Cote de Pablo Declined Intimacy Coordinator for NCIS: Tiva Spinoff: ‘Michael and I Have a Lot of Trust’
Image
It’s no spoiler to say that in Paramount+’s upcoming NCIS: Tony & Ziva spinoff, things can get steamy between the titular, on-again/off-again couple.

In the international spinoff that reunites NCIS vets Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo on-screen for the first time since October 2013, Tony and Ziva have been raising tweenage Tali (played by The Outlaws’ Isla Gie), together, in Paris — though apparently not together together.

‘NCIS’ Star Cote de Pablo Rejected Intimacy Coordinator for ‘Tony & Ziva’ Because ‘We Don’t Want to Be Micromanaged’; Michael Weatherly Left Choice Up to Her
Image
“NCIS” favorite Cote de Pablo recently told TV Insider that she turned down the offer to use an intimacy coordinator with co-star Michael Weatherly on their upcoming franchise sequel series “NCIS: Tony & Ziva,” which debuts in September on Paramount+. The two actors were series regulars together on CBS’ flagship “NCIS” series for 12 seasons.

“Did not need one,” de Pablo said when asked about intimacy coordinators. “They asked me first, I think because I’m a female and blah, blah, blah, and I said, ‘I don’t need one. Thank you for offering.'”

“Michael and I have a lot of trust with each other and are great friends,” she added. “So, when it comes to shooting these things we don’t want to be micromanaged. We like to explore it, and we trust each other enough that we allow that to happen.”

Weatherly echoed her thoughts by telling TV Insider: “I said,...

Jensen Ackles May Have Slipped In a 93%-Rated Easter Egg in Prime Video’s Countdown
Image
Prime Video’s latest thriller, Countdown, starring Jensen Ackles, has only just premiered, but fans are already digging deep. The series brings Ackles to play a new role as a detective in a high-octane crime drama. But it didn’t take long for viewers to spot something oddly familiar.

A single scene sparked speculation and sent longtime Supernatural fans into a frenzy. Was it really an intense moment or a clear nod to Ackles’ beloved character in Supernatural? It hits just the right nostalgic nerve. As it turns out, things aren’t as clear-cut as they seem. However, Ackles also has some updates for Supernatural fans.

Before Smallville, Jensen Ackles Nearly Joined a 39%-Rated Cult Drama With Eliza Dushku
Image
Sometimes the wrong choices bring us to the right places. This actually hits harder, especially when you realize Jensen Ackles, the gruff-yet-golden icon of Supernatural, almost ended up romancing corpses on Fox’s series Tru Calling. Yes, before embodying Jason Teague in Smallville, Ackles had a near miss with a show that scored a frigid 39% on Rotten Tomatoes.

For those who are not aware, Tru Calling is a supernatural drama starring Eliza Dushku, where cadavers whisper secrets and time rewinds like a rejected mixtape. So why did Ackles skip a love story with Dushku for football fields and Kryptonian crystals in Smallville? Who made the final call? Here’s the whole story!

14 Celebrities Who Were Arrested in the Middle of a Performance or Production

Despite obscenity laws having been relaxed by then, Pryor was arrested for breaking a “foul language” ordinance directly after a show in what many have seen as a clearly racist act. It was the same year Blazing Saddles came out, and as comedy historian Kliph Nesteroff put it, “All the words that are in Blazing Saddles are the same words that he got arrested for saying onstage.”

13 Robert Downey Jr.

Downey was brought on to Ally McBeal after a stint in rehab and prison, because the show needed a bad boy for a ratings boost. It worked, but their bad boy got badder, and was arrested for drug-related offenses two more times before the show finally parted ways with him.

Fubar Season 2 Review — The Action Falters and the Comedy Flops
Image
Anyone who remotely likes movies has likely fallen in love with Arnold Schwarzenegger. His mere presence on screen usually meant we were about to watch an explosive action showcase that would be worth watching a dozen times. Unfortunately, Fubar continues to be a warning sign for other action stars to stay away from their former glory. Using as much nostalgia as possible and attempting to infuse the traditional action set pieces with half-hearted comedy, the Netflix series remains a tonal mess. Even its Oscar-nominated actress, Monica Barbaro, and the inclusion of Carrie-Anne Moss cannot resuscitate this show.

