There's some good news to share with Ransom Canyon fans, but there's also a bit of frustrating news that goes hand in hand. Following the successful release of the Western romantic drama series back in April, Netflix officially renewed season 2 in June. Thankfully, we now know when production will likely begin on the upcoming new season, and it's sooner than you think!

According to Deadline's initial report about the Ransom Canyon season 2 renewal, filming will begin again in Albuquerque, New Mexico in September 2025. What's on Netflix suggests cameras begin rolling on Sept. 17 and will wrap production in early 2026, which could be anywhere from January to sometime in February at the latest. While the two shows have been heavily compared, with many looking down on Ransom Canyon in the past, this news confirms its frontier legacy.

Based on the bestselling novels of Jodi Thomas and with a stunning cast led by Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly, the show received lukewarm reviews. However, that did not stop it from topping Netflix charts and riding on the waves of high viewership success. April Blair is preparing to saddle up for another chapter of her modern Western Ransom Canyon, as the soapy drama (which is basically Netflix's romantic answer to Yellowstone) has been renewed for Season 2, roughly two months after its 10-episode first season was released on the streaming service. It seems that Netflix was not ready to let the series ride off into the sunset just yet — and as luck would have it, there are plenty of "stories still untold," according to showrunner, creator and executive producer Blair, who said in a statement:
