Is Ms. Christmas Comes To Town Worth Watching? (& Where To Stream The Hallmark Movie)
Image
Ms. Christmas Comes to Town was one of Hallmarks 2023 Christmas movies, and was celebrated by viewers as one of the most heartfelt releases from the network in several years. Starring Barbara Niven as Gale, the titular Ms. Christmas, Ms. Christmas Comes to Town is the story of a shopping channel host who makes it her lifes mission to spread as much of the holiday spirit as she can a quest she embarks on due to receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis.

Alongside Barbara Niven, the cast of Ms. Christmas Comes to Town includes the likes of Erica Durance and Brennan Elliot, making it full of familiar faces that many fans of Hallmark Christmas movies will likely recognize. While its an incredibly emotional story, its also a funny one, and Nivens Gale is such an endearing on-screen presence that viewers will find her almost impossible not to love and, with her, the...

‘Damn Sea Vampires!’ DVD Review
Stars: Cassie Scerbo, Jonathan Lipnicki, Kevin Dobson, Brandon Beemer, Jaqueline Fleming, Jimmy Sweetwater, Lawrence Turner | Written by Brook Durham | Directed by Don E. FauntLeRoy

After seeing Cassie Scerbo’s fantastic performance in Sharknado I made it a point to track down and watch anything new movie she was in, which coupled with the ridiculous new re-titling (this film originally aired on Us television as Beasts of the Bering Sea), made Damn Sea Vampires! a must-watch. It doesn’t hurt that the film is also helmed by cinematographer Don E. FauntLeRoy – who cut his directorial teeth on two Anaconda sequels and a handful of Steven Seagal movies, including one of the star best post-2005 flicks, Renegade Justice (a personal fave).

Damn Sea Vampires! follows a family of treasure hunters: siblings Donna (Scerbo) and Joe and their father (Dobson), who spend their days dredging for gold beneath the Bering Sea. Having already lost a crew member,...

Felicia Day Interview For SyFy’s Red
Unfortunately, SyFy‘s Red: Werewolf Hunter hit in the midst of holiday and sporting options that took over the collective mindset, and the media push for the show was not quite what it might have been. An entertaining bit of fantasy fun somewhere in the “tradition” of SyFy’s other fable spins (Tin Man and Alice), Red: Werewolf Hunter stars new media sensation Felicia Day as a descendant of Little Red Riding Hood… sort of… or something.

The show will air again sometime in December, and Twitter clued me in earlier today that there are hopes it will be available online before that, so you will have a chance at it again, but the interview with Felicia Day was too interesting to let lie.

It was an especially interesting call, and necessarily edited though it may be, I tried to leave much of it as it happened. Well, plus, I...

SyFy's Red Trailer | Felicia Day: Werewolf Killer
Oh, how I want to love this. I mean, how could you not? Felicia Day, who is lovely and funny and a geek queen, starring in a movie about a family of werewolves? What's not to love? And it's showing on SyFy, who brought us "Battlestar Galactica" and "Eureka!" Plus, it's written by Brook Durham, who wrote... um... Witchslayer and Merlin and the Book of Beasts. And... uh... it's directed by Sheldon Wilson, who also did... Carny and... Screamers: The Hunting. And...

Shit.

This is gonna be a wreck, isn't it.

Yeah, that doesn't look so good. Not terrible werewolf effects, I'll give it that, but still... not exactly inspiring. Look, I love SyFy movies. I'm not being ironic -- I genuinely enjoy them, and have seen -- literally -- almost all of them. Yes, they're terrible, stupid, atrociously acted and feature hideous special effects. That's what's so glorious about them.

Trailer for Syfy's Werewolf Hunting Flick Red Starring Felicia Day
Considering there is a Hollywood action blockbuster titled Red starring Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, and John Malkovich opening in theaters in October, I would not be at all surprised if Syfy's upcoming werewolf flick Red, starring red hot Felicia Day, undergoes a title change between the time this trailer has been posted and whenever "coming soon" turns out to be.

Red puts a new spin on a classic fairy tale with Felicia Day ("Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-Long Blog", "The Guild") starring as a modern descendant of 'Little Red Riding Hood' who brings her fiancé home to meet the family for him to discover that his bride-to-be's ancestral business is hunting werewolves. When he himself gets bitten by a werewolf, "Red" is forced to try and save the wolfman she loves from her very own family.

Stephen McHattie (Pontypool, A History of Violence) and Kavan Smith ("Stargate: Atlantis", "The 4400...
