‘Wicked’ Star Marissa Bode on ‘For Good,’ Wanting to Do a Horror Movie Because She Loves ‘Blood and Guts’ and Queer and Disability Representation: ‘We Have to Keep Showing Up Out of Survival’
Image
Marissa Bode had quite the introduction to San Diego Comic-Con Thursday night.

Not only was it the first time the “Wicked” and “Wicked: For Good” star attended the San Diego convention, but she was also a judge at the 11th annual Her Universe Fashion show..

Co-hosted by Her Universe founder Ashley Eckstein and Broadway star Michael James Scott, the show’s theme was “Defying Fashion: Fashion That Defies Expectations” and featured 25 “geek couture” designers pulling inspiration from Universal properties.

The judging panel named Lynleigh Sato winner for her colorful “Trolls”-inspired look while the audience picked Caitlin Beards’ black and gold “The Mummy” gown.

“I had a lot of fun,” Bode, who plays Nessarose in the “Wicked” movies, told me after the winners were announced. “First ever fashion show in the books, first ever Comic-Con in the books. I came in hoping for looks, because I’ve seen Comic-Con pictures...

Ezra Bridger Gets a New Look (and Ditches the Beard) in New ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 Image
Image
The fans cried out in dismay, and Disney+ answered. After only a fleeting appearance in Ahsoka Season 1, Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi) is confirmed to have a larger role in the new season. This week at San Diego Comic Con, the production released an exclusive first image of Ezra from Ahsoka Season 2. In the picture, the character is lacking the beard he had been sporting in his years in exile with Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen). Smiling brightly in his familiar threads, the photo hints at great things ahead for the character.

Ezra first entered the cultural zeitgeist as the protagonist of one of the best Star Wars properties, Star Wars: Rebels. The animated series was a springboard from its predecessor, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which detailed the events before the fall of the Republic. Rebels followed the humble origins of the Rebel Alliance and the young Jedi, Ezra, learning...

A look back at Ahsoka Tano's live action debut five years later
Image
Ahsoka Tano is one of the most popular characters in the history of Star Wars and has been around for almost 20 years. Somehow, Ahsoka only made her live-action debut a few years back. In a moment brought with much anticipation, Rosario Dawson brought the character to life in season 2 episode of The Mandalorian, "The Jedi."

In the episode, Ahsoka teams with the show's main character to take down an impressive regime in a small town. She also bonds with Grogu and explains to Din that she cannot train him due to the bond between Din and Grogu. It sets up Ahsoka for other appearances in the franchise and led to get getting her own series. It also sets up how strong the connection between Din and Grogu is.

In her opening scene, Tano brought down members of the oppressive regime in a smoky wooded area only to come face to...

Star Wars officially 'kills off' beloved character, confirming fans' worst fears
Image
Nothing lasts forever, and you can rest assured that this is extra imperative in a world as high stakes as the one that Star Wars exists in. Heck, look no further than all of the eras that the franchise has taken us through - from the Republic Era to the Imperial Era, that galaxy so far, far away has seen a lot over the years.

Death is one of those inevitable things that the Star Wars universe is full of. We've witnessed plenty of untimely demises throughout the classic franchise, particularly in the original Skywalker Saga that took us through many eras and times - all of which featured epic battles that often ended in the death of at least one character. That trend has continued on into the Disney Plus shows too, which again isn't unexpected considering the life-and-death stakes that the Jedis and Mandalorians of this world face on a daily basis.

Ahsoka Season 2 Directors Reportedly Confirmed
Image
Some old and new faces are joining the Ahsoka directing party.

Per Inverse, several profiles on Independent Talent have revealed the names of four filmmakers working on Ahsoka season 2, including showrunner Dave Filoni, Jennifer Getzinger, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Anders Engström. While Getzinger previously oversaw season 1's sixth episode "Part Six: Far, Far Away," Howard is a veteran director of the Disney+ Star Wars era, having filmed episodes of The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Skeleton Crew respectively. By contrast, this will be Engström's first Star Wars project, with the Finnish director's prior body of TV work including Hanna, See, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

Filmming on season 2 began in late April, with series lead Rosario Dawson confirming she was back to playing Ahsoka Tano shortly after this year's Star Wars Celebration in Japan. Details about season 2 still remain unclear, despite the finale focusing on Grand Admiral...

