Drake paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne during his tour stop in the metal legend’s hometown of Birmingham, England, on Wednesday evening.
The rapper walked out to Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man,” the 1970 hit track about a time-traveling metal monster off Paranoid. Taking the stage, Drake addressed the thousands gathered at Utilita Arena Birmingham, as fan footage captured: “Hey Birmingham! Rest in peace to the legendary Ozzy Osbourne.”

Black Sabbath co-founders Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward have posted tributes to their bandmate Ozzy Osbourne Tuesday, hours after the Prince of Darkness died at age 76.
“I just can’t believe it! My dear dear friend Ozzy has passed away only weeks after our show at Villa Park,” Iommi wrote on X on Tuesday. “It’s just such heartbreaking news that I can’t really find the words, there won’t ever be another like him. Geezer, Bill and myself have lost our brother. My thoughts go out to Sharon and all the Osbourne family. Rest in peace Oz.”
As Butler wrote in an Instagram post of his own: “Goodbye dear friend- thanks for all those years- we had some great fun. 4 kids from Aston- who’d have thought, eh? So glad we got to do it one last time, back in Aston. Love you.”
Where will I find you now?...

Some of the biggest names in the music and entertainment industry are paying tribute to Ozzy Osbourne after his family confirmed the news of his death earlier Tuesday.
Osbourne died at 76 following years of health issues, just weeks after he played his final show in Birmingham, United Kingdom, where he reunited with Black Sabbath. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time,” Osbourne’s family said.
“The whole world is mourning Ozzy tonight,” Alice Cooper said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “Over his long career, he earned immense respect among his peers and from fans around the world as an unmatched showman and cultural icon. I always saw Ozzy as a cross between the prince of darkness, which is the persona his fans saw, and the court jester.

“It was our Woodstock, but better,” Nile Rodgers asserts in Live Aid: When Rock ’n’ Roll Took on the World, referring to the all-star charity concerts broadcast around the world 40 years ago. Boomers may quibble, even with the presence of Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, and a reunited Led Zeppelin at those shows. But when it came to ambition, funds raised, and global cooperation, Rodgers has a point.

In July 1985, the biggest movie in the country was “Back to the Future.” The number one song was “A View to a Kill” by Duran Duran, from the James Bond movie of the same name. A large number of the movies listed in the top 10 the weekend of July 19, even beyond the obvious “Back to the Future,” offer a murderer’s row of movies we still talk about today: “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome,” “Cocoon,” “Rambo: First Blood Part II,” “St. Elmo’s Fire.” Just for good measure, “E.T.” was re-released into theaters that weekend.

An event like Live Aid exists in the cultural memory less as a historical fact and more as a piece of modern mythology. To revisit it 40 years on, as the BBC’s documentary series does, is to risk puncturing a legend. Live Aid: When Rock ‘n’ Roll Took on the World thankfully avoids simple nostalgia.
Instead, it positions the phenomenon as a cultural artifact born of a specific, peculiar moment in time. The series begins not with a triumphant guitar riff, but with the broadcast that started it all: Michael Buerk’s stark report on the Ethiopian famine.
The footage feels like an alien transmission, cutting through the neon-drenched, synthesizer-heavy fug of 1980s pop culture. This documentary frames the subsequent musical uprising not as a simple charity drive, but as a frantic, ambitious, and deeply flawed experiment.

Sabrina Carpenter played two nights at London’s BST Hyde Park over the weekend, and she gave fans a surprise treat on Sunday by welcoming Duran Duran for a performance of the classic “Hungry Like the Wolf.”
After making the audience howl at the moon, Carpenter brought new wave icons Simon Le Bon and John Taylor onto the stage to uproarious applause. She backed up Le Bon throughout “Hungry Like the Wolf” before taking on the second verse herself.

Elsewhere during the set, Clairo (who had opened the evening) and The Bear star Ayo Edebiri (who directed Clairo’s “Weird Al”-starring “Terrapin” music video) cameoed as Carpenter’s latest “Juno” girls. As the cameras cut to the pair, however, they started doing Charli Xcx’s “Apple” dance. “So it’s close, it’s just a different show,” quipped Carpenter as she mumble-sang a few “Apple” lines.

Sometimes, filming a soap doesn’t go as planned. Anything can happen. Michelle Stafford revealed a glamour emergency she had while on the set of The Young and the Restless. Her glam team made it work, and the results are breathtaking.
Making Magic
Stafford is among an incredible cast and crew who put effort into everything they do. She creates magic whenever she plays her onscreen portrayer, Phyllis Newman. However, Stafford suffered a beauty blooper that could’ve nearly ruined a scene. She chopped off her hair while filming an ongoing scene. That’s when hairstylist Lauren Mendoza came to Stafford’s rescue.

