San Diego Comic-Con attendees got a pleasant surprise when the next two characters joining the Marvel Cosmic Invasion roster were revealed, and they're not characters that most fans would expect. Cosmic Invasion is an upcoming retro-style beat 'em up game, similar to arcade games from the 80s and 90s, like Double Dragon and Streets of Fury. The game will feature a total of 15 playable characters, and now, 11 have been confirmed.

According to a post from PR Agency Indigo Pearl, the next two characters joining Marvel Cosmic Invasion's roster are The Silver Surfer and Beta Ray Bill. The announcement was made by the game's developer and publisher at the event, along with a new trailer.

Disney Xd's Guardians of the Galaxy animated series falls short of expectations with repetitive storylines and odd animation choices. The Thing, Lockjaw and Zola will debut on Marvel's Spidey and His Amazing Friends before the end of the second season of the Disney Junior animated series.

Cbr can exclusively reveal the first look at the three Marvel Comics characters in Spidey and His Amazing Friends, which is the first full-length Marvel series for preschoolers. The Thing, who hasn't been seen in kids animation in a decade, will be voiced by Andy Milder. Dee Bradley Baker will voice Ms. Marvel's teleporting dog, Lockjaw, while the power-hungry robot supervillain Zola will be voiced by Trevor Devall. The upcoming DC animated film Justice League: Warworld has received an R rating from the MPA.

According to Bloody Disgusting, Justice League: Warworld has officially been rated R for "some bloody violence." This makes it the second film in DC and Warner Bros. Animation's "Tomorrowverse" to carry an R rating, following 2021's Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two. Warworld was initially announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. The film's voice cast was announced just a few days ago, the headliners being Jensen Ackles as Batman/Officer Wayne, Stana Katic as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince and Darren Criss as Superman/Agent Kent.

The first trailer for Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales has been released by Disney ahead of the Halloween special's launch on Disney+ on October 1st. The new addition to the Lego Star Wars canon, which last year provided a Christmas themed offering, will see the comedy of Lego's animated output taking on the dark side of the Force...both literally and metaphorically. Star Wars is getting a Lego Halloween special just in time for the spooky holiday this year. On Oct. 1, the new special Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales will be released exclusively on the streaming service Disney+, continuing the collaboration between Lucasfilm and the Lego Group. The special, which includes Tony Hale and Christian Slater, also had its official key art released by Disney, and you can take a look at it below.

Disney Plus announced that Tony Hale and Christian Slater have joined “Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales” alongside a returning lineup of voice cast regulars.

The animated Halloween special, premiering Oct. 1, follows Poe and Bb-8 on the volcanic planet Mustafar, where they meet the greedy Graballa the Hutt, who has purchased Darth Vader’s castle and is transforming it into the galaxy’s first all-inclusive Sith-inspired luxury hotel.

The voice cast includes Jake Green as Poe Dameron, Raphael Alejandro as Dean, Dana Snyder as Graballa the Hutt, Tony Hale as Vaneé, Christian Slater as Ren, Trevor Devall as Emperor Palpatine, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn as Ni-L8 and Matt Sloan as Darth Vader.

Writer David Shayne executive produces with James Waugh, Josh Rimes, Jacqui Lopez, Jill Wilfert, Keith Malone and Jason Cosler, while Ken Cunningham directs. “Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales” is a produced by Lucasfilm and Lego in collaboration with Atomic Cartoons.

When his estranged father comes back into his life after not speaking for 18 years, he starts to realize that they have a lot more in common than he’d like to admit. Meanwhile, Sue is pursuing New Age pregnancy support and the Murphy children are trying out new personas.

The animated series returns for more family fun on June 12.

We’ve got a cool sneak peak trailer for you today for the new animated series Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout coming to Disney Xd.

The series is described as follows: “the ‘Black Vortex’ storyline will see the Guardians escape the Collector's collapsing ship by jumping into a mirror that serves as a prison dimension capable of taking on any form. Upon crossing time and dimensions, the Guardians will wind up separated and trapped in strange, new worlds. Each of these worlds will be brought to life using a different animation technique, including CG-stop motion, children's book illustration, 8-bit, motion comic, Golden Age and traditional CG.”

That sounds fine, but you really have to see the trailer to fully appreciate how cool and different the animation looks in the show. The characters will be voiced by Will Friedle as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Trevor Devall as Rocket Raccoon,...

One of the smarter moves the DC Animated Universe did was begin to build interlocking storylines, characters, and voice artists. This has allowed them to build off previous events and let the status quo consistently evolve rather than feel static. (Amazing animation can do this far more easily and effectively than the film division.)

As a result, we are now emotionally invested in this incarnation of the classic heroes and villains, which allowed the redone Death of Superman film in 2018 work so well. This also paved the way for the sequel, Reign of the Supermen, which has received quite the promotional bump.

Out on home video today from Warner Home Entertainment, the 87-minute adventure rarely lets up and is more satisfying than previous installments. While it takes the name from the 1993 storylines that followed the Man of Steel’s death, it bears little resemblance. This is wholly set in the...
