Parker Young and The Image of You Director Discuss Their Erotic Thriller
Image
Ah, the infamous love triangle. Those can never end well especially if two of the three are twin siblings and one of them is sexually ravenous (and then some). It's no wonder these notions are explored in erotic fiction, which in turn become reliable sellers. Certain steamy novels like Fifty Shades of Grey have then been adapted to the big screen. And more recently, The Image of You started as a best-selling novel by Adele Parks MBE and is now a feature film, directed by Jeff Fisher and starring Sasha Pieterse as twin sisters Anna and Zoe.

A sort of dual protagonist is Nick (Parker Young), who Anna meets on a dating app; so begins a twisted love affair with surprises we won't spoil here. We recently caught up with director Fisher and co-star Young in separate interviews to learn more about those hot and steamy sex scenes and the...

‘Bite Me’ Review
Image
Stars: Naomi McDougall Jones, Christian Coulson, Naomi Grossman, Annie Golden | Written by Naomi McDougall Jones | Directed by Naomi McDougall Jones, Meredith Edwards

After seeing the poster and reading up a little on Bite Me I was expecting a romantic comedy in the vein of Life After Beth or Warm Bodies – obviously replacing the zombies with vampires. But that’s not what Bite Me tries to be.

It’s a much more serious movie than I expected it to be. There is some comedy but things are kept straight for the most part and the romance between a vampire and a human is the main focus of the movie. It’s still not quite the movie that it mentions occasionally (Twilight) but it’s perhaps closer to this type of film.

Real-life vampire Sarah is due an audit, which turns out not so good for her and her vampire pals. At...

The Blue Lamp
Image
It’s the granddaddy of British cop dramas of the modern era. The most popular English picture of 1950 introduced PC George Dixon, a warm-hearted constable who would become a staple on BBC TV for 21 years. T.E.B. Clarke’s screenplay of a murder manhunt is stocked with actors American fans know well — Dirk Bogarde, Bernard Lee — and some we should know better — Jack Warner, Robert Flemyng, Dora Bryan. The show was made by the top craftsmen of Ealing Studios, and its fast pace and Brit sensibility will definitely impress. And remember — the Bobbies on the beat don’t even carry guns.

‘Dunkirk (1958)’ DVD Review
Stars: John Mills, Richard Attenborough, Bernard Lee, Robert Urquhart, Ray Jackson, Ronald Hines, Sean Barrett, Roland Curram, Meredith Edwards, Michael Bates, Maxine Audley, Lionel Jeffries | Written by David Divine, W.P. Lipscomb | Directed by Leslie Norman

While this year’s Dunkirk brought an intensity to the screen conveying the horrors of what was experienced by the soldiers at Dunkirk, there was a version of that same story that was released back in 1958. Now digitally restored and available on DVD and Blu-ray, this Dunkirk is an interesting look at how the true events affected many people.

When Nazi Germany invaded France, the British army found themselves in retreat. Making their way to Dunkirk which was the only means of escape, Operation Dynamo was put into action to get the soldiers out of France and home.

What is interesting about this version of Dunkirk is the fact it is a darker look at...