Star Wars Settles a Major Debate About Ahsoka, Confirming A Key Detail About Her Death
Image
Warning! This post contains Spoilers for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Adaptation #5Star Wars has just settled a pretty big debate about Ahsoka's ultimate death in the established canon, confirming a key detail about her eventual demise and when it might be. Currently, Ahsoka Tano is having ongoing adventures in the New Republic Era, having appeared in The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and her own series which is set to have a second season in 2026. However, Marvel's newest adaptation has helped support a key argument regarding when her journey will likely come to an end.

6 years after its theatrical release, Marvel Comics has finally published its Rise of Skywalker adaptation. The fifth and final issue was just released, covering the Battle of Exegol and Rey's major confrontation with the resurrected Emperor Palpatine. All 12 Star Wars Movies, Ranked From Worst To Best
Image
Unless you've been living under a rock for the past 50 years, you most likely have at least a passing familiarity with Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Yoda, and Darth Vader. "Star Wars" has been one of the world's most popular franchises since the first film was released back in 1977, and at this point, its most famous moments (including Darth Vader's iconic "I am your father" confession) have spilled out into the public consciousness, known even by people who haven't seen the films. But that doesn't mean that every "Star Wars" movie is of the same quality as its very best outings -- far from it.

In fact, every self-respecting "Star Wars" fan seems to have a litany of grievances against their beloved franchise, railing against one film or another for ruining "Star Wars." But since they all seem to blame different films for the sci-fi series' alleged downfall, coming up with...

Image
Star Wars fans won't have to wait long for more Ahsoka Tano on Disney+.

The Star Wars: Clone Wars heroine will appear in a surprising new four-part prequel series, Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past, coming to Disney+ on September 19. However, this particular series is unique in that it features an old version of Ahsoka Tano but in a dramatically different way.

At Star Wars Celebration 2025, original Ahsoka voice actress Ashley Eckstein announced she would be reprising her role as Ahsoka for Lego's Pieces of the Past following her 2022 reprisal in Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi.

Tales Of The Underworld Reveals A Key Star Wars Book Scene We Never Thought We'd See
Image
This article contains spoilers for "Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld."

"Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld" is the latest entry in an animated anthology series composed of mini-episodes that more deeply explore the backgrounds of some of our favorite "Star Wars" characters. Sometimes, it bridges gaps, while at other times, it reveals secrets. The first season, "Tales of the Jedi," provided us with more insight into Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein) and Count Dooku (Corey Burton). The second season, "Tales of the Empire," similarly gave us a closer look at Barris Offee (Meredith Salenger) and Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto).

In that same vein, "Tales of the Underworld" brings Asajj Ventress (Nika Futterman) and Cad Bane (Burton) into focus. Asajj is a curious character at the moment, as she has had a very interesting gap in her history that hasn't exactly been explained until now. The canonical 2015 novel "Star Wars: Dark Disciple,...

Tales of the Jedi episode 1 review
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Episode 1 of Tales of the Jedi Ahead

What started out as a small way for Star Wars creator Dave Filoni to pass the time, has now become a six-episode mini-series. Tales of the Jedi follows two key characters from The Clone Wars, Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku. Each character has their own three episodes dedicated to stories and moments that we have never seen before. The first focuses on Ahsoka during a time when she was around one year old.

Something this episode gives us a lot of insight into is the Togruta people’s rituals and traditions. Ahsoka’s birth is celebrated by the entire clan and there is an interesting tradition that involves a mother hunting with her child once she turns one. Additionally, the clan elder has these absolutely adorable dog-like creatures that resemble Loth-Cats from Star Wars Rebels. I don’t know what they are called,...

Who plays Ahsoka’s Mother Pav-ti in Tales of the Jedi?
Image
For those who are a fan of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and its awesome animation style as well as the thrilling characters, the upcoming Tales of the Jedi mini-series is a dream come true. We have some familiar faces returning to voice their character including Ashley Eckstein as Ahsoka Tano, Liam Neeson as Qui-Jonn Jinn, and even Dee Bradley Baker as Captain Rex. But the fans of Star Wars: Battlefront II will hear the familiar voice of Iden Versio, Janina Gavankar.

Where have we seen Janina Gavankar before?

