Andy Cohen Celebrates 19 Years Of Real Housewives of Orange County
Image
Andy Cohen, who hosts the Housewives franchise, is celebrating nineteen years of The Real Housewives of Orange County. On social media, he shared a throwback photo of himself and thanked the cast for all their shenanigans.

The Host Has Something To Celebrate

It hasn’t always been an easy ride for Andy who deals with a lot of drama across the franchise. But, he survived and even got past the lawsuit drama with Brandi Glanville. Remember, she accused him of wanting to sleep with another cast member and then inviting her to watch on Facetime.

On March 21, the Bravo host wasn’t dwelling on any of the various accusations against him. Instead, he’s celebrating Rhoc. On Instagram, he posted a photo of himself looking very young in his white shirt against a red background.

Andy Cohen and Rhoc Og Vicki Gunvalson celebrate 19-year milestone
Image
The Real Housewives of Orange County just hit a major milestone:19 years since the show premiered.

Bravo boss Andy Cohen took to social media to celebrate the special moment and so did the Og of the Oc, Vicki Gunvalson.

Vicki posted a throwback photo of the Season 1 cast, which included Jeana Keough, Lauri Peterson, Jo De La Rosa, and Kimberly Bryant.

Meanwhile, fans of the show are celebrating as well and putting some respect on Vicki’s name.

We even spotted some current cast members in the comment section thanking the Og for paving the way.

Sadly, we won’t see Vicki on the show’s 19th season, which is currently filming.

She appeared alongside her friend and current cast member Shannon Beador in Season 18.

However, earlier this year, the 62-year-old revealed that she would not be on the show but would be cheering Shannon on from the sidelines.

Andy...

'Rhony's Erin Lichy Is Uncomfortably Uptight
Image
While every reality show is filled with drama, few are as packed with jaw-dropping, riveting moments as The Real Housewives of New York City. Created by Scott Dunlop, this series focuses on a group of elite women navigating their lives and one another's attitudes in New York City, has proven ceaselessly entertaining for 15 seasons. With the show's newest cast especially, this group has offered invigorating conflict while providing alot of the heart that previous casts were missing...well, mostly. So much of the show is built on petty squabbles and exaggerated reactions, yet even the most avid viewer get frustrated by how unreasonable some of these stars can be. And while all of the current cast has been guilty of this to some degree, there's one who is almost always starting fights over the most fickle, and often confusing, of reasons: Erin Lichy. Despite being less wild than some of her contemporaries,...

Bravo Has Intense Rules For Casting And Firing 'The Real Housewives'
Image
The Real Housewives franchise started with Rhoc in 2006 and has evolved into a full-blown audition process for casting. Potential housewives need a strong social media presence, community reputation, industry recommendation, and must be open. Bravo listens to fan feedback in deciding who to fire from the show, focusing on authenticity and group dynamics.

Real Housewives looked very different when it started with the Orange County franchise (Rhoc) in 2006. At that time, the show's original producer, Scott Dunlop initially thought of making a short film about the now beloved "tennis b------" and "unusual" and "annoying" characters alongside their "men of leisure". But once Andy Cohen saw a sizzle reel of this bunch, he knew Bravo needed to turn it into a reality series. Back then, casting wasn't as intense as it is now, with all the contract and salary drama involved.

It started with Vicki Gunvalson's son, Michael Wolfsmith, who...

Andy Cohen Says ‘Real Housewives’ Gave Women Over 50 a Platform to Express Their Sexuality: “Great Feminist Tableau”
Image
Andy Cohen, who helped develop Bravo’s massively successful Real Housewives franchise, is opening up about how the show’s concept came to be and what he finds aspirational about it all.

In an interview with The New Yorker, published online Sunday, the Watch What Happens Live host said he views the way women are portrayed on Housewives as a “great feminist tableau.”

The reality series, with 10 shows executive produced by Cohen in the United States and even more globally, follows some of the most affluent women across the country as they live luxurious lifestyles.

“There’s no show that has given a platform for women over 50 in this way, in terms of expressing their sexuality and who they are and starting over in life and figuring things out,” Cohen said. “And I think that’s brilliant.”

Before Housewives was created, the producer said he was intrigued with the soap opera All My Children,...
