‘Werwulf’ Finds Its Stars As Robert Egger’s Latest Production Gets Exciting Updates
Image
Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Lily-Rose Depp are reportedly set to team up again with director Robert Eggers for his next movie, according to Nexus Point News. The new film is called Werwulf and will be a dark werewolf horror story set in 13th-century England. It will reportedly feature Old English dialogue to match the period setting. Focus Features will release the movie.

Sources say Aaron Taylor-Johnson will play the werewolf himself, while Lily-Rose Depp is expected to play his wife. The story is said to include witchcraft elements and will apparently be one of Eggers’ bloodiest films so far.

Filming is planned to start this September. Eggers has written the script with Sjón, who worked with him on The Northman. Both Eggers and Sjón will be producing the film as well.

Werwulf was first revealed in January 2025, not long after Eggers released his vampire movie Nosferatu. That film also starred Taylor-Johnson and Depp,...

Until Dawn Worldwide Box Office: After A Decent Ride, Struggles To Hit The $50M Milestone – Can It Survive Final Destination’s Arrival?
Image
Until Dawn Nears $50M Box Office Milestone ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Until Dawn is racing against the clock to cross the $50 million mark globally with only a few days left before Final Destination: Bloodlines crashes into theaters. Despite lukewarm reviews, it has held its own, pulling in $18 million from domestic screens and adding another $26 million overseas. That puts the total at a respectable $44 million (Via Box Office Mojo), which is not bad for a horror flick on a $15 million budget.

Until Dawn Has Surpassed A Robert Egger’s Masterpiece

Until Dawn has done better than a few recent genre outings, even though it hasn’t caught fire like horror movies used to, it even edged past Robert Eggers’ breakout film The Witch, which remains a critical darling.

However, the horror landscape has been shifting, and audiences have shown more interest in high-concept and artsier scares lately. Films like The Monkey are making waves this year,...

Before they can do anything, unexpected visitors arrive, putting them both in greater danger. ‘Minecraft’ Crows $80M Second Weekend; ‘King Of Kings’ Hits The Hallelujah With $19M+ Opening Record For Animated Biblical Pic – Sunday Update
Image
Sunday Am Writethru: Refresh for updates… It’s the 15th weekend of the box office year, and only the fourth to exceed $100M+ for all titles. The industry needs to cherish this.

True, Warner Bros/Legendary’s A Minecraft Movie is delivering 52% of the $153M frame, still an $80.6M second weekend, but we can’t imagine that any exhibitor is complaining about the diversity or the amount of product in the marketplace. With an $80M second weekend, that’s the 16th best second weekend ever for a movie, and the second best second weekend for a videogame movie after Super Mario Bros’ ($92.3M). Some rivals believe the domestic endgame for Minecraft Movie is close to a half billion; Super Mario Bros got to $574.9M. Global running cume is $550.6M.

A funny note about cinemas getting trashed: None of the three top circuits would issue statements that such chaos was going on.

'Nosferatu' Becomes Robert Eggers' Highest Grossing Film in North America
Image
Releasing a horror movie in the middle of the holiday season might have been a risky move, but it’s one that ultimately paid off. Nosferatu made its debut on the 2nd of December in Berlin and came out internationally on Christmas Day. With a huge 84% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie has surpassed all expectations and has since become Robert Egger’s highest-grossing film in North America.

Forget Nosferatu, This Underrated (and Lost) Vampire Movie is Overdue For a Remake
Image
Quick LinksLondon After Midnight is an Iconic But Unremarkable Vampire FilmModern Cinema is Perfect to Reignite the Forgotten Vampire Mystery FilmLondon After Midnight's Legacy Can't Be Ignored

When Robert Egger's Nosferatu hit theaters, it did more than bring a classic horror monster back into the mainstream. It also brought back a love of gothic horror that hadn't been seen since the '90s, as well as a love for all things classic and vampire. Aside from that, Universal's Epic Universe has done something similar with its Universal Monsters-centric Dark Universe. With all that in mind, it's clear that the world is in a state where gothic and vampiric horror have reached a new high and there are even more chances to capitalize on the idea.

It's no secret that the original 1922 Nosferatu was an unauthorized remake of Dracula that was nearly lost to time after every copy was almost destroyed.