Iden Versio is the main character of the somewhat controversial game, Star Wars: Battlefront II. Shortly after its release, the game was heavily criticized for its use of loot box content, but that controversy has nothing to do with the excellent storyline of its campaign. Janina Gavankar’s Iden Versio was an interesting protagonist who even had a storyline that extended...

Andor Season 2 Just Recast a Major Star Wars Character (& Here's Why)
Image
The following contains minor spoilers from Andor Season 2, Episode 6, "What a Festive Evening," now streaming on Disney+.

Another beloved character in the Star Wars galaxy has just been recast. In the sixth episode of Andor Season 2, Bail Organa made a quick appearance; however, it wasn't long-time portrayer Jimmy Smits in the role of the rebellion hero, but Benjamin Bratt.

In "What a Festive Evening," as Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) and her husband Perrin (Alastair Mackenzie) are on their way to a party, they are greeted by Bail Organa, who is on his way out. The episode marked the first appearance of Bratt in the role of the familiar character, whose casting came as a result of Smits being unavailable during production on Andor Season 2. "We couldn't work it out," showrunner Tony Gilroy told Entertainment Weekly. "The scheduling didn’t work out. We really tried hard, but he wasn't available and couldn't make it.

‘Star Wars’ Celebration 2025: All the biggest announcements you might have missed
Image
Andor will end with its already-acclaimed second season, but there are still plenty of Star Wars stories on the horizon. This year’s iteration of the semi-annual Star Wars Celebration convention, which took place in Tokyo, Japan over the weekend, gave plenty of star-studded updates on both fan-favorite Star Wars projects and new, previously unannounced installments. Here’s a roundup of what you may have missed.

What did we learn about existing Star Wars shows and movies at Celebration 2025?

Disney+ shows abound, but the last theatrically-released Star Wars movie remains 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. That will change next year with The Mandalorian and Grogu, a cinematic conclusion to Disney+’s first original series directed by series creator Jon Favreau, who was on hand at Celebration to promote the movie alongside his creative collaborator Dave Filoni and stars Pedro Pascal (reprising his role as the titular Mandalorian bounty hunter Djin...

Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy Sequel Confirmed For Fall Release
Image
Get ready to revisit the Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxyuniverse with some brand new and old, but different-looking, faces.

Per StarWars.com, an official sequel series, Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past, was announced at Star Wars Celebration Japan, continuing Sig Greebling and Jedi Bob's adventures in a world where the franchise's heroes and villains have flipped roles. New characters were confirmed via an official poster, partnering Sig with a massive Lego Chewbacca, a BrickHeadz-style Ahsoka Tano, and, most notably, EU comic-era Lepi smuggler Jaxxon. Though he's since been added to the Disney-era Star Wars timeline, this will be Jaxxon's first adaptation appearance outside the comics, with Ben Schwartz providing his voice.

Additionally, Star Wars: The Clone Wars' Ashley Eckstein confirmed that she will return to voice BrickHeadz Ahsoka, calling this new take on her character "such a good representation of Ahsoka. Last time I was on this stage,...

Andor Season 2, Ahsoka Season 2, and Lego Star Wars Updates
Image
Star Wars Celebration 2025 continued in Japan today, with details and exclusive first looks at the return of Disney+’s Andor and Ahsoka, as well as exciting news about a new Lego Star Wars sequel special. The weekend-long convention, which is being held at Makuhari Messe Convention Center in Tokyo, runs from April 18-20.

Hosts Sascha Boeckle and DJ Taro took to the stage to kick off the day with a thrilling look at the highly anticipated Season 2 of the Emmy-nominated drama Andor, which returns to Disney+ for its long-awaited conclusion on April 22. The excitement started off with an exclusive look at a recap of Season 1.

The duo then welcomed creator/writer/director Tony Gilroy and executive producer and Cassian Andor himself, Diego Luna, to the stage. They were joined by executive producer Sanne Wohlenberg and cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, and Alan Tudyk for a...

'Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy' Puts Ashley Eckstein and Ben Schwartz Together in 'Pieces of the Past'
Image
The animated Lego Star Wars series, Rebuild the Galaxy, is adding another two key pieces. At Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo, Japan, today, Lucasfilm announced that a new special is on its way: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past. The cast for that special will include an important part of Star Wars animation history, and a deep cut from the long history of Star Wars comic books. Ashley Eckstein will reprise her animated role of Ahsoka Tano (in Lego BrickHeadz form), and Ben Schwartz is expected to play the rascally alien rabbit Jaxxon.

