Making Apes: The Artists Who Changed Film Documentary to Screen at Santa Barbara International Film Festival
Last year marked 50 years since the Planet of the Apes was released in theaters, and William Conlin's new documentary, Making Apes: The Artists Who Changed Film, celebrates a half century of the movie's groundbreaking makeup effects and the artists who made them a reality. Featuring interviews with the movie's innovative makeup artists and filmmakers such as Guillermo del Toro and John Landis, Making Apes will be screened at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival this February.

The screening of Making Apes: The Artists Who Changed Film will take place on Friday, February 8th at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in Metro Theatre Auditorium #3, followed by a Saturday morning screening on February 9th in Metro Theatre Auditorium #1.

Monsterpalooza 2011
There really is nothing more intoxicating than living as a horror fan and being surrounded by monsters and madmen, as witnessed by the 3rd Annual Monsterpalooza in Burbank, California. Where else can you attend a con where people like Rick Baker, Joe Dante, and William Malone are walking the floor shopping for goodies like they are kids in a candy store. I won’t bore you too much with chit chat, so I’d like to share with you the plethora of astonishing make-up work and a few of the celebrity guests who attended this year’s convention.