Nicholas Hoult to Star in David Leitch’s Bank Heist Thriller for Amazon MGM
Image
Nicholas Hoult has signed on to star in the untitled bank heist thriller that David Leitch is directing for Amazon MGM Studios and Imagine Entertainment.

Leitch will also produce with wife and producing partner Kelly McCormick via their 87North banner, alongside Imagine’s Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody and Allan Mandelbaum.

Amazon, Imagine and 87North are keeping plot details locked in a vault, but the script is written by Mark Bianculli, who was a writer and consulting producer on Amazon’s Nazi hunting show Hunters.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the story centers on a group of savvy bank robbers who use social media to document their heists, playing a cat-and-mouse game with police. Bianculli and Imagine have spent the better part of a decade developing the project, according to sources. It is unclear who Hoult would play.

A summer shoot is being planned, and Amazon is planning to release the feature in theaters.

'Locked' Review: It's Hell on Wheels for Bill Skarsgård
Image
Given how blatantly transparent it has become in recent months that the rich dictate, often without thought or mercy, the fate of the poor, Locked would seem to be in a perfect position to rile up the 99% and grab some free op-ed space. Unfortunately, it's not quite ambitious enough nor insightful enough for that. The film, about a petty thug who breaks into a luxury SUV only to find it’s been booby-trapped by an unseen and obscenely wealthy tormentor, is a B-movie more interested in torturing its main character than inspiring the hoi polloi to march in the streets. But with a few decent tricks up its tailpipe, the latest from Brightburn director David Yarovesky sputters to a tattered and bloody checkered flag.

That main character is played by a terrific Bill Skarsgård, and he’s the only person on screen for most of the film. His character, a hard-up thief named Eddie,...

History Nerds Are Already Nitpicking Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey
Image
Over the weekend, a first-look photo for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming adaptation of epic poem The Odyssey revealed Matt Damon in Odysseus mode, complete with a helmet and cloak that’s right in line with our expectations for sword-and-sandal productions. Because it was released on the Internet, though, it was immediately criticized by both amateur and professional historians for a lack of historical accuracy.

The chief point of contention revolves around the helmet, because in The Iliad (the prequel to The Odyssey) original author Homer describes the “cleverly made” leather helmet Odysseus is given for a raid as follows: “On the inside there was a strong lining on interwoven straps, onto which a felt cap had been sewn in. The outside was cleverly adorned all around with rows of white tusks from a shiny-toothed boar, the tusks running in alternate directions in each row.”

It’s a model known as...

How Robert Eggers Created Two of Horror’s Best Leading Ladies
Image
Horror, historically, has been a genre that allows female characters to shine and take the spotlight. Final girls are one of the most used and well-recognized tropes of the genre, and in many slasher films, women are the last ones standing thanks to their most common sense and survival instinct. One of the latest female leads who took the horror genre by storm was Ellen Hutter in Robert Egger’s latest film Nosferatu.

Ellen and her connection to the vampire was the central focus of the film, putting a unique spin on a centuries-old story. That wasn’t the first time Eggers wrote and directed a well-crafted female lead, however. His debut film The Witch back in 2015 gave audiences Thomasin, a girl who started the film powerless and ended up becoming the very thing her family feared. Robert Eggers and actresses Anya Taylor Joy and Lily-Rose Depp created two of...

'Locked' Could be the Next Big Thriller with Anthony Hopkins and Bill Skarsgård
Image
Some pairings are a match made in heaven (or hell) and this one feels like one that should've happened long ago. Anthony Hopkins, the Academy Award-winning actor who still gives us chills as Hannibal Lecter, and Bill Skarsgård, an actor who is no stranger to weird and offbeat characters, are joining forces in a film produced by horror maestro Sam Raimi, and it has the potential to be a real treat for genre fans.

The trailer for a new film called Locked just dropped (via EW), and it looks like one hell of a ride courtesy of director David Yarvovesky (Brightburn). The film follows a thief named Eddie (Skarsgård) who is down on his luck when he decides to break into an SUV that is parked in an empty lot. The tables are turned on Eddie when the SUV's owner, William (Hopkins), traps Eddie inside and reveals himself to be...

