A new musical based on the Manga graphic novel Memoirs of Amorous Gentlemen by Moyoco Anno is in development, with music and lyrics by Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening), producers announced today.

The musical will be presented at a private invite and industry-only presentation on Thursday, February 20 and Friday, February 21 at Gibney Dance in New York City. The new musical will feature a book by Leah Nanako Winkler, music direction, conducting, and vocal and incidental music arrangement by Or Matias, and direction and choreography by Rob Ashford.

Producers Kenny Kurokawa, Takeshi Tanaka and Executive Producer Antonio Marion announced the project today. The producers say Memoirs of Amorous Gentlemen is the first Japanese manga to be adapted into an American musical.

Born Warren David Duclon in Rockford, Il, Duclon started his career as a writer on classic 1970s sitcoms such as The Odd Couple, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, The Jeffersons and Diff’rent Strokes.

His first writing credit was on a handful episodes of the The Odd Couple alongside Garry Marshall, who took him under his wing and taught him how to be a showrunner while Duclon worked on his hits Happy Days and spinoff Laverne & Shirley.

The suspect officials have described as “trying to run over as many people as he possibly could” after driving a vehicle into a crowd during New Year’s celebrations, has been identified as Texas resident Shamsud Din Jabbar. Jabbar, 42, was an army veteran, authorities said. Officials also announced that the federal government is now in charge of the investigation, which they are investigating as a terrorist act.

The coroner said that 15 people were killed, per the AP, and authorities said more than 30 people were injured. The driver, identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, 42, a U.S. citizen from Texas, is now dead, the FBI said. He also was a U.S. Army veteran and the FBI believes he was honorably discharged.

Weapons and a potential improvised explosive device were located in the vehicle, and other potential IEDs were located in the French Quarter the FBI said.

It's so hard to pick a favorite "Hellboy" story, whether comics or movies. The hero's signature tale is "The Corpse," a 24-page comic from 1996 drawn and plotted by Hellboy's creator Mike Mignola. In 1950s Ireland, Hellboy discovers a couple's baby has been swapped with a fairy named Gruagach. To get little Alice Monaghan back, the Sidhe dare Hellboy to bury a talking corpse in holy ground by sunrise.
