash for anything worth saving while vaporizing the rest with lasers. Fans of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia will understand that, for Day, Rick and Morty asking him to play a character that is literally a professional trash-picker and trash-burner is practically typecasting.

The New Episode of ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Turns the Last One’s Best Joke Into A Running Gag
Image
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 17 is shaping up to be the year when the show’s writers put extra emphasis on both continuity and confectioneries.

Last week, the second half of the Always Sunny Season 17 premiere, “Frank Is in a Coma,” featured one of the most emotionally devastating and brutally hilarious plot twists in the sitcom’s long and storied history. Spoilers ahead for any Always Sunny fans who aren’t up-to-date on what may be remembered as the most serialized season thus far. But those of us who have experienced the sublime, fucked-up hilarity of “Frank Is in a Coma” will recall the closing joke of the episode which revealed Frank’s all-time most sadistic prank on Sweet Dee, in which he faked his own death by replacing his body with a lifelike cake just to prove to his not-daughter that Is It Cake? isn’t a stupid show.

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Season 17 Pays Homage To The Bear (And It's Hilarious)
Image
The gang shines once again. It's almost too good to be true to say this, but the "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" guys don't drop the ball even as the FX sitcom approaches its 20th anniversary. Season 17's batch of eight episodes are as outrageous, offensive, and culturally inappropriate as we'd like (and expect) them to be. They hit on several trendy and hot-button topics while also deepening the show's own twisted and malicious universe through the gang's weird obsessions. Today, I specifically want to focus on the third episode, titled "Mac and Dennis Become EMTs," that both pays homage to and ridicules the network's hit drama series, the fantastic "The Bear."

It all starts with the peppers. As one of our favorite idiots, Mac (Rob Mac) points it out early on, "Peppers spice everything up." They certainly do, as we see in the opening scene where two EMTs are...

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Season 17 Brings Its Most Tragic Character To A New Low
Image
This article contains spoilers for "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" season 17, episode 3, "Mac and Dennis Become EMTs."

Sometimes I worry I'm too sensitive to be a fan of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." I shed a tear when I found out poor Charlie (Charlie Day) can't read, and I always wince when the show implies Charlie totally got molested by his Uncle Jack (Andrew Friedman). But it's not just Charlie whose pain I struggle to find the humor in; I also feel bad for those poor souls who've had their lives ruined by the gang over the years, like Cricket (David Hornsby), the Waitress (Mary Elizabeth Ellis), and especially the unnamed Lawyer.

The Lawyer, played Brian Unger, was first introduced in season 3 as a happy, healthy, successful man. He went to Harvard and had a loving wife, but it all went downhill when he was assigned to be the executor...

The Lawyer from ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ on What It’s Like Litigating Against the Gang from Paddy’s Pub
Image
After a nine-year absence, the Lawyer is finally back in tonight’s episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia — and now he’s got an eye patch!

The Lawyer, played by the expertly straight-faced Brian Unger, first appeared in Season Three of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia when Dee and Dennis’ mom dies and the two of them, along with Frank, are called to hear the reading of her will. True to form, Dee, Dennis and Frank all lash out at the Lawyer for what’s included in the will — despite the Lawyer having never met her. The scene is one of the most memorable moments from the show’s early years and highlights a dynamic that always helps the show shine: Whenever The Gang interacts with a regular person, things go poorly.

Since then, the Lawyer has appeared a total of five more times, and with each appearance, his...

Clayface Update Makes Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Batman’ Dcu Standing Even More Bizarre
Image
Robert Pattinson’s The Batman was a sobering experience for everyone involved in how effortlessly beautiful his Dark Knight would look when placed within James Gunn‘s Dcu. As a young, amateur, and budding superhero with his whole arc left untouched, Battinson would be the perfect counter to David Corenswet‘s bright-eyed and optimistic Superman.

But it was not meant to be. One of the first acts from the executive desk of James Gunn after his appointment as the head of DC Studios was to relegate Pattinson’s Batman to an Elseworlds universe. Now, a new Clayface update makes things even more bizarre for DC as the villain effortlessly migrates from The Batman‘s universe to the Dcu with no strings attached whatsoever.

