The Kansas City Chiefs are pushing further into the entertainment business, launching a production company just ahead of Super Bowl Lix.
The new venture, Foolish Club Studios, will develop scripted and unscripted content for both shortform and longform platforms. The Chiefs have already experimented in the sector, as with last year’s Hallmark Channel film Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story; and with the online claymation short A Kingdom Christmas Story: Hail Merry.
Foolish Club will seek to develop that business further in an effort to grow the Chiefs brand. While the team already has one in-house production team (65 Toss Power Trap Production group) that is focused on football content, Foolish Club will be focused more on entertainment fare that expands the boundaries of what the team is currently doing.

Exclusive: As the Kansas City Chiefs head into their third consecutive Super Bowl, the leadership team of the back-to-back world champs on Monday announced the formation of a new production studio to develop original scripted and unscripted content.
The Foolish Club Studios will be devoted to telling stories that celebrate “foolish dreamers” – those pushing the limits to achieve greatness, whether on the field, at home, or in the game of life, the founders say.
“Building on the legacy of American sports pioneer and Kansas City Chiefs founder Lamar Hunt, the studio will prioritize telling unique stories that not only highlight the rich, deep history of the franchise, the characters that have defined it and its position within the Kansas City and global communities, but also stories that reflect the spirit of humility, heart, and hard work that have been part of the team’s heritage since the beginning,” according to the press release.

It’s that time of year again, and home for the holidays has an all-new meaning at Hallmark with the debut of feature “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.”
The Hallmark Channel, which is based in Kansas City, has tapped into the viral fandom of Super Bowl-winning football team the Chiefs for an NFL-produced co-production holiday film. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that the Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce has a very public romance with Taylor Swift and also has made his own acting debut recently. Kelce’s mother Donna Kelce even has a cameo in “Holiday Touchdown,” along with Coach Andy Reid and Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas.
Reigning Hallmark heartthrob Tyler Hynes leads “Holiday Touchdown” alongside actress Hunter King.
The official synopsis reads: “Alana Higman (King) is sure that her family’s lifelong history as Kansas City Chiefs superfans makes them a frontrunner to win the team...

If Hallmark’s business model were a Hallmark movie, the logline would be straightforward: Tired of the monotonous dating landscape, a hardworking woman is ready to try something different. As she opens herself up to new experiences, she envisions a future that no one saw coming.
At Hallmark Media, executives know it’s a turbulent time in the entertainment business, with thousands of layoffs and budget cuts being made across the industry. They also recognize that for Hallmark’s business to thrive, they have to surprise audiences with new ideas. Heading into its busiest season, Hallmark is rolling out a series of initiatives encompassing elaborate fan experiences and a new app, a massive NFL deal and the first-ever holiday cruise.
“We have to go where the consumer goes. People want to do things, not have more stuff. How do we create this?” That’s something Lindsey Roy, senior VP of...

Making his debut on the BBC series Ballykissangel in 1998, Irish actor Colin Farrell developed quite a name for himself in the film industry. Largely cast as the leading man in both large-scale blockbusters and indie films, Farrell's time on screen consolidated himself as one of the most influential actors in 2023, according to Time magazine. The Irish Times, moreover, named him the fifth-greatest film actor from Ireland in 2020.
In many ways, Farrell has been quite lucky, landing jobs working with brilliant directors, notably Steven Spielberg and Guy Richie. Twinned with his incredible acting range, pinpointing his best performance has been quite an arduous task. This choice, however, represents one of the better roles Farrell has had the opportunity to bring to life.
Despite his greatest performance taking place 16 years ago, Farrell shows no sign of slowing down. After one of his more impressive villainous roles saw massive success in 2022's The Batman,...

Christmas is coming early for Swifties who are also fans of Hallmark Channel movies. This time for real.
This “Countdown to Christmas” season, the Hallmark Channel will debut new original movie “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.” We wonder where they got the inspiration for this one… (Hallmark Channel is now calling its fans “Hallmarkies.”)
The made-for-tv movie is not a total ripoff of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s romance, which dominated tabloid headlines, late-night talk shows, and much of the NFL season coverage in late 2023 and early 2024. The Chiefs, with Swift in attendance, won Super Bowl Lviii in February, repeating as champions. Thanks to a great game (late) — and those Trayvis stans — the 2024 Super Bowl was the most-watched TV program since the 1969 moon landing. “Holiday Touchdown” probably won’t amass 123.4 million viewers.

Little Changes
Stars: Karl Sedgwick, Safron Beck, Mark Donovan, Jenny Layton | Written & Directed by James Static
Surrealist films are always an iffy prospect. They can often easily come off as overly eccentric or pretentious without a decent story or recurring themes to back up the frankly bizarre audio/visuals. Unfortunately, while feature-length films of this ouevre have a leisurely running time in which to convince the audience that the colourful butterfly-man that just hatched from an easter egg and is proceeding to fellate a seagull does indeed mean something hugely important, short films have no such safety net. Though this can often be a boon – hitting the audience with one intense, vibrant idea then disappearing before they have a chance to get bored or cynical - more often than not it’s a crippling hindrance.
The above paragraph may, then, suggest to you that Little Changes suffers from these problems.