Nosferatu's Success Means It's The Perfect Time To Resurrect A Classic British Horror Franchise
Image
The surprise success of Nosferatu means the timing couldn't be better for Hammer Horror to stage a glorious resurrection. Gothic horror movies like the classic Universal Monsters or the output of Britain's Hammer Films used to dominate the genre, once upon a time. Hammer franchises like the Christopher Lee Dracula movies or their Frankenstein series leaned into their Gothic origins, but the arrival of more modern, psychological chillers like Rosemary's Baby left the genre very dated in later years.

Modern horror tends to be defined by the likes of A24, but the occasional Gothic horror effort like Crimson Peak or even The Fall of the House of Usher occasionally breaks through. That's what makes the success of Robert Egger's Nosferatu remake so exciting. On the surface, the movie's retro feel and Gothic tone would have been considered offputting to modern viewers; instead, Nosferatu has grossed over $100 million worldwide (via...

Colman Domingo Joins The Running Man Reboot in Key Role
Image
Edgar Wright's The Running Man remake has found its Richard Dawson replacement. Colman Domingo has signed on to star as the host of the titular game show.

According to Deadline, Wright and execs on The Running Man were "aiming high" with who they wanted to see cast as the game show host, given that Dawson's portrayal in the 1987 film adaptation was so well-received, with Domingo ultimately landing the part. Domingo, who is currently receiving some award attention for his leading performance in A24's Sing Sing, joins a cast that includes Glen Powell, Karl Glusman, Katy O’Brian, and Daniel Ezra, among others.

Nosferatu's Success May Have Secretly Helped Fix a 45-Year-Old Stephen King Problem
Image
This article contains spoilers for Nosferatu, now playing in theaters.

Robert Egger's 2024 horror film, Nosferatu, was nothing short of a Christmas miracle. As is typical of the director, Nosferatu is visceral and captivating, reminiscent of his feature film debut, The Witch. With such great attention to detail to the era and a wildly talented cast bringing its characters to life, even the most jaded viewer cannot deny how effective the film is.

Bringing horror back to the vampire genre, Nosferatu isn't just a win for Eggers. Vampires have been a popular subject matter as long as cinema has been around, but recent years have given the monsters a glamorous makeover. Egger's take on Count Orlok may have the juice to revitalize the blood and mayhem these creatures were originally known for. No one knows this more than Stephen King, whose follow-up to Carrie was Salem's Lot, a terrifying...

Robert Pattinson's Role In Christopher Nolan's Next Movie Just Got Even More Exciting
Image
Robert Pattinson's schedule has been rather busy in recent years, and it won't be slowing down anytime soon as he has joined the cast of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey and is set to appear in another highly-anticipated movie. While both projects are exciting, Pattinson's role in The Odyssey became much more interesting after an upsetting update concerning his other film. Unfortunately, not much is known about the actor's involvement in Nolan's next story. But by taking all the factors into account, it will be difficult for The Odyssey to disappoint, especially concerning Pattinson's part in it.

Per Universal Pictures (via X), Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is "a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology. The film brings Homer's foundational saga to IMAX film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026."

Nosferatu's Ending Reveals Count Orlok's Most Important Difference To Dracula
Image
Warning: The following contains spoilers for 2024's Nosferatu.Director Robert Eggers' Nosferatu is based on the original film of the same name from 1922, an unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula. Starring Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok and Lily-Rose Depp as Ellen Hutter, Nosferatu is proving to be an intriguing addition to the vampire genre. However, as a result of its complicated origins, all iterations of Count Orlok are inherently based on Count Dracula.

There are still some key differences between Orlok and Dracula, as well as Nosferatu and Stoker's famous novel. For instance, in the novel, Dracula is killed by being stabbed in the heart and decapitated by Jonathan Harker and Quincy Morris, something Francis Ford Coppola deviated from in his film adaptation of Stoker's Dracula. The original Nosferatu strays away from this even further by depicting sunlight playing a key role in Count Orlok's eventual demise.

Babygirl's Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score Results In A Shocking 2024 Movie Record For Nicole Kidman
Image
Babygirl has received a divisive Rotten Tomatoes audience score, setting a shocking record for Nicole Kidman. The erotic thriller, directed and written by Halina Reijn (Bodies Bodies Bodies), delves into the life of Romy, a powerful tech CEO in New York who embarks on a dangerous and impassioned affair with her younger intern, Samuel (Harris Dickinson). The Babygirl cast also features Antonio Banderas and Sophie Wilde, who join Kidman in a story exploring Romy's sexual repression and journey to self-acceptance.

