Two decades after the release of Save The Last Dance, stars Julia Stiles and Sean Patrick Thomas say they'd be open to revisiting the characters for a reunion as they reflect back upon the 2001 dance movie. Just days ago marked the 20th anniversary of the movie's premiere in theaters, and the two stars spoke about their experience working on the movie in an interview with E! News. When asked about the possibility of reprising their roles for a new project, Stiles and Thomas were open to the idea.

Julia Stiles joked, "I'm envisioning, like, me doing the Debbie Allen character in Fame, where now she's a dance teacher and she's smacking her cane against the ballet bar. And then, I don't know."

Code Black Films' "Frankie & Alice" has a new trailer up for the film which hits theaters April 4th. This one has been a long time coming and is in fact a 2010-produced film, which is helmed by Geoffrey Sax from the writing by Cheryl Edwards, Marko King, Mary King, Jonathan Watters, Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse. That's a lot of scribes. "Frankie & Alice" is inspired by the remarkable true story of an African American go-go dancer "Frankie" with multiple personalities (dissociative identity disorder or “Did”) who struggles to remain her true self while fighting against two very unique alter egos: a seven-year-old child named Genius and a Southern white racist woman named Alice. In order to stop the multiple voices in her head, Frankie (Berry) works together with a psychotherapist (Stellan Skarsgard) to uncover and overcome the mystery of the inner ghosts that haunt her.

The 42nd NAACP Awards Nominations follow below, and guess who stole the show? Well, it’s no surprise that Tyler Perry films would leave their mark but who knew it would be by a landslide? For Colored Girls topped the film category with seven nominations and Why Did I Get Married Too? has four.

The NAACP Image Awards honor accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature and film, as well as individuals who promote social justice through creative endeavors.

Perry is up for a film directing nod (For Colored Girls) alongside Geoffrey Sax (Frankie & Alice), George Tillman Jr. (Faster), Tanya Hamilton (Night Catches Us) and the Hughes Brothers (Book of Eli).

The show will be televised live, tonight, March 4, 2011 at 8/7 c, on the Fox Network.

Halle Berry shot her scenes for drama Frankie & Alice in 2008, but the movie’s release date has been pushed back several times, because, according to some sources, she was convinced the movie would “be buried on the shelf” and never hit the big screen.

Today we have a poster for the movie and here’s finally release date as well – Frankie & Alice will hit theaters NY/La on December 17th, and will go wide February 4, 2011.

This long-delayed film, which Berry also produced, starring Stellan Skarsgaard, Chandra Wilson, Phylicia Rashad, Emily Tennant, James Kirk, Kira Clavell, Christina Schild among others.

So, Frankie & Alice is the 1970s-set drama centers on a young woman with a personality disorder (Berry) who struggles to contain her racist alter-ego.

Well, I’ll be… Last we reported on this flick, in May, it was without a distributor and had screened for buyers at the Cannes Market.

Today, 5 months later, comes a report that Halle Berry, who is also a producer of the film, will be launching an awards season qualifying run the film, with Freestyle Releasing handling the distribution, while P&A will be funded by independent financiers.

The film now officially has a release date of December 17, but only in New York and Los Angeles, so that it qualifies for Academy Award consideration, and will open wider on February 4th. You know I’ll see it when it opens in NYC, with a review to follow.

Halle has reportedly been shepherding the project – described as a “passion project” for her, and a role that she herself considers her best work since Monster’s Ball – obviously, if she’s pushing for awards consideration.

Stunning actress Meg Ryan is to star in new boxing flick Against The Ropes. Ryan was thought to have been putting her career on hold since her parting of ways with actor husband Dennis Quaid. According to friends she is still disturbed following her brief romance Russell Crowe. But Ryan now wants to return to movie making in Paramount's drama about boxing manager Jackie Kallen. Both Sandra Bullock and Michelle Pfeiffer were interested in the role but writer Cheryl Edwards believes Ryan is perfect for the biopic. The film is expected to go into production in late autumn.
