The hero wanders through his scenes, casually purposeful. His shirts fit like they were tailored for him, even though nothing about his particular kind of attractiveness suggests that he’s fussed over it. He keeps up a steady, teasing patter; the characters who aren’t his friends reveal themselves in their inability to keep up with him. When he finds himself in mortal danger, he quickly shakes it off. When a sexy lady crosses his path, he flirts exactly enough to intrigue her. What makes him cool, above all, is that we can tell coolness isn’t something he’s ever bothered to think about: his every move seems effortless. But if leading a show like Bad Monkey really were as easy as Vince Vaughn makes it look, everyone would do it.

Andrew Yancy (Vince Vaughn), the big-hearted, fast-talking cop at the center of Bad Monkey, has a way of stumbling into trouble. Based on Carl Hiassen’s 2013 bestselling novel of the same name, the series begins with a severed arm turning up in a tourist’s sport-fishing catch off the Florida Keys. Yancy’s boss, Sheriff Sonny Summers (Todd Allen Durkin), wants to avoid the hassle of an investigation and offers Yancy—who’s been suspended for assaulting the husband of his sometime girlfriend, Bonnie (Michelle Monaghan)—a deal: If he wants his badge back, he must make the arm (and the case) disappear.
The plan is upended when a suspicious woman named Eve Stripling (Meredith Hagner) turns up, tearfully claiming that the arm belongs to her late husband. Yancy’s curiosity is piqued, and what follows is a multi-plot romp involving insurance fraud, illegal property development in the Bahamas, and...

Have you ever tried to burn ants with a magnifying glass? It’s a bit sadistic, but that seems to be a desired quality to be a part of the Burn Notice team. How Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) and company can deconstruct a hard working stiff who just happens to be associated with a lowlife on Michael’s, Sam’s (Bruce Campbell), Jesse’s (Coby Bell) or worse, Fiona’s (Gabrielle Anwar) s-list is a work of art. That’s exactly what they did to Ross (Todd Allen Durkin) the head of security of James Forte (James Frain), the powerful CEO of Hlx Pharmaceuticals. Look, once James Frain walks onto a set, you know the hate level is gonna rise. He was recently a seething bastard in The Cape as Peter Fleming/Chess, Water For Elephants, and as Thomas Cromwell in The Tudors. Why do we hate him so much here?...