Babygirl has a 55% Rotten Tomatoes audience score, making it part of an unexpected trend of audience misfires for Kidman this year. Despite Kidman's compelling performance, which helped the erotic film achieve a 77% Rotten Tomatoes score among critics, the audience response to her recent films, including Netflix's Spellbound and the rom-com A Family Affair, reveals a surprising disconnect for an actor known for her command of acclaimed and award-winning roles.

Box Office: ‘Mufasa’ Rebounds, Wins Christmas Day Ahead of ‘Sonic 3’ and ‘Nosferatu’
Image
Many were quick to write off Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King when it lost badly to Paramount’s Sonic the Hedgehog 3 last weekend, but the landscape changed on Wednesday as families became more available after holiday duties.

Mufasa topped the Christmas day chart with $15 million, followed by filmmaker Robert Egger’s new star-studded vampire pic Nosferatu with a promising $11.6 million and Sonic 3 with $10.7 million.

A horror-fantasy, Nosferatu is looking to come in third with as much as $40 million for the five days behind Mufasa and Sonic, well ahead of expectations (anything above $20 million would be a victory). Modeling is difficult this early in the game, and projections for all films could shift. Eggers’ movie stars Lily-Rose Depp, Nicholas Hoult and Bill Skarsgård.

Mufasa is anticipating a five-day gross north of $50 million, while Sonic 3 is likewise targeting $50 million (at this stage, most rivals have Mufasa in the lead). Through Wednesday,...

Lily-Rose Depp Reveals How Her Controversial HBO Series Prepared Her for Nosferatu Role
Image
Lily-Rose Depp, star of Robert Egger's adaptation of Nosferatu, talks about how her experiences on The Idol prepared her for the horror film.

Lily-Rose Depp was given homework before playing Ellen Hutter in Nosferatu, a horror film following Depp's character as she is haunted by the disturbing vampiric monster Count Orlok (played by Bill Skårsgard), who attempts to steal her away and take her as his bride. Depp was asked by director Robert Eggers to read the short story “Péhor” by French author Remy de Gourmont in preparation for her role, she told IndieWire. “Rob is incredibly well-researched, famously, and so he sent me a lot of references, a lot of movies that had inspired him for the role. He also gave me this text to read, which is called ‘Péhor’ [by Remy de Gourmont], and it’s kind of like a story about a young religious girl who has a sexual awakening love story with a demon,...

Robert Eggers' Nosferatu Remake Surpasses the 100-Year-OId Classic
Image
Only minor scene spoilers will be included in this review for Robert Egger's 2024 film, Nosferatu. Proceed with caution.

If writer-director Robert Eggers' track record tells us anything, it's that his latest film, Nosferatu, will, at the very least, offer something interesting. In this day and age, "interesting" is more than enough to stand out, but in this particularly dry and dreary year for horror movies, it's a boon to audiences that we can finally watch something horrible that is also substantial in its creative choices. Nosferatu transports audiences to a world where anything can happen, but Eggers' game is that he cares far more about tone and mood than delivering momentarily exciting but ultimately forgettable gimmicks that have marred vampire stories for the past 100 years. The result is an ambitious remake that should be seen big and loud, and one that is sure to leave an impression on audiences.

With Nosferatu, Robert Eggers Has Now Made 2 Stealth Adaptations Of Literary Classics In A Row
Image
Director Robert Eggers has four feature films under his belt so far: The Witch, The Lighthouse, The Northman, and 2024's Nosferatu. While he has not been in the public eye as long as some other established directors, like Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, or Steven Spielberg, audiences are already getting a clear picture of the sorts of films that attract Eggers.

All four of Robert Eggers' feature films are period pieces. They also all have a folklore-like quality to them, or they feel as if they could be a legend passed down from generation to generation. This is especially true for The Northman and the unanimously praised Nosferatu, as both of these films are based on literary classics -- Hamlet and Dracula, respectively. However, neither are direct adaptations for a few reasons.

Why Nosferatu Was Banned & Almost Disappeared Completely
Image
One of the most influential horror movies, 1922's Nosferatu, has an upcoming remake from Robert Eggers, director of The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman. It is one of the most anticipated horror films of the year; however, the original movie did not receive the same sort of warm reception.

