(1993) Ajay Devgan signed Rajeev Kumar's "Guru Chela" to be directed by David Dhawan. Starring Mithun Chakraborthy, Ajay Devgan,Meenakshi Sheshadri .The film was canceled when Rajeev and David had some personal problems with each other. David received a offer to direct a bigger film and lost interest. He told the producer a false story. That Ajay Devgan did not want to do the film. Ajay heard this and got angry and chased David out of the studio with a stick. Later the film was altered and made as "Jung".

(1996) Was directing the shelved film "Dus Numbri"(1996) Starring Akshay Kumar, Manisha Koirala, Monica Bedi, Directed by David Dhawan.

(1992) In November, Govinda, Divya Bharti and David Dhawan were signed for Mukesh Duggal's "Khilona". The film was eventually made with Aditya Pancholi, Ayub Khan, Monica Bedi and Deepak Pawar.

(1994) Nandu Tolani and David Dhawan had launched a film titled "Joru Ka Ghulam" . Starring Anil Kapoor, Govinda and Tabu. The film got shelved due to constant problems between Anil and Govinda. Their other film Deewana Mastana was already seeing constant delays due to this.

(1996) Jackie Shroff signed Nana Patekar and Govinda for a film to be directed by David Dhawan. Jackie was only going to produce the film and not act in it. The film got shelved.

(1996) Was directing Jackie Shroff Entertainment's shelved film, "Raju Raja Ram". Starring Jackie Shroff, Govinda, Salman Khan, Manisha Koirala, Rakesh Bedi. Produced by Jackie Shroff , Avinash Adik, Prakash Jaju. Music by Anu Malik. Directed by David Dhawan. This was in 1997. The film was finally made as Tom Dick and Harry in 2006.

(2009) Was directing the shelved film UTV's "Hook Ya Crook". Starring John Abraham,Genelia D'Souza, Shreyas Talpade (Replaced Uday Chopra),Amrita Rao, Sharad Kapoor, Kay Kay Menon, Mahendra S. Dhoni,Written by Rensil Dsilva, Music by Pritam, Produced by Ronnie Screwala, Directed by David Dhawan. The film was a remake of The Longest Yard.