The special will continue the story of the Rebuild the Galaxy miniseries, which centered around two nerf-herding brothers, Sig (Gaten Matarazzo) and Dev Greebling (Tony Revolori) who find an ancient artifact, the Cornerstone. Sig gets hurled into a Bizarro World version of the Star Wars universe, where Tattooine is a water world, Jar Jar Binks (Ahmed Best...

‘Star Wars Rebels’ Is Essential Viewing Before ‘Andor’ Returns
Image
One of the pleasures of Tony Gilroy’s “Andor” is how standalone it feels within the “Star Wars” universe. It is a rare prequel that manages to make you afraid for characters you know damn well survive until the end — of the series, anyway — and employs a distinct, sophisticated tone that uncovers wholly new facets of its galaxy far, far away. It is inherently “Star Wars,” but also unlike anything in the franchise.

Except that last part is not entirely true. Because there is another “Star Wars” title that covers much of the same ground in a way that is in constant conversation with “Andor” — a show that gave us our first look at the birth of the Rebel Alliance, that portrayed infighting between nascent rebel cells, the rivalry between Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) and Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly), and much more.

That show is “Star Wars Rebels,” and it...

Tales of the Underworld Trailer Brings Back 2 Fan-Favorite Star Wars Bounty Hunters for New Disney+ Cartoon
Image
Star Wars fans just received a surprise trailer drop from Lucasfilm. The production company has unveiled the next installment in its Tales anthology series, Tales of the Underworld, which will hit Disney+ this May for Star Wars Day.

Tales of the Underworld will follow the same format as the animated series' previous two entries — Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire — focusing on two well-known characters in the Star Wars galaxy. This time around, the six-episode season will shine the spotlight on two fan-favorite and notorious bounty hunters: "former dark side assassin Asajj Ventress as she’s given a new chance at life and must go on the run with an unexpected new ally, and outlaw Cad Bane as he faces his past when he confronts an old friend, now a marshal on the other side of the law," according to the logline. 'Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld' Trailer Brings Back Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane
Image
Two beloved Star Warscharacters return in the first trailer for Star Wars: Tails of the Underworld. Disney+ is getting ready to celebrate May 4th, commonly known as "Star Wars Day". The next installment of the anthology will be centered around Asajj Ventress (Nika Futterman) and Cad Bane (Corey Burton). The characters were introduced thanks to the world of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The upcoming short stories will allow audiences to be reunited with some of the most popular characters from Star Wars animated media, in two thrilling stories that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

The last time Asajj Ventress was seen on television was during the last season of The Bad Batch. The lovely group of rogue clone troopers crossed paths with Count Dooku's (Corey Burton) former apprentice during a dangerous mission. It was evident that Ventress was no longer the Sith apprentice audiences had encountered during the Clone Wars.

Ashley Eckstein addresses Ahsoka's role in the Mortis arc of The Clone Wars
Image
The true meaning of the "Mortis arc" from Star Wars: The Clone Wars has been among the top Star Wars fan debates for years now. If Anakin is the Son and Ahsoka is the Daughter, does that make Obi-Wan Kenobi the Father? What does that mean -- and, hi Dave Filoni, are we supposed to be taking all this literally or no? Was it all a dream? Hello??

We don't have an official answer for what all this truly represents, and that's likely by design. But original Ahsoka Tano actor Ashley Eckstein recently weighed in on the debate at MEGACon 2025, speaking about what she thinks the arc means for her character.

"This is just my personal opinion, so don't get me in trouble with Dave Filoni," she said, "but I think Ahsoka in many ways represents the light side of the Force as well."

In these three episodes -- spoilers...

Ahmed Best joins Star Wars Celebration Japan guests
Image
Star Wars Celebration Japan is right around the corner in April, and the guest list is getting bigger by adding a fan favorite actor to the roster. Ahmed Best joins the group when Celebration kicks off April 18-20. Along with Best's announcement on StarWars.com, visual effects supervisor John Knoll will also be in Japan to share his tales and work from almost 40 years working at Industrial Light & Magic.