After winning his second best actor Oscar, Adrien Brody took on a new role at the amfAR Cannes Gala on Thursday night — that of an artist.
Brody, who has previously called painting his “first love,” took the stage at the star-studded auction to present a mixed media piece he created of Marilyn Monroe — and demanded the chatty crowd’s attention. Sporting a sparkly black suit, the actor shushed the crowd as he got on stage in a moment reminiscent of his now-infamous five-minute Oscars speech. “Please, for a moment, I know it’s a big room,” he said.
He then explained his inspiration behind the piece, saying that it represents “what Marilyn’s life did not afford her”: “To live a life fully and to cherish all the moments and the imperfections in life.”
Brody continued, “Women are so often objectified in the media and on social media. They...

At a 78th Cannes, which on the party side wasn’t as noisy as previous ones with drone shows (2022’s Elvis) and Elton John performing on the beach (2019’s Rocketman), leave it to amfAR’s 31st fashionista blowout Cannes Gala at Hotel Du Cap at Eden Roc to steal the show. This year fundraiser for the AIDS research foundation racked up $17M+ in an auction of art pieces and experiences with performances by Ciara, Adam Lambert’s sublime Queen covers, and Duran Duran closing with “Notorious” and “View to a Kill”.
Simon Le Bon is hungry like a wolf at amfAR’s 2025 Cannes Gala Adam Lambert has no pressure singing Queen.

Set in 1994, 1978, and 1666, respectively, Leigh Janek’s Fear Street trilogy is, in many ways, a perfect encapsulation of the streaming era. The films’ period settings are little more than justifications for needle drops, while the costuming and set design are so broad in their presentation that the characters feel like modern teens dressed up in historical drag. For the first two films in particular, the reference points are closer to Stranger Things, Bridgerton, and American Horror Story than to the slasher films of the mid ’90s or late ’70s, and the same can be said of the series’ newest incarnation, the 1988-set Fear Street: Prom Queen.
Also based on R.L. Stine’s long-running book series, Prom Queen continues the earlier films’ offbeat, often awkward melding of YA drama and R-rated gore, here set to the tunes of Bananarama, Billy Idol, Tiffany, and Duran Duran, among others. The Shadyside-versus-Sunnydale town rivalry...

If the Cannes Film Festival were a building, it would be the Carlton.
The iconic hotel, with its Belle Époque balustrades and twin cupola domes, its combination of old world elegance and over-the-top extravagance, is a manifestation — in limestone, stucco and pink marble — of the Cannes festival brand. “I often hear people compare the Carlton to the Eiffel Tower,” says Carlton Hotel general manager Pierre-Louis Renou. “On one hand, it’s gigantic, but on the other so immaculate. It’s kind of a monument to the glamour of Cannes.”
The first-ever Cannes festival was held at the Carlton Casino in 1946 — well before they built the Palais — and the Carlton has played a supporting, occasionally starring, role in the history of the festival ever since. The first Cannes celebrity photo-op? The best promotional stunts? The biggest backroom deals? They all happened at the Carlton.

Ahead of her directorial debut, ask the actor about her 00s romcoms, working with Heath Ledger and Julia Roberts and whether she is still a Duran Duran fan
Julia Stiles has been on our screens for almost three decades. After studying theatre in New York as a child, Stiles was cast as a disturbed teenager in the 1998 Michael Steinberg thriller Wicked. This led to her break-out role as the antisocial older sister of Larisa Oleynik and potential girlfriend of bad boy Heath Ledger in the 1999 Shakespeare-influenced 10 Things I Hate About You (based on The Taming of the Shrew). On screen, she then dated Freddie Prinze Jr in Down to You, and swapped ballet for hip-hop with Sean Patrick Thomas in Save the Last Dance.
As Stiles grew up, so did her characters. She played a young assistant to Betty Rizzo from Grease (Stockard Channing) in The Business of Strangers.

The 2025 Oscars were shaken (not stirred) by the most famous spy in the world.
Sunday’s 97th annual Academy Awards ceremony featured a tribute to James Bond and the franchise’s long-running history of legendary and Oscar-nominated and -winning theme songs, including winner “Skyfall” (which was performed and cowritten by Adele)
The Bond franchise has received six Oscar nominations for its many indelible songs, including “Live and Let Die” from 1973’s Live and Let Die (performed by Wings and cowritten by Paul and Linda McCartney), “Nobody Does It Better” from 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me (performed and written by Carly Simon), and “For Your Eyes Only” from 1981’s For Your Eyes Only (performed by Sheena Easton and written by Bill Conti and Mick Leeson). Famous tracks performed by Shirley Bassey (“Goldfinger”), Nancy Sinatra (“You Only Live Twice”), and Duran Duran (“A View to a Kill”) were snubbed by the Academy.