Danny DeVito Confirms Rumor About ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Ultimate Fate
Image
As It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia embarks upon its 17th season, The Gang has repeatedly dropped hints that the end may be nigh for their long-running sitcom. But after Charlie Day’s cryptic quotes to reporters, Glenn Howerton’s reflections on nearly quitting the show and the Rcg Productions vanity card featuring some existential and/or possibly material complaints — “I don’t want to do this anymore, I want someone else to do it,” Howerton said in the reversed clip — Danny DeVito stepped in to set the record straight.

The man behind Frank Reynolds revealed what the future actually has in store for Paddy’s Pub, confirming that The Gang is staying together — at least through Season 18, the last season for which Always Sunny has been formally renewed.

“We’re going to go again next season,” DeVito explained during a recent conversation with Collider. “We just talked about when we’re going to start.

Image
Twenty years is a long time to keep a show running on television, but that is exactly how long it's been since It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia made its debut on FX in 2005. The show has since established itself as the longest-running sitcom on television with sixteen seasons under its belt and Season 17 only recently released. The show's historic run has inspired a new book about itself, with pop-culture journalist Kimberly Potts releasing a book titled It's (Almost) Always Sunny in Philadelphia: How Three Friends Spent $200 to Create the Longest-Running Live-Action Sitcom in History and Help Build a Network. The new book, which was released alongside the show's seventeenth season, which arrived on July 9, looks to unravel the secrets of the show's iconic run.

Potts delves into the sitcom's origins, chronicles its rise, while dissecting what has propelled the FX comedy show to enduring popularity despite the passing years. Ultimately,...

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia actors' concerning comments about show's future
Image
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 17 premiered last week with the first two episodes of the season, including the second Abbott Elementary crossover episode. Of course, it was full of the gang's hilarious and unhinged shenanigans. That means we've got six more episodes to go, and you know we're already thinking about the Fxx comedy's future.

In 2025, Sunny hit its 20-year milestone of being on the air, making it the longest-running American sitcom ever. It's not an easy anniversary to reach in the world of television. Though with their inventive storylines with the characters, us viewers continue to be eager for more. With that being said, actors Charlie Day (Charlie Kelly) and Danny Devito's (Frank Reynolds) recent comments about the series have us a bit nervous.

An Iconic Super Mario Bros. Character Is Getting His Own Movie After Major Development
Image
Two years after The Super Mario Bros. Movie was released and became one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time, Universal may have subtly announced that another project in this beloved Nintendo universe is on the way. The original movie premiered in 2023 and introduced audiences to Mario (Chris Pratt), Luigi (Charlie Day), and countless supporting characters from the Mushroom Kingdom.

With updates on The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2being unfortunately sparse, it seems like Universal Pictures may be focusing its attention elsewhere to expand this universe in a different direction. The studio recently acquired the film copyright for an untitled Donkey Kong movie, which could be the first of several spinoffs in Nintendo's budding movie franchise (via publicrecords.copyright.gov).

What The Donkey Kong Copyright Means For The Super Mario Franchise Donkey Kong May Be The Beginning Of A Large Franchise

While this isn't an official confirmation that a...

Donkey Kong | Copyright filing hints at Universal movie plans
Image
A recent copyright filing suggests that Nintendo and Universal are planning to make a Donkey Kong movie.

Thirty years after its first foray into movie-making, Nintendo hit the box office jackpot with The Super Mario Bros. Movie, a CG-animated adventure about a plumber. Made in collaboration with animation house Illumination and Universal Pictures, the mushroom-encrusted romp made over $1.3bn worldwide, and Nintendo’s plans for further videogame adaptations began in earnest.

One project revealed to be in the works is a movie based on Donkey Kong – the anarchic ape character whose origins stretch back to the 1981 arcade machine of the same name. The film hasn’t been officially announced yet, but a filing at the US Copyright Office suggests that something called ‘Untitled Donkey Kong Project’ is at least in the early planning stages. (This was brought to our attention by Discussing Film on Bluesky.)