Ahmed Best is best known for his role as Jar Jar Binks in Episode I: The Phantom Menace and the rest of the prequel trilogy, but in more recent media, he's crafted a wonderful role as Jedi Master Kelleran Beq. Kelleran first arrived in the delightful all ages game show Jedi Temple Challenge, which I always hope will come back one day. He then jumped to the canon in The Mandalorian's third season when it was revealed he was the...

The 15 Best Nerd Movies Of All Time Ranked
Image
Nerd movies, like geeks themselves, have come a long way over the last few decades. When films about nerds and geeks started becoming popular in the 1980s, they showed the characters as losers, misfits, and outsiders who had to face bullies, who were often the cool, popular kids. Since the 80s, the roles have stayed the same concerning their brains and status as misfits, but these characters have become more prestigious and important, as brains are more important than brawn in today's society.

When it comes to movies about nerds and geeks, they are no longer just about nerds being picked on by jocks and having to survive. They have become films about the smartest kids in the class doing things that no one ever imagined they could do. Geeks today are cool and often have more in common with regular people than the jocks that used to rule the class.

Rey Skywalker & Ahsoka Tano Stars Unite In The Last Place You'd Expect: A Studio Ghibli Movie
Image
Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey Skywalker in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, and Ashley Eckstein, who voices Ahsoka Tano in animation, once worked together in an unexpected place: a Studio Ghibli movie. Both Ashley Eckstein and Daisy Ridley have had massive impacts on Star Wars as a whole. Eckstein was the first person to voice Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Ridley portrayed Rey Skywalker throughout the sequel trilogy of Star Wars movies. As important as they were, however, their paths only crossed once.

Interestingly, Ridley and Eckstein have actually appeared in the same Star Wars movie together. In Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Rey heard the voices of several past Jedi speak to her as she had her final confrontation with Emperor Palpatine. One of The Rise of Skywalker's voice cameos was Ahsoka Tano, voiced by Ashley Eckstein. While it was the first time Rey...

The Star Wars: Clone Wars Easter Egg You Missed In Skeleton Crew Episode 6
Image
The following contains mild spoilers for the latest episode of "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew."

"Star Wars: Skeleton Crew" continues traditions that began in the animated "Clone Wars" series, most notably in its depiction of war-ravaged planets that boast French-inspired sensibilities. Creators Jon Watts and Christopher Ford's Disney+ show is a love letter to the "Star Wars" franchise as a whole, but episode 6, "Zero Friends Again," features another callback to the aforementioned cartoon that's bound to please eagle-eyed fans of the property.

The moment in question occurs when Jude Law's "Skeleton Crew" character, Jod Na Nawood, gets captured by Brutus (Fred Tatasciore) and his crew of financially-starving pirates. The rogues take their prisoner to a space station with a long central shaft to execute him, but Jod manages to wiggle his way out of it thanks to his gift of gab.

While all of the pirate court drama overshadows the location,...

The Mandalorian & Grogu's Latest Casting Could Lead to Star Wars’ Take on One Of the Biggest Shows of 2024
Image
Quick Links How Rotta the Hutt Could Follow In The Penguins’ Footsteps Jeremy Allen White Will Need To Reinvent How Fans View the Hutts Rotta the Hutt Should Be A Classic Puppet

It's official, Jeremy Allen White is joining the Star Wars galaxy far, far away. White is playing the nearly-forgotten character Rotta the Hutt, who made his debut in the poorly-received 2008 animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars. With this high-profile casting, it's beginning to feel like Lucasfilm is trying to make this seemingly minor character’s inclusion in The Mandalorian & Grogu seem like a big deal. The decision to cast a top-tier actor in a role that appears to be entirely outside their comfort zone reflects Matt Reeves’ decision to cast Colin Farrell as The Penguin in 2022’s The Batman. Shortly after that film’s release, it was announced that Farrell would be donning the transformative make-up again...

Exclusive Ahsoka BTS Feature Reveals How Star Wars Brought Anakin's Padawan To Life
Image
This exclusive Ahsoka behind the scenes feature reveals how Legacy created the live-action Ahsoka Tano. Introduced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, where she was voiced by Ashley Eckstein, the live-action Ahsoka Tano made her debut in The Mandalorian season 2. The design was stunning - and yet, to the delight of viewers, it was only improved in the Ahsoka Disney+ TV show.

