Kate Winslet’s Intense Scene In ‘Little Children’ Left Her Covered In ‘Lots of Bruises,’ Co-Star Reveals!

Kate Winslet’s Intense In ‘Little Children’ ( Photo Credit – YouTube )

Kate Winslet didn’t walk away unscathed from the infamous laundry room tryst with Patrick Wilson in Little Children as her co-star revealed the steamy scene left her with more than just cinematic memories—it left with “lots of bruises.”

The Story Behind Little Children

Released in 2006, Winslet and Wilson starred in the adaptation of Tom Perrotta’s novel, playing two suburban parents entangled in a forbidden romance. Winslet’s character, Sarah Pierce, is an unfulfilled housewife who embarks on an affair with Brad Adamson, played by Wilson, after their kids’ playdates lead to something far more illicit.

Yet, while the film explores themes of infidelity and suburban malaise, one moment in particular has cemented itself in viewers’ minds, the now-iconic sex scene on top of a washing machine.

Henry Cavill: “I was really p*ssed off” When Producers of $75M Movie Took My Mom Aside to Tell Her I’m Too Fat
Image
Henry Cavill, quite rightfully so, is often considered the epitome of the male form. One of the most visually appeasing actors in the industry, Cavill has also proven that he is indeed much more than a pretty face.

However, somewhat surprisingly, the British actor’s rise to fame wasn’t without its challenges. Early in his career, Cavill faced a demoralizing incident during the production of The Count of Monte Cristo (2002), a $75 million adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’ classic novel. Producers of the film not only demanded he lose weight for his role but chose an unconventional and, arguably, inappropriate way to convey this.

Henry Cavill was not happy when producers said this to his mom Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher | Credits: Little Schmidt

In The Count of Monte Cristo, Cavill, then just 19 years old, played Albert Mondego, the son of Mercédès (Dagmara Dominczyk). The role was significant for the young actor,...

The Count Of Monte Cristo: Henry Cavill's First Major Role Should Have Made Him A Movie Star — Why Did It Take So Long?
Image
Though best known as Superman in Man of Steel and Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s hit series The Witcher, Henry Cavill’s career should have taken off when he appeared in 2002’s The Count of Monte Cristo. Based on the classic 1844 novel of the same name by Alexandre Dumas, the story has been adapted myriad times across film and TV in many different styles. The 2002 version, starring Jim Caviezel, Guy Pearce, and Cavill, is one of the best. It received a commendable 73% on Rotten Tomatoes and grossed over $75 at the worldwide box office (via Box Office Mojo).

The period drama from the 2000s follows protagonist Edmond Dantès (Caviezel), a man framed for treason by a group of conspirators and sent to prison. After a daring escape and years of planning, he returns home as a wealthy count, eager to seek vengeance on the ones who wronged him, including his closest friend,...

10 Best TV Shows Like House Of The Dragon While Waiting For Season 3
Image
House of the Dragon expertly blends high fantasy, political intrigue, and familial drama — and the combination of all those things makes it difficult to find similar TV shows. The Game of Thrones spinoff has yet to reach the heights of its predecessor, but it boasts many of the same strengths as the original HBO series. Its balance of personal and political stakes is impressive over the course of its first two seasons, and things promise to get even more tense between the members of House Targaryen in House of the Dragon season 3.

Unfortunately, it could be a while before the next season of House of the Dragon premieres, especially if the show repeats the two-year gap between seasons 1 and 2. This may leave viewers wondering what to watch in the meantime. While there aren't many shows exactly like House of the Dragon, there are some great series that feature similar elements and themes.

15 Shows to Watch If You Loved Sons of Anarchy
Image
Your browser does not support the video tag.

Sons of Anarchy, which ran for seven seasons on FX, ranks as one of the all-time greatest basic cable shows ever. The series, about an outlaw motorcycle club from California's Central Valley, had amazing characters, truly evil villains, and engaging story arcs. Best of all, it went out on a high note before it grew irrelevant, like too many shows that overstayed their welcome.

While it was appropriate to end when it did, the Sons of Anarchy finale meant fans wouldn't get their weekly dose of Jax and the crew. Luckily, there are plenty of shows that bring a similar vibe for fans to check out or rediscover. There aren't a bunch of renegade biker shows out there, but there are some, and the theme of having the heroes be criminals is quite pervasive on television.

Miller's Girl Ending, Explained
Image
Quick Links Miller's Girl Dives Into an Inappropriate Student-Teacher Relationship Cairo and Winnie Are Desperate For Love The Ending of Miller's Girl is Psychologically Disturbing

When critics label a movie "controversial," audiences need to ask themselves if that was the director's intended purpose of the film or if the people who actually watched the story unfold felt uncomfortable and decided to label it as such. With Miller's Girl, there is absolutely no debate; it is meant to make you cringe. Miller's Girl was initially released in theaters in January 2024, but that was short-lived as no one cared to see an erotic thriller about a student-teacher affair, even if Jenna Ortega and Mark Freeman's characters were getting hot and heavy on camera. Now, with the movie moving over to Netflix, people are clicking on it and finding the plot quite repulsive.

The story starts off with Cairo Sweet (Ortega) joining...

Martin Freeman Hits Back at Outrage Over 'Gross' Intimate Scenes With Jenna Ortega in Miller's Girl
Image
Martin Freeman defends controversial film scenes, believing critics are missing the point of the nuanced tale. The intimacy coordinator ensured comfort during racy scenes between Freeman and Jenna Ortega on the set of Miller's Girl. Despite mixed reviews, Miller's Girl finds new life on the Netflix chart.

Martin Freeman has addressed online unease over his intimate scenes with Jenna Ortega in the erotic thriller Millers Girl, as the movie leaps up the Netflix chart. The film caused a lot of noise when it was released in theaters in January, mainly over the storys focus on the relationship between Freemans teacher and his much younger student. Now the film is finding a second wind on Netflix, the grumbles have started again, but Freeman believes those complaining are not getting the point.

In real-life, Freeman is over three decades older than 21-year-old Wednesday star Ortega. This has been enough to cause a...
