Margaret Colin To Lead Indie Flick ‘Tox’

Exclusive: Margaret Colin (Independence Day) has signed on to lead the indie flick Tox.

Written and directed by Kerri Lynn Miller in her feature directorial debut, the film also stars Gracie McGraw. Miller also stars in the film. Her acting credits include FBI: Most Wanted, The Blacklist, and Shades of Blue.

The film follows a perfection-obsessed woman who, after decades of transforming herself, eagerly returns to her high school reunion— convinced that her newfound beauty will rewrite her past and win the validation she believes will fix her life.

“Tox explores the addictive nature of perfectionism and the devastating grip of body dysmorphia, a condition that affects over 10 million people in the U.S. alone,” Miller said in a statement. “This film is a deeply personal, thrilling, and thought-provoking examination of society’s obsession with beauty, and self-worth.”

In 2022, an announcement was made that Law & Order alum Kelli Giddish would be departing from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (via Variety). Having played the role of Detective Amanda Rollins since 2011, Giddish is a veteran of the franchise, having appeared on all three main shows before landing her breakout role on Svu.

Since its 1990 inception, Law & Order has seen numerous actors appearing in guest starring roles (such as Elizabeth Banks and Bradley Cooper) before catapulting to A-list status. Actors like Kelly Deadmon not only appeared in the three original Law & Order series but have also appeared in Dick Wolf's One Chicago franchise.
