Munchkin is dedicated to helping babies have the best start in life — and now the brand is working to give SeaWorld’s orcas a fresh start, too.

The company’s CEO Steve Dunn has pledged $1 million toward the building of a seaside sanctuary for the killer whales currently kept in SeaWorld’s parks. Since whales living in captivity aren’t capable of surviving in the wild, these sanctuaries would provide a home that resembles the orcas’ natural habitat, where the animals would be given expansive spaces to swim, the chance to interact with other whales and freedom from being forced to perform.

Who fan Steve Dunn has written into Doctor Who Magazine (which CultBox spotted and reported online), asking showrunner Steven Moffat to “Please do [a multi-Doctor story with] the Eighth Doctor with the Twelfth Doctor.”

[April 25, 2013 – New York, NY] – The 12th annual Tribeca Film Festival, co-founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff, and presented by founding sponsor American Express, announced the winners of its competition categories tonight at a ceremony hosted at the Conrad New York in New York City. The Festival runs through April 28, 2013.

The world competition winners for narrative and documentary films were chosen from 12 narrative and 12 documentary features from 14 countries. Best New Director prizes were awarded to a first-time director for both narrative and documentary films,...

Irish singer Ronan Keating and actress Magda Szubanski have joined the cast of the musical romantic comedy Goddess , which will feature more than 15 songs.

“The script will make the most of the vocal talents of Ronan and [female lead] Laura Michelle Kelly, as the songs are the centre-piece of the script. The office is abuzz with excitement as we prepare to start shooting in a few weeks’ time,” said Fsm’s Steve Dunn, who will act as executive producer.

Goddess will be directed by Mark Lamprell and produced by Richard Keddie. Fsm has invested in the film and will manage data on set, as well as VFX, digital intermediates and post-production.

Judy Morris will be the musical director.

Production will begin in April, shooting in Sydney, Tasmania and in the studio. The film will be completed by December.

Post-production company Fsm has revealed it will work on a local musical romantic comedy, Goddess.com, a “multi-million dollar film” scheduled to shoot in April.

“It’s one of the biggest and most interesting Australian films we have been involved with, and our activity is across the board, including being on set doing all the data wrangling,” said Fsm founder and executive producer Steve Dunn.

Goddess.com will be directed by Mark Lamprell and produced by Richard Keddie and Andrena Finlay. Fsm is doing doing workflow tests, and will do VFX, Di and the full post pathway for the film.

The film’s working title was The Goddess, and it received development funding from Screen Australia and Screen New South Wales in late 2009.

Fsm has previously invested in local films Beautiful Kate and Griff the Invisible. According to a spokesperson, the company has invested in Goddess.com as well.

The role of the data wrangler in a digital shoot has been underestimated by the Australian screen industry, according to Fsm executive producer Steve Dunn.

“From the start no one considered what was necessary and the job role has evolved. Indeed the position of Digital Imaging Technicial (Dit) – I hate that term – has come out of necessity,” Dunn told Encore.

According to Dunn, sometimes there is not much for the wrangler to do and they get used as camera assistants: “Maybe this is a cost cutting issue as well.”

“Many people still think that shooting on digital in whatever form is just so easy and cheap. Shoot it, pop it into a laptop and edit it. Of course you can do that but shouldn’t you be checking what you have done? Shouldn’t you be checking exposure, focus and the integrity of the digital image?