Donkey Kong also made an...

Kaitlin Olson Somehow Got This Absurd It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Scene In One Take
Image
Anyone who's ever watched "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" — or, frankly, the ABC procedural "High Potential" — knows exactly how funny Kaitlin Olson is. The actress, who earned fame and acclaim as "Sweet" Dee Reynolds throughout her time on "It's Always Sunny" — the show where she also met her husband Rob Mac, who created the series with co-stars Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day — is preternaturally hilarious, and her sense of comedic timing is second to none. Naturally, this extends to her physical comedy, which is why I'm not surprised that she nailed a tricky season 15 stunt in a single take.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly ahead of the episode, which is appropriately titled "Dee Sinks in a Bog," Olson got right to the point. "We shot an episode this season where Dee sinks in a bog, which I was very excited about, because it sounds hilarious," she told Derek Lawrence.

Movie, the 2023 animated hit that sees Pratt voice the titular character, with Taylor-Joy voicing Princess Peach and Black as the villainous Bowser. The Super Mario Bros. The film earned a “rotten” 59% from critics but a “verified hot” 95% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and it also grossed $1.3 billion at the global box office on a $100 million budget.

American TV's Longest-Running Live-Action Sitcom Ever Made Return With Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
After a two-year wait, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 17 is finally here, and the season appears to be critically acclaimed. The show, which first debuted in August 2005, proved to be a surprise hit, as its dark humor helped the show earn international recognition. It even managed to cross over with the beloved Abbott Elementary recently.

The show is led by a close-knit core cast that includes Glenn Howerton (Dennis), Rob McElhenney (Mac), Charlie Day (Charlie), Kaitlin Olson (Sweet Dee), and Danny DeVito (Frank). As the group runs their bar, Paddy's Pub, they consistently get into ridiculous scenarios that leave them even worse off than when they started.

20 years after the show first premiered, it is back with It's Always Sunny season 17, and the season is already proving to be a strong one. With six reviews already in, this new batch of episodes has obtained the coveted 100% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes.

‘Dexter: Resurrection,’ ‘It’s Always Sunny,’ ‘Drop,’ and the best to stream this weekend: July 11
Image
Welcome to the Gold Ticket, your VIP guide to the best of pop culture for the weekend ahead, curated by the Gold Derby team of experts. (July 11-July 13)

The main stream

Just like Slim Shady, Dexter Morgan's back (back again).

If you're keeping track at home, Dexter: Resurrection is the fourth series about the vigilante serial killer (portrayed by Emmy nominee Michael C. Hall). It's the sequel to the sequel of the original Emmy-winning drama (the fourth series in the popular franchise is a prequel). While we cannot say how Dexter survived a seemingly fatal gunshot wound in 2021's Dexter: New Blood, we're willing to bet the latest series — the first two episodes of which are now streaming on Paramount+ (the show airs Sunday at 8 p.m. Et/Pt on Showtime) — will answer this very question.

On Resurrection, the show's setting is moved to New York, and while there...

‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Future Just Got a Huge Update from Danny DeVito [Exclusive]
Image
Although their characters have committed many crimes during the show’s now 17-season run, the greatest crime of all committed by the uber-talented folks behind It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia was making fans wait a full two years between seasons 16 and 17. But, all of that is water under the bridge now, as the first two episodes ofthe milestone-marking 17th season are streaming on Hulu, and we simply can’t stay mad after laughing for nearly an hour straight. Of course, now that Season 17 has arrived, we can’t help but wonder if the wait between this one and the next will be as long as it was before. A handful of installments were given the greenlight all at once, with 18 being the last one to fall under that umbrella, so we know that the episodes are on the way — it’s just a matter of when.

Luckily, we’ve got...

