ITV is gearing up to release a new drama called The Hack, and some exclusive images have just surfaced to hype it up even more. The show is about the phone hacking scandal that rocked Rupert Murdoch’s News of the World more than ten years ago, and it’s created by a talented team: writer Jack Thorne, director Lewis Arnold, and producer Patrick Spence. Deadline first shared news of the project earlier this year, and Australia’s Stan is also helping produce the series.

David Tennant takes the lead as investigative reporter Nick Davies, the journalist who exposed the phone hacking scandal.

In the new photos, Tennant can be seen in action alongside Robert Carlyle, who plays Detective Chief Superintendent Dave Cook from the Metropolitan Police. Cook’s character is important because he led the investigation into the still-unsolved murder of private investigator Daniel Morgan, a story that’s also part of the drama.

Excitement is growing for ITV’s upcoming drama series The Hack, and now we have exclusive new images that bring the story to life. Photos showcasing Doctor Who star David Tennantin character for his latest role have been released, and the beloved actor looks unlike any character he's ever played before. Tennant is arguably best known for playing the Tenth and Fourteenth Doctors in the iconic BBC series Doctor Who.

He portrayed the regenerating character from 2005 to 2010, and then once again in 2023. In addition to playing The Doctor, other well-known David Tennant characters have appeared in the films Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Fright Night, as well as the series Jessica Jones and Good Omens.

Tennant will now be starring in the British TV series The Hack, which is based on a true story. The Hack tells the story of the investigation into a major phone hacking at News of the World, a discontinued British tabloid. Tennant will be playing Nick Davies, the journalist taking on the mysterious story.

Focus Features has finally unleased the first real look at Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, the third and final film in the movie series based on the PBS period drama created by Julian Fellowes. The film hits theaters September 12.

With some of the same footage shown to exhibitors during Focus’ presentation at CinemaCon earlier this spring, the teaser lays out the plot: the Crawley family and its staff arrive at 1930, looking to the future while saying goodbye to the past.

That includes the family’s famed Grantham Estate. At one point, the head of the family Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville) pays respect to the mansion that made the show famous — the real Highclere Castle in Hampshire, England — by giving it a pat and a kiss, apparently as the family says goodbye to it.

Could there be trouble in paradise for the Talbots? Matthew Goode has confirmed that he won’t be reprising his role of Mary’s husband Henry Talbot in the third and final Downton Abbey movie, hitting theaters on Sept. 12, after previously missing the second installment.

“I was unavailable for the second because I was doing The Offer,” Goode recently told The UK’s Radio Times. “[For the third], I was shooting [Netflix’s Department Q]. But I also buggered my knee, and I had to have an operation. That takes weeks to get over, so I was never going to be able to do it.

Focus Features today offered CinemaCon attendees an emotional look at the first trailer for Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale. This is the last in the trilogy of big screen continuations of the British TV drama phenomenon. It’s written by series creator Julian Fellowes and directed by Simon Curtis.

Plot details had previously been sparse, but the trailer shown today includes a title card that tells us “It’s time to say goodbye” before we see Hugh Bonneville’s Earl of Grantham patting the facade of the manor house on the Grantham Estate in what indeed appears to be a farewell.

If there was any doubt that the film’s title was hinting at the film being a closing chapter for the franchise, it’s tagline most certainly confirms the film will be the final chapter in the franchise with the poster teasing, “The time has come to say goodbye.”

Julian Fellowes, the creator of the TV series and writer of the first two films, returns to pen the screenplay for “The Grand Finale,” which is directed by Simon Curtis who spearheaded 2022’s “Downton Abbey: A New Era.”

Plot details are under wraps but the new film follows in the footsteps of 2022’s “A New Era” and 2019’s “Downton Abbey” movie, both continuations of the acclaimed TV series that ran for six seasons.

ITV and Australian streamer Stan have spent the past year quietly filming, editing and laying the groundwork for The Hack, which comes from the storied creative trio of multi-bafta Award winner Thorne, director Lewis Arnold (Sherwood) and producer Patrick Spence (Mr Bates vs the Post Office).

She recounted surviving years of assaults by her boyfriend, John Sweeney, who was later revealed to be a serial killer.

Through flashbacks and a nonlinear narrative, we learn of Delia’s initial meeting with Sweeney at a pub and the horrors that followed. Played with intensity by Anna Maxwell Martin, Delia is no simple victim—she’s a complex, stubborn loner. This makes her all the more believable as a survivor fighting for justice, even as the system fails her. Shaun Evans is disturbingly convincing as Sweeney, charming yet increasingly monstrous.
