- After his film career ended he worked as a news anchor for Los Angeles TV station KFWB, from 1968-1980.
- Chet had three children. Two step-children he raised, Alan Crosthwaite and Janet Crosthwaite/Douglas/Breault, and one child from his marriage to Yvonne King/Douglas whos name is Erik Douglas. All three are married and have children of their own. Alan is in San Diego, California. Married to Debbie, with a son Ryan. Janet is in Valencia, California. Married to David Breault, with daughters Jennifer, Jessica, Melanie and son Christopher. And Erik Douglas is in Colorado. Married to Courtney, with two sons, Chase and Trevor.