Aghast ‘Abbott Elementary’ Fans React to Quinta Brunson’s C-Word Shocker in ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: ‘The Gasp I Gasped’
Image
As a second-grade teacher, Abbott Elementary’s Janine Teagues is no stranger to four-letter words. But instead of “read,” “play” or “quiz,” The Gang from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia drove her to add a brand new term to her vocabulary: cunt.

During the second installment of the Abbott Elementary/Always Sunny crossover on Wednesday night, fans were shocked to hear the typically wholesome teacher played by Quinta Brunson resort to dropping the c-bomb while describing her newly-minted archnemesis, Dee Reynolds.

“It wasn’t until I saw the extra footage that I was able to realize just how much of a — I need to say a bad word,” she explained, getting the go-ahead from her on-screen beau and co-worker, Gregory Eddie. “How much of a total fucking cunt she was.”

Sparking immediate confusion from her partner — “I thought you was gonna call her a bitch,” he replied in visible awe...

Is This ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Vanity Card Teasing the End of the Series?
Image
A secret message hidden after the credits of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 17 could be a warning to the fans that the end is nigh – or maybe Brian LeFevre just found out that he has another kid in North Dakota.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is already the longest running live-action sitcom in American TV history, so, twenty minutes into the run, us fans who are still tuning in every week should just count ourselves lucky that FX keeps renewing the show’s contract, and that Danny DeVito is still kicking despite the confectionary trickery of the most recent episode. With Season 17 underway, we only have a few more weeks until another dreaded hiatus drags out the fandom’s discussions about when the Paddy’s Pub Gang will call it quits.

FX has already extended It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia through Season 18, so we know that this year will...

The ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Cast Leaves the Window Cracked for ‘The Nightman Cometh Part 2’
Image
The cast of the greatest musical in Philadelphia community theater history is open to a revival. They just have to figure out the right answer to the timeless question: “Who’s the mark?”

Back on November 20, 2008, FX and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia released an episode of television that was so powerful and inspiring that it pulled the entire United States of America out of its deep slump due to the ongoing financial crisis and taught us to believe in the power of collaboration and the audacity of hope. Unfortunately, idiot savage historians will probably attribute the national mood improvement in late 2008 to the election of President Barack Obama, but Always Sunny fans know that it was “The Nightman Cometh” — and its subsequent stage production tour — that really turned things around for this country.

Today, as domestic strife, international conflict and economic anxiety once again plague our great nation,...

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia & Abbott Elementary Crossover's Most Shocking Moment Explained By Star
Image
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia returned with part 2 of a crossover with Abbott Elementary, and its most shocking moment gets explained by star and executive producer Charlie Day. Both sitcoms take place in the city of Philadelphia, where the first part of the crossover occurred in Abbott Elementary season 4, episode 9, "Volunteers." It's Always Sunny in Philadelphiaseason 17 premiered on July 9 on Fxx.

In an interview with Variety, Day details the most shocking moment of the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 17 premiere with Quinta Brunson's Janine cursing about Dee to the documentary crew. Janie is upset that Dee tried to steal her boyfriend, Gregory, and after pausing to say she needs to say a bad word, she staggeringly describes Dee as a "f---king c--t."

Day notes that for the crossover to be a success, the cast of Abbott Elementary had to fully be in the same world as the It's Always Sunny characters.

Danny DeVito Gets His Greatest Fake-Out In It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Season 17
Image
Hey jabronis, there are spoilers for the latest season of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" ahead.

There are quite a few great running gags woven deep into the lore of the "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" gang, but one of the funniest is Frank's (Danny DeVito) love of a good fake-out. In a move he learned from his scumbag business partner Eugene (David Huddleston), Frank loves to set people up to believe one thing only to reveal that it was all pretend to begin with. There's usually no ulterior motive beyond Frank trying to teach someone a lesson, so it's not quite like Charlie (Charlie Day) or his mom faking cancer. Still, Frank's fake-outs can be just as emotionally devastating.

Fans first learned of the fake-out in the Frank-defining episode "A Very Sunny Christmas" when his assumed children, Dennis (Glenn Howerton) and Dee (Kaitlin Olson), shared a home video from...
