Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the first person to walk on the moon along with the late Neil Armstrong, tied the knot on his 93th birthday with long-time girlfriend Anca Faur, 63.

That same day, he was honored at the Living Legends of Aviation Awards Dinner at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. The 20th annual ceremony celebrated entrepreneurs, industry leaders, astronauts and pilots who have made significant contributions to aviation.

“We were joined in holy matrimony in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles & are as excited as eloping teenagers,” Aldrin wrote in a Friday Twitter post featuring several photos from the wedding, thanking fans for the birthday wishes. “Thank you for all of the … heartfelt goodwill. – Neon, the recently launched distribution company founded by Tom Quinn and Tim League, will release Oscar winning director Errol Morris’ “The B-Side,” a heartfelt portrait of photographer, Elsa Dorfman. The film premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in 2016 followed by a prestigious festival run, screening at the Toronto International Film Festival, New York Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival and the International Documentary Filmfestival Amsterdam (Idfa).

The film is slated to open theatrically on June 2.

The last couple of weeks have seen blockbusters of varying budgets hit our screens.

Prometheus, Ridley Scott's vast epic "in the same universe as Alien", explores the possibility that mankind's origins deserted Earth through their own volition - reasons to be discovered, perhaps, in the tantalisingly hinted-at sequel - and made a new life for themselves on another planet.

Iron Sky, meanwhile, details a what-if scenario of defeated Nazis fleeing our planet and making a home for themselves on the dark side of the moon while they plot their ill-intentioned return in 2018. Funded by crowd-sourcing and released to an agog audience in a controversial distribution plan that involved only putting it in UK cinemas for one day – much to the consternation of its makers – it has nevertheless pulled in the crowds and garnered itself a place in the country’s Box Office top ten.
