In a brilliant move, Netflix will start streaming season six of “Orange is the New Black” on July 27, just days before Emmy voters cast their final ballots. Many elements of season five of “Oitnb” are certain to be nominated at this year’s Emmy Awards. The reviews for that block of 13 episodes of “Oitnb,” which took place over the three days of a prison riot spurred by the death of Poussey (Samira Wiley), were some of the strongest for the series to date.
Many reviewers made mention of the ambitiousness of the plan to plot 13 hours of drama over such a compressed time period.