Fubar Season 2 Plot

Luke Brunner (Schwarzenegger) and his team remain in hiding under the same roof after they were burned last season. While he reconnects with his ex-wife, Tally (Fabiana Udenio), the rest of the team is forced to listen to their intimate moments. Emma (Barbaro) grows stir crazy while former love interests...

This Buffy the Vampire Slayer Star Might Not Return for the Sequel Series Due to Major Career Change
Image
Buffy the Vampire Slayer premiered almost three decades ago, and its impact on television is undeniable. The series was a huge staple for other fantasy shows, and it was also hailed for its feminist impact.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer also launched the careers of many of its stars, who are now forever tied to the roles in the fantasy hit series. After many years of conversations, Buffy will receive a sequel series, with Sarah Michelle Gellar reprising her role as the titular character. So far, it's unclear who else will make an appearance, but it's likely Eliza Dushku won't be among the returning cast, as she celebrated a major career change on Instagram over the weekend.

We Can Hate Joss Whedon but a Key ‘Firefly’ Detail Makes Its Cancelation Even More Heartbreaking After 23 Years
Image
Firefly creator Joss Whedon may have fallen from grace after the serious accusations against him, but his creative genius in the Western space show won over many fans. While the ratings of the show during its run did not do justice to its quality, it only rose in popularity in the following 23 years. A key detail about the cast speaks volumes about Whedon’s work.

The stars of the show, Nathan Fillion, Morena Baccarin, Gina Torres, and Alan Tudyk, have all gone on to build great careers in successful sci-fi projects. It meant that the 2002 show could’ve gone places if Fox provided favorable conditions for its run. Sadly, the cult show didn’t get enough support from Fox from the get-go.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Says 'Buffy' Stars' Kids Auditioned For Reboot
Image
Even nepo-babies have to audition, folks. And it seems as though they are, in droves, for the upcoming Buffy The Vampire Slayer sequel series. According to Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alyson Hannigan — a.k.a. Buffy Summers and Willow Rosenberg, respectively — there have been more than one original cast member from the iconic teen series whose now-teen kids have auditioned for the latest iteration. Now: who wants to play a little game of "speculate and find out," eh?

The news came about during an interview between the two actresses and Us Weekly. During their sit-down with the publication, Hannigan let out a teasing bit of information, saying, "I know somebody who auditioned for something on the show." To which Gellar replied, "I know somebody who was on the show whose child auditioned for the show. I know a few people from the show whose children came in." This, of course,...

“That’s incredibly frustrating to me”: Why Joss Whedon Hated ‘Twilight’ After Making ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ With Sarah Michelle Gellar
Image
Joss Whedon hated every vampire show that came after his seminal work, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The reason, though it has some truth to it, will raise your eyebrow since it came from Whedon. The creator explained that the central female characters in works like Twilight and The Vampire Diaries had more of a passive role in their respective stories, unlike Buffy.

Whedon’s protagonist, played by Sarah Michelle Gellar, was not just at the center of Buffy‘s plot, but she was also instrumental in driving it. She is a descendant of the Vampire Slayers, who battle vampires, demons, and other forces of darkness.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Says 'Buffy' Revival "Moving Faster Than Expected"
Image
A Buffy Summers comeback is on the horizon, and it may be happening sooner than anticipated. Sarah Michelle Gellar is set to return for the as-yet-untitled Buffy the Vampire Slayer revival series, which is nearing a pilot order at Hulu. Gellar will reprise her role and executive produce. And in a recent interview, she gave fans many reasons to be excited.

And while Gellar won't lead the upcoming series — the show is set to follow a new slayer, after all — it remains a mystery if any of the other original cast members will return to reprise their roles. Sadly, we know that we won't see an on-screen family reunion between Buffy and her sister Dawn, as Michelle Trachtenberg, who depicted the younger Summers sister, passed away last month. While speaking with People, Gellar delivered the good news, as well as a call for patience from fans who are eagerly awaiting...

'Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Wildest Swing Would've Failed Without Michelle Trachtenberg's Incredible Range

One of the biggest swings in television history happens in Season 5 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. After four seasons with Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) – the Chosen One, the Slayer, and demonstrably an only child — the show introduces a little sister. Dawn's arrival (Michelle Trachtenberg) is actually foreshadowed as early as Season 3, alongside Buffy’s eventual death in “The Gift,” the other huge swing in Season 5 — first by Faith (Eliza Dushku), “Little Miss Muffet counting down from 7-3-0,” as she and Buffy make up a bed for “little sis,” then by Tara (Amber Benson), who tells Buffy to “be back before Dawn.&rdquo...

10 shows (and 5 movies) to watch if you're loving Severance
Image
One of the hottest TV shows on right now is Severance. The Apple TV+ drama has become a critical darling and fan favorite thanks to its unique setup. It revolves around the employees of a mysterious corporation who endure the daily grind of a soulless office job. The twist is that whenever they leave the office, they completely forget who they were and what they were doing. As their two personas blur, they have to figure out the truth about their double lives.

It's fascinating to watch actors change their "innie" to "outie" characters. Severance is mainly a drama, but it also sneaks in a lot of humor as it satirizes the bleakness of modern corporate life.

There are a lot of shows and movies like Severance out there. If you love Severance, you have to try these 10 shows and five movies with the same style and feel.

10 Things Buffy the Vampire Slayer Fans Want to See in the Reboot Show
Image
As recently revealed, Hulu is working on a reboot of the timeless classic that is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. A pilot is currently being developed by director Chloé Zhao, and writers Nora and Lila Zuckerman, and Sarah Michelle Gellar is slated to reprise her role as Buffy Summers. The pilot will serve as a direct continuation of the seven-season series and will primarily follow a brand-new Slayer.

Fans can't wait for the upcoming Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, but it will need more than Sarah Michelle Gellar's involvement to be a success. The Buffy fandom is famously enduring and passionate, and expectations for the new series are incredibly high. While the reboot should strive to stand on its own, it will never be able to escape the original series' shadow, and the best way for it to please fans will be to learn from its predecessor's example.

This 24-Year-Old Buffy the Vampire Slayer Episode Had the Stars' Best Performances (& It Included Multiple Subtle References)
Image
Body-swapping is a common trope in movies and TV shows. Whether through science or magic, having characters switch places and face living life as someone else can make for a great story and offer new insights into the beliefs and feelings of those involved. It can also give actors a chance to show off their range by taking on a completely different role for a brief time, playing an already established character with their own mannerisms and style. Buffy the Vampire Slayer managed to accomplish all of these things while advancing ongoing plots with the Season 4 episode, "Who Are You?"

The previous episode, "This Year's Girl," had concluded with Faith, recently awoken from a coma, using a device left to her by the Mayor, to switch bodies with Buffy. Now on the run from the Watcher's Council, Buffy, in Faith's body, was faced with finding a way to reverse the...

Sarah Michelle Gellar is a great start, but what else do diehard Buffy fans want to see in potential reboot series?
Image
With news of a possible Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot (sequel?) series coming to Hulu in the future, fans of the series are cautiously excited, especially since Sarah Michelle Gellar has expressed interest in reprising her iconic role. But, we are also obviously a little worried that our favorite Chosen One may not be treated in the way we want her to be, right?

The ground-breaking series ran for seven seasons from 1997 to 2003, even changing networks at one point, and fans like yours truly were along for the entire exhilarating ride. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was unique in a number of ways. It was a spinoff of a film with the same title, which was written by Joss Whedon – a film that received lackluster reviews. Whedon himself was very unhappy with the changes that were made to his original script, and was thrilled at the chance to make it what he had originally envisioned.

Every Major Buffy The Vampire Slayer Villain Ranked
Image
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is famous for its blend of comedy and drama, silly rubber monster suits, and '90s dance sequences. But it's perhaps most famous of all for its villains. That's not just because they're super memorable, but also because of how the use of seasonal villains on "Buffy" completely changed the way most serialized TV was written. That format will surely continue in the recently reported "Buffy" sequel series at Hulu.