The James Bond franchise got its own moment at the 2025 Oscars with a medley dedicated to the films and performed by Lisa, Doja Cat and Raye, with a preamble by Margaret Qualley in the form of a dance to the movie’s theme. Lisa sang a snippet of “Live and Let Die” while showing off her own dance moves, Doja took on “Diamonds are Forever,” originally sung by Shirley Bassey, and Raye sang “Skyfall,” for which Adele won an Oscar in 2012.

Get ready to shake your martinis to the iconic sounds of James Bond theme songs, as the longtime producers of the seminal cinematic franchise are set to be honored with a musical tribute at the 97th annual Academy Awards. According to reports, producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson will be honored on the main stage after receiving their own Honorary Oscars at the Governors Awards.
In a new report from Variety — though the Academy Awards themselves have not yet commented on the matter — it was confirmed that Wicked will not be the only musical moment to take place during Sunday's Oscar ceremony. Though details on specifics remain scarce, Variety had this to say about what they did know about the musical moment:

Paramount+ is ready to rock — and they've released over 125 episodes of musical performances to its streaming service to prove it. Coming at you from the other Viacom-owned properties like MTV Unplugged, VH1 Storytellers, and CMT Crossroads, many of the episodes haven't been seen since they first aired. And with a list of performances that includes the likes of Elton John, Neil Young, Mariah Carey, Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan, and even Nirvana's now-iconic November 1993 performance — which aired a mere seven months before the singer Kurt Cobain died — the list is a treasure trove for any music fan.
According to a press release from the streamer, more than 70 of the episodes have not been available to the public for more than 20 years. And, considering how much purging of content Paramount Global has done over the years, it's a relief to see that some things still get saved in the digital age.

Why Was This 80s Star Paid A Huge Amount To Hang Out With Hugh Grant? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
In the 2000s, Martin Fry, ABC’s lead singer, was allegedly paid a handsome amount to hang out with Hugh Grant while filming Music and Lyrics. Fry helped Grant perfect his 80s singer moves for the role, admitting he was “paid very well for doing very little,” though he won’t reveal the amount.
This throwback to the early 2000s sheds light on how far Fry’s fortunes have come. While his pop career might have peaked with hits like The Look of Love, he’s made savvy financial decisions that have set him up for the long haul. The biggest of these? Buying property.

According to Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes, the band “unlocked an unexpected box of curiosity and creativity” when they started making their 2023 album, Danse Macabre. Now, the latest product of that newfound energy has arrived: “New Moon (Dark Phase),” a reimagined version of their 1984 song “New Moon On Monday.”
Released as a single ahead of the upcoming deluxe re-release of Danse Macabre, “New Moon (Dark Phase)” swaps out the original’s pulsing ‘80s synths with a more ethereal, modern arrangement, featuring contributions from former band member, Andy Taylor. Throughout, vocalist Simon Le Bon carries the melody, gracefully slipping into his upper register on the verses and delivering the chorus’ catchy hook.

Speaking about the release in a new statement, Rhodes explained that the inspiration sparked with Danse Macabre “was somehow still lingering,” which led the band to return to the studio for even more recording.

“You’ve gone too far this time / But I’m dancing on the Valentine / I tell you somebody’s fooling around / With my chances on the danger line.” Those were the opening lyrics to “The Reflex” by the English new wave band Duran Duran. And 40 years ago this summer they helped the group score their first number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100. “The Reflex” may have been a “lonely child,” but the song propelled the group to unparalleled popularity at the time.
Originally formed in Birmingham, England, in 1978, Duran Duran actually had a bit of a rough start in their quest for mainstream success in the United States. None of the songs from their 1981 self-titled debut album made the Billboard chart, though “Planet Earth” and “Girls on Film” reached number-12 and number-five in the United Kingdom, respectively.

Hollywood is a haven for hybrids — from film genres and cuisines to actor/singer/content creators — but what about an art space/boutique/newsstand mashup? Wait, didn’t newsstands go the way of the dodo?
Not completely. A decades-old newsstand at 8224 Sunset Blvd. has been resurrected as the Kiosk-o-thèque by one Arman Naféei, very much a hybrid himself. The Berliner turned Londoner graduated university in London, then morphed into a major DJ by age 15.
“Then I wanted to go move to N.Y.,” he tells The Hollywood Reporter. So he switched it up again, becoming the mix master of nightlife magic for New York’s famed Boom Boom Room: “I grew my own cultural network over time,” the enterprising Naféei explains. “Fashion people, film, music and art — all feeding off each other, artist to artist conversations. That’s what I relish. I’m all about the culture.”

“If you’re lost, you can look and you will find me / Time after time / If you fall, I will catch you, I’ll be waiting / Time after time.”
Those are some of the lyrics from Cyndi Lauper’s iconic song “Time After Time.” Co-written by Lauper and Rob Hyman, it was the second single from the singer’s debut album, “She’s So Unusual.” And 40 years ago this month, “Time After Time” became her first number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100.

