Forget Tron: Legacy, one of my most anticipated sequels to be released this year is the (very) long-awaited sequel to 1982’s The Sword and the Sorceror, Tales of an Ancient Empire.
Directed by Albert Pyun, the film stars Christopher Lambert, Melissa Ordway, Kevin Sorbo, Lee Horsley, Victoria Maurette, and Jennifer Siebel Newsom, and follows a princess (Ordway) on a quest to unite the five greatest warriors to save her kingdom from a demon sorceress. But the odyssey to find them reveals a secret past for all.
It was back at the beginning of April – when I brought you our first look at the poster for Tales of an Ancient Empire – that I mentioned a trailer for the film was imminent. Well it took longer than expected, but here’s the brand new red band trailer for the film, along with the Full synopsis (beware spoilers):

For some the Easter holiday was a time of work, not hunting for chocolate eggs and bunnies, and one such individual is director Albert Pyun, who dropped us a line over the weekend with an update on his Tales of an Ancient Empire along with a batch of new stills.
According to Pyun, "All the shooting is now finished, and here are some new stills. The first is from one of the last shoots with Victoria Maurette ("Kara") and Jessica Delgado ("Levana"). This is a set still and not how the scene looks in the movie, but it's pretty cool. Second is a green screen shot of the three primary assassins after Sorbo and company. It's not composited yet but is still a nice visual. Next is Dernier (Xavier Declie) being seduced by Kara. This is followed by Delgado as Levana, Maurette's Kara being turned, and finally, Maurette in full vampire assassin mode.