The concept of the "Big Bad" of a season overshadowing all the smaller "monster of the week" episodes and tying together a cohesive story with a climactic finale every year basically came from "Buffy." That narrative model, which had worked in various forms in the comic book medium for years, gave the show a distinctive feel on TV in the late '90s and early 2000s. It also became hugely influential for the whole medium of dramatic television.

Michael Weatherly Asked a “Couple of Key Questions” to Dr. Phil After Leaving NCIS for Another CBS Series

Walking away from NCIS after over a decade? Yeah, that’s not the kind of move you make on a whim. Michael Weatherly knew he had a big decision on his hands, so he did what any logical person would — he went straight to Dr. Phil for some real talk. Because let’s be honest, leaving behind Tony Dinozzo to jump into a brand-new CBS show wasn’t exactly a no-brainer.

7 amazing sci-fi and fantasy shows that were canceled too soon
Image
Sci-fi and fantasy shows tend to flourish on television, because the serial structure gives them plenty of space to include expansive world-building. However, the genre often costs a lot of money to put on screen, and studios tend to be hesitant to continue producing a series unless it's a sure success.

Because of that, there are a ton of amazing TV shows that never had the chance to really get off the ground. For every Supernatural and Doctor Who, there are dozens of series that only got a season or two. Even some that got several seasons were hit by unexpected cancellations that made for rushed endings or unfulfilling cliffhangers.

The classic example will always be Firefly, which is held up as the cult classic that could have changed television if it had just been given the chance. But there are many other examples that fans got hooked on, just...

The Bring It On Movies In Chronological Order
Image
All seven of the Bring It On movies can be watched in release order or any order the audience chooses. The teen cheerleading comedy series began in 2000 with the release of the very first Bring It On movie, which was helmed by Ant-Man's Peyton Reed. The film follows high school cheer captain Torrance Shipman (Kirsten Dunst) as she scrambles to come up with an original routine for her team the Toros to perform at a national competition after discovering her predecessor plagiarized choreography from rival squad, the East Compton Clovers, led by Gabrielle Union’s Isis.

Although Bring It On was initially dismissed as just another teen comedy, it’s become a cult classic in the years since, thanks to its exploration of race, class, and cultural appropriation through the lens of the wealthy, suburban, and predominantly white Toros, and the low-income, inner-city and predominantly Black East Compton Clovers. 10 Xander Replacements Who Make Way More Sense for Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Scooby Gang
Image
The Scooby Gang in Buffy the Vampire Slayer is one of the most beloved teams of heroes in any television series. While its roster fluctuates over the course of seven seasons, nearly every character who joins Buffy Summers in her crusade against evil is an absolute fan-favorite. The biggest exception to this, of course, is the series' infamous male lead, Xander Harris.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans hate Xander Harris, and there are plenty of characters who deserved to be in the Scooby Gang more. Some characters are more deserving because of greater likability and popularity, while others simply would have been more useful. While Xander is selfish, mean, cruel, misogynistic, and all-around useless, these characters would all have brought something special to the Scoobies.

10 Unpopular TV Characters Everyone Eventually Realized Were Great All Along
Image
Audiences can be very quick to judge TV characters, to the point that their first impression can often turn out to be entirely wrong, with the realization that they were great all along. This can easily happen to characters who oppose the protagonist in some way, as viewers naturally root for the lead and see anyone who is blocking their goals as a threat. However, as the characters' motivations become clearer, everyone soon comes to the realization that they harshly and unfairly judged them.

Many of the best TV characters ever started off unpopular yet managed to redeem themselves throughout the series. In some cases, annoying TV characters managed to become fan favorites as viewers got to know and understand their backstories, motivations, and likable characteristics. The long-form nature of television has allowed for more nuanced portrayals of complex characters whose likable nature and positive traits only reveal themselves over...

Sarah Michelle Gellar is Now More Open to Returning to ’Buffy the Vampire Slayer’
Image
Everyone can change their mind, and it appears that Sarah Michelle Gellar could have done just that when it comes to her opinion on a possible revival of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The incredibly popular fantasy horror series that debuted almost three decades ago in 1997 has been circling a reboot or revival for almost six years now, but the idea has never managed to gain a foothold. Additionally, Gellar has frequently dismissed the idea of being involved in such a reboot if it did happen, but that could have changed.