While Henry Cavill awaits his destiny as Agent 007 in the James Bond films, the producers are reportedly looking at changing up a different aspect of the legendary spy franchise. According to a source, producer Barbara Broccoli is looking at artists such as Bruno Mars and The Weeknd to produce the theme song of the next Bond film.
The James Bond films have always featured an original song for their grand opening credits sequences. Three of these songs have won Oscars in the past, including Adele’s ‘Skyfall’, Sam Smith’s ‘Writing’s on the Wall’, and Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell’s ‘No Time To Die’. The new Bond film might have a change in style due to the artists the production is eyeing.

It’s been over 18 months since we first shared the news of Sydney Sweeney’s plans to produce and star in a reboot of Roger Vadim’s cult 1968 sci-fi Barbarella. Since then, Sweeney’s star has risen and risen, with the Euphoria sensation releasing a slew of films including rom-com Anyone But You, erotic thriller The Voyeurs, and nunsploitation flick Immaculate, leaving ol’ Barb on the back burner. But now it looks like Sweeney has found the right stuff to finally get the project off the ground. The Wright stuff, in fact.
According to Deadline, none other than Cornetto Trilogy mastermind Edgar Wright is in talks to helm the remake. Reportedly Wright has been circling the film for some time, meeting with Sweeney shortly after the remake was announced and expressing an interest in developing the project in a directorial capacity. And whilst both prospective director and star are exceptionally...

A fun game those of legal drinking age can play while watching Roger Vadim's surreal/sexy 1968 Eurotrash space romp "Barbarella": take a drink every time Barbarella (Jane Fonda) changes costumes. One will be blindingly intoxicated by the 20-minute mark. "Barbarella" takes place in the distant future wherein the President of Earth (Claude Dauphin) has tasked the title heroine, a freelance space captain, to locate and retrieve Durand-Durand (Milo O'Shea) a scientist who has invented the positronic ray, a weapon of massive destructive power. Barbarella must trek through a picaresque adventure, stopping to be savaged by killer dolls, locked into an orgasm machine (!), and to befriend a friendly angel (John Philip Law). The film was based on the bawdy 1966 French comic by Jean-Claude Forest.

Ministry’s Al Jourgensen Despised His Debut Album. Forty Years Later, He’s Finally Playing the Songs
It took a conspiracy to get Ministry frontman Al Jourgensen to come around to his band’s debut album, the proudly commercial, synth-pop juggernaut With Sympathy. The vocalist has spent the past four decades separating himself from the LP, since he alleges his label at the time, Arista, and its founder, Clive Davis, pressured him into constructing a surefire Billboard hit. He has felt so embarrassed by the whole thing that he left the label and has charged fans $1,000 just for him to autograph copies of the record. Now for the first time in decades,...

Robinne Lee, the author of The Idea of You, regrets initially stating that the story was inspired by Harry Styles.
In a new interview, Lee explains why the fictional British boy band member, Hayes Campbell, was not just inspired by the former One Direction member after many have compared it to writing fan fiction.
“I don’t consider it fan fiction at all,” Lee said in an interview with EW. “Harry was one of multiple people who went into creating Hayes Campbell — he was the only one in a British boy band that was current at the time, I guess, and so that’s what people have latched onto. It’s unfortunate because it’s being used as clickbait, and when I’m writing for Hayes, I’m not picturing Harry Styles.”
Lee said that the fictional character, played by Nicholas Galitzine in the Prime Video film, us a combination of many real-life people.

The new movie The Idea of You is based on the best-selling book by Robinne Lee and it has often been considered to be “Harry Styles fan fiction,” something that she doesn’t feel is an accurate way to describe her work.

Robinne once mentioned that she drew inspiration from Harry Styles for lead character Hayes Campbell, which led to fans labeling the book as fan fiction.
Now, Robinne explains why she regrets ever bringing up the Harry inspiration.

More than 250 artists, including Billie Eilish, Green Day, Sia and Cyndi Lauper, signed a letter Thursday urging the Senate Commerce Committee to support a bill that would reform the ticketing system for live events.
The Fans First Act, which was initially introduced in December by Sens. John Cornyn, Amy Klobuchar, Marsha Blackburn, Peter Welch, Roger Wicker and Ben Ray Lujan, aims to address flaws in the current live event ticketing system. The bill hopes to increase transparency in ticket sales, protect consumers from fake or overpriced tickets, and hold those who engage in illegal ticket sale practices accountable.
“As artists and members of the music community, we rely on touring for our livelihood, and we value music fans above all else,” the letter said in part. “We are joining together to say that the current system is broken: predatory resellers and secondary platforms engage in deceptive ticketing practices to inflate...