The original Nosferatu almost never existed due to a copyright issue. The film was an illegal adaptation of Dracula, which was not public domain at the time in Germany. However, the film was still made, despite the Bram Stoker Estate's objections. This then led to the estate filing a suit against the film and the almost permanent destruction of the classic horror movie.

Blumhouse Wolf Man Reboot Is a 'Pretty Hardcore'; Will Make Universal Monster Scary Again.
Image
Horror fans, we have some pretty good news! It appears the upcoming reboot of the Universal Pictures lycanthropy IP, simply titled Wolf Man, is going for the jugular of standard horror. According to producer Jason Blum, the film is a pure horror movie that doesn't exactly stay in safe territory in terms of gore. Director Leigh Whannell confidently agrees with this as he takes a break from editing and speaks about his future release.

Produced by Jason Blum through his studio, Blumhouse Productions, Wolf Man has been in production since the early 2020s, when Universal noticed the potential of bringing back their catalog of Universal Classic Monsters, albeit with a refreshing take. Director Leigh Whannell had been attached to the project, but then, when Ryan Gosling entered the picture and brought along a pitch to be directed by Derek Cianfrance, there was a change of plans. Nevertheless, they exited the project,...

A24's The Front Room Ends Studio's Fresh Rotten Tomatoes Streak
Image
A24's upcoming horror film The Front Room looks to end the critically acclaimed studio record. Directed by Max and Sam Eggers, the brothers of acclaimed filmmaker Sam Eggers, The Front Room stars Brandy as Belinda, a pregnant woman who discovers that her stepmother-in-law Solange (Kathryn Hunter) is working her way to manipulate her stepson and take the baby from the young family for her own sinister means. A24 has earned a reputation for redefining the horror genre in the 21st century with films like Talk to Me, Heriditerary, and even Robert Egger's The Witch, so there was a certain level of expectation for The Front Room to deliver another critically acclaimed horror film.

That does not seem to be the case as Max and Sam Eggers's debut feature film will not match their older brother Robert Eggers. The initial Rotten Tomatoes score for The Front Room was revealed at 46%, with thirteen reviews.

Why Nosferatu Is the Most Famous Illegal Film Ever Made
Image
Nosferatu is a German expressionist horror film released in 1922, directed by F.W. Murnau. Despite attempts to differentiate Nosferatu from Dracula, the film faced legal challenges from Stoker's estate. There are two official Nosferatu movies, with a third directed by Robert Eggers, set to release in 2024.

The first trailer for Robert Eggers's Nosferatu is finally out, reminding fans of the controversy surrounding the original movie. Nearly a full century after its release, the 1922 silent version of Nosferatu remains one of the most iconic films of the German Expressionism era and one of the most influential in the horror genre. The movie's vampiric villain, Count Orlok, has been referenced even in modern cartoons like SpongeBob SquarePants, and popularized the standard look of the secular, reclusive vampire.

Without Nosferatu, the horror landscape of the last century would have looked completely different. However, the movie technically shouldn't exist. The similarities between Nosferatu and Bram Stoker's Dracula,...

Poorly-Reviewed Dracula Movie Finds Second Life On Netflix's Global Chart 10 Years Later
Image
Dracula Untold rises from critical panning, landing on Netflix's global charts with 10.3 million views. The horror action movie was ranked third, just behind Trigger Warning and Ultraman: Rising. The Dark Universe did not proceed, leaving other storytellers to bring Dracula to the screen.

Dracula Untold rises from the shadows of critical panning, as Luke Evans' Universal Monster lands on Netflix's global charts. The 2014 movie went back long before the count would haunt the Harkers and Van Hellsing, as Evans' prince of Wallachia and Transylvania makes a deal with an ancient vampire to grant him the powers to face his Ottoman enemies, but at the cost of his humanity. While it managed to perform well enough at the box office, critics were left unimpressed by Evan's dark origin.

While critics once branded Dracula Untold as an underwhelming retelling of a classic villain's origins, Netflix's global movie charts revealed it climbed...

Three studios bidding for Ryan Coogler’s period vampire movie
Ryan Coogler
Director Ryan Coogler’s next project – said to be a period vampire film – is set to star Michael B Jordan and has sparked something of a bidding war. More details here:

Little is known about Ryan Coogler’s next project, but negotiations with studios in the past week mean that a couple of juicy details have emerged regarding the secretive film that Coogler and Michael B Jordan are looking to get underway this year.