During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Gellar addressed the idea of reviving Buffy, and now seems much more open to the idea. The change of heart appears to have partly been instigated by her latest role in Dexter: Original Sin. She explained to Barrymore:

“It's funny. I always used to say 'no', like, because, you know, it's in its bubble and so perfect.

Why Fox Canceled Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Image
People don't talk much about "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" these days. Maybe that's because it only lasted two seasons, the first of which was truncated to just nine episodes due to the 2007-2008 Writers Guild of America strike. Or maybe it was just an early sign of what later "Terminator" movies like "Salvation" and "Genisys" seemed to prove -- that in the wake of James Cameron leaving the franchise and the '80s aesthetic that once defined it dropping off, "Terminator" just wasn't that big of a hit anymore.

The shame, of course, is that "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" is actually pretty solid, unlike the aforementioned films. You'd think that after "Game of Thrones" made Lena Headey a global superstar, fans would be interested in going back and revisiting the high-concept sci-fi show she headlined just a few years before being cast as Cersei Lannister. Summer Glau also co-starred in the series,...

While Bull instantly became one of the network’s more popular shows upon its arrival, the show was also riddled with controversies, especially after Eliza Dushku’s surprising departure.

Image
In every generation, there are but a handful of cinematic productions that not only define the moment but continue to shine as a living monument to a different time. How To Watch The Bring It On Movies In Order
Image
After a fall-off in popularity (and quality) throughout much of the 1990s, teen-skewing comedies were suddenly all the rage in Hollywood again at the turn of the millennium. The "Pygmalion"-inspired "She's All That" kicked off the craze, which included such highs as "10 Things I Hate About You" and "Dick," and more lows than I care to remember. These films were quite clearly the offspring of John Hughes' 1980s classics, but they could rarely come close to the mix of insouciance and sentimentality that made his films snap. They also weren't very funny, which didn't help.

The best film of this brief renaissance by far was Peyton Reed's "Bring It On," which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2020. Working from a spiky-sexy-hilarious screenplay by Jessica Bendinger, Reed's movie kicks off with an exuberant opening cheer routine and never loses an ounce of zip on its way to a thrilling...

Diddy Once Warned Ashton Kutcher Not to Punk Him: ‘That Will Not End Well for You’
Image
Ashton Kutcher’s current relationship with old pal Diddy is — how do we say it? — uncomfortable. But the That ‘70s Show star should have known to walk away a long time ago. After all, Diddy warned him things could go sideways.

That threat goes back to the days of Punk’d, the MTV prank show Kutcher hosted from 2003 to 2007. The show was originally going to pull jokes on Everyday Joes, until an early prank involving a fake corpse (always hilarious!) resulted in a $10 million lawsuit against Kutcher, MTV and a Vegas hotel. The show was quickly retooled to punk celebrities like Frankie Muniz and Eliza Dushku.

As Kutcher and friends brainstormed new celebs to prank, someone came up with Sean Combs or whatever stage name he was rocking at the time. Lucky for Kutcher, word got to Diddy before any practical jokes were deployed.

On a 2018 episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden,...

Kurt Russell And His Son Played The Same Role Before Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters
Image
The Apple TV+ series "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters," like the film series that inspired it, skips around dramatically throughout history. Recall that "Kong: Skull Island," which came out after 2014's "Godzilla," was set mostly in 1973 after opening with a flashback to 1944. "Legacy of Monsters" likewise jumps back and forth a lot, exploring a present-day timeframe c. 2015 and a much earlier timeline set in the mid-1950s. To show the legacy of humans that work at Monarch -- the secret government agency assigned to oversee and wrangle kaiju -- both time frames feature the character Lee Shaw. In the 1950s, Shaw was one of the founding members of Monarch. In the '10s, he becomes re-immersed in Monarch after encountering the show's lead character, Cate (Anna Sawai).

In the 1950s, Shaw is played by Wyatt Russell, the star of "Overlord," "Everybody Wants Some!!," and "Night Swim." In the '10s segments,...
