Robert Duncan and Neil Pearson in Drop the Dead Donkey (1990)
Robert Duncan was born on July 27, 1952 in Cornwall, England, UK. He trained to be a journalist, and worked for the Cornish Reporter. He made his television debut starring alongside the late Nyree Dawn Porter, and Ian Hendry in the ITV daytime drama For Maddie with Love. He went on to guest star in some of Britain's leading series, such as Boon, Eastenders, The Bill, London's Burning, and after a successful appearance on Casualty, became a semi-regular in season 11 playing Peter Hayes. In addition to his guest spots, Robert had a major role in the made for television movie Mr. White Goes to Westminster (1997). He will perhaps be best known for his wonderfully hilarious portrayal of the hapless, and often to be felt sorry for newsroom Chief Executive Gus Hedges on the double International Emmy Award winning sitcom Drop the Dead Donkey (1990).

Robert's many theatre credits include, "Educating Rita", Tom Stoppard's "Rough Crossing", "Twelfth Night", "Don't Dress for Dinner", "Having a Ball", "Time and Time Again", and "Henry IV". Two of his personal favorites were playing Mr. Rochester in "Jane Eyre", and Stanley Kawalski in "A Streetcar Named Desire". On stage, he is also a regular in Pantomime, and has been in Dick Whittington, Mother Goose, Peter Pan, and on separate occasions, has played both the Dame, and villain in the always-popular Jack and the Beanstalk. As well as being seen on stage, and screen, he can frequently be heard on radio. Robert is Scumspawn in BBC Radio 4's Old Harry's Game, which won the Best Light Entertainment Award at the British Comedy Awards in 1998. Also, he took the role of Mike in Life, Death, and Sex with Mike, and Sue, again for BBC Radio 4.

In his spare time, Robert is a keen sportsman, and particularly enjoys golfing, cricket, and going to Tottenham Hotspur football/soccer matches. He currently resides in Hertfordshire with his partner, former model, and professional photographer Jean Havilland.