We learned last week that the project would be a genre movie – and it’s now being described as a period vampire film, which Coogler and Jordan are looking to shoot this summer. Naturally, the project has garnered lots of interest, but it sounds like Netflix isn’t being invited to the party as Coogler is insistent that the film gets a ‘full worldwide theatrical release’.

Warner Bros, Sony and Universal are said to be the...

Robert Pattinson Reveals 'Deep, Deep Fear of Humiliation' With His Acting
Image
In an interview with comedian Jordan Firstman, Robert Pattinson admitted a "deep, deep fear of humiliation" that plays a part in his feelings regarding acting roles and Hollywood in general.

While conversing with Firstman, Pattinson said, "I’m constantly thinking that you’re just going to spend the vast majority of your life unemployed and desperate and kind of feeling like you’re a total failure." He went on to say, "That’s the most stressful thing in the world." Pattinson began acting because his father thought it would help with his shyness. After a stint of theater roles, Pattinson got roles in film and television, most notably, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Mary Woodvine in Enys Men (2022)
From Enys Men to The Witch: What’s behind cinema’s folk horror boom?
Mary Woodvine in Enys Men (2022)
In Enys Men – the much-anticipated new film written and directed by Cornish filmmaker Mark Jenkin, whose last feature, Bait (2019), earned him a Bafta for Outstanding Debut – a woman in walking boots, jeans, and a translucent red anorak trudges across gorsy moorland towards a cliff face. She clambers down, perches on a rocky outcrop, and stares intently at a few white flowers as they sway in the wind, high above clamorous waves below.

Every day she studies these flowers. Then, every day she drops a rock into an abandoned tin mine’s inky depths, and stands listening for a distant thud. She returns to an isolated, ivy-covered cottage. A standing stone sticks out of the landscape like an ancient dagger-head. The woman pulls the cord of a power generator, makes a pot of tea, listens to the scratchy, indistinct noises of a radio communication device, and, in a logbook, records the...

A Romantic Camping Trip Descends Into a Psychological Nightmare in Jamie Wanstall’s Short ‘Still Waters Run Deep’
Image
In Jamie Wanstall’s stylistic short Still Waters Run Deep what starts out as a romantic camping getaway in the woods quickly descends into a psychological tale of madness and folk horror. It tracks Darren and Sorcha, a pair of long-term lovers, on a trip, hoping to spend some time away in nature. But, unfortunately for them, their isolated woodland location has other ideas. Wanstall’s precise visual direction gives the film a distinctive flair akin to Robert Egger’s menacing feature The Witch. His camera moves and pans slowly, allowing the tension to bubble away before being released in all manner of strange and surreal occurrences. Dn spoke with Wanstall as the Still Waters Run Deep arrives online to discuss his genre influences, the film’s clever and concise cinematography, and the catharsis of channelling his own fears and anxieties into his filmmaking.

Where did the idea of a...

The Edge of Stardom: Hailee Steinfeld and the New Hollywood Kids on the Block
Author: Matt Rodgers

It feels strange to herald Hailee Steinfeld as a fresh cinematic supernova, considering her Oscar nominated turn as True Grit’s Mattie Ross was as far back as 2010. Since then she has carved out a wonderful niche as a supporting actress, often stealing the films from under the nose of the likes of Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect 2), whilst also sustaining what the kids tell me is a pretty good pop career.

Last year she stepped up to leading lady status with The Edge of Seventeen. It’s the kind of film that should have found a bigger audience, threatening a re-think of most people’s top ten of the year lists. One of those coming-of-age parables that truly reflects what it was/is like to be young, and as the sardonic Nadine, Steinfeld runs the full gamut of emotions; comedic to sympathetic, and always utterly watchable.

What If Wes Anderson Directed The Witch?
Wholly unique and totally unnerving, The Witch is one of the best horror movies of 2016 (maybe eve one of the year's best films), and a great showcase for what fledgling director Robert Egger’s career has in store for us. But what if another director tackled this tale of isolation and religious faith, say a certain Arch Duke of Whimsy? Yes, it’s another Wes Anderson parody video, but the guys over at Cinefix have really hit it out of the park with this one, employing many of Anderson’s well known traits, from lively music to pastel hues, to transform The Witch into a pretty convincing comedy about a dysfunctional family trying to start a new life for themselves. Check it out for yourself below.