Screen Rant can exclusively reveal a stunning new behind-the-scenes feature from the upcoming Ahsoka home release.

Your browser does not support the video tag.

This Ahsoka feature focuses on how Lucasfilm's creative team, including Legacy Effects, recreated Ahsoka for her own show. It explores the ways Lucasfilm improved Ahsoka's design, particularly her incredibly expressive montrals, which had improved massively. Even Ahsoka's costume had been subtly redesigned, made sleeker and more dimensional to help it work better in live-action; the redesign gave Rosario Dawson more flexibility and greater range.

Star Wars Has Fixed George Lucas' Worst Ahsoka Tano Decision
Image
George Lucas made one terrible decision for Ahsoka Tano that remains problematic to this daybut Star Wars has luckily found ways to fix it. Ahsoka was introduced in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie, which in turn led to her role as a major character in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV show. Although Ahsoka was initially poorly received, in part because many took issue with Anakin Skywalker being given a Padawan, Ahsoka's popularity grew exponentially, and she is now largely considered one of Star Wars' best characters.

Ahsoka has since appeared in some of Star Wars' best TV shows, including Star Wars Rebels, The Mandalorian, and Ahsoka, among others. With Ahsoka season 2 in the works, her story is clearly not done yet. Despite her continually growing importance and popularity, though, one aspect of Ahsoka Tano's Star Wars history was particularly unfortunate, and Star Wars has had to find ways to address it.

TV Shows Like Bluey (That Parents & Kids Enjoy)
Image
Your browser does not support the video tag.

Australian children's show Bluey has taken the world by storm, as its heartfelt messages about both childhood and parenthood appeal to people of all ages. The show provides life lessons in creative ways without talking down to its audience. Plus, at only seven minutes long per episode, parents dont have to feel bad about how much screen time their children might be getting.

Bluey is certainly an anomaly in the television zeitgeist. However, there are many shows that appeal to children and adults alike with equally interesting messages. These shows are well-loved for different reasons, with some retaining a loyal fanbase into adulthood and others finding mass appeal right at their initial release. Yet, they all make an impact on the families who watch them together.

10 Actors You Forgot Were in Star Wars Rebels
Image
Star Wars Rebels launched an exciting new chapter in the Star Wars saga, pushing forward the franchise's animated storytelling. Starting five years before Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, Rebels told the story of the Spectres, a small group of rebels who would go on to become part of the larger Rebel Alliance. Taking place so close to the original Star Wars trilogy, the series was able to revisit several familiar characters from the early movies, as well as continuing the stories of several characters last seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Additionally, Rebels brought plenty of new faces -- with new voices -- into the galaxy far, far away.

At the heart of Rebels was a family of new heroes, voiced by newcomers to the Star Wars galaxy. Jedi survivor Kanan Jarrus was voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr., previously known for his work in the live-action Scooby Doo movies.

16 best performances in Lucasfilm Animation in the last 10 years
Image
With Star Wars Rebels turning ten this year, we've had a decade's worth of stellar performances from Lucasfilm Animation. From the return of The Clone Wars to the newest outing from the Lego Star Wars miniseries Rebuild the Galaxy, let's dive into which voice actors brought out the best performances.

My picks are based on the entire run of a show, season, or miniseries. A guest spot on a single episode won't count. The only exception would be Star Wars: Visions being a series of shorts. Who gave a solid performance from the beginning to the end of their respective show.

In no particular order, here are the 16 best performances from Lucasfilm Animation in the last 10 years.

New Ashley Eckstein project adds 'Clone Wars' EP Henry Gilroy
Image
Ashley Eckstein -- best known among Star Wars fans for acting as the original voice for Ahsoka Tano in several Lucasfilm animated series -- is teaming up with Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels executive producer Henry Gilroy on her upcoming untitled audio drama project.

According to Collider, Gilroy joins the project alongside both Eckstein (who will executive produce and star in the audio drama) and Jeff Gomez, who will co-produce.

First announced in 2023, this audio drama will be the first in a new Disney-Lucasfilm IP that will likely expand into other projects in the coming years.

Eckstein has led a versatile career thus far, launching her acting career in the early 2000s and landing her first major role as a voice actor in 2008. She has voiced Ahsoka Tano in multiple television series as well as several video games. She is also an author and the founder of Her Universe,...
