With a vast range of Disney movies, it can be hard to know which one to go with, especially when looking for a film that is suitable for a young audience. While the studio is known to create movies for the whole family, some wouldn't appeal to children, nor would they be appropriate. However, there's a whole host of films that meet the G certificate rating.
There is a Disney film for every movie fan's taste. Some involve talking animated animals, and others depict a teenager's journey to becoming a princess. Whether with songs or without, the below selection of G-rated movies provides a varied choice for younger viewers.

While there are a lot of Disney characters who easily stand out on their own, there are some iconic Disney duos that show how much fun a pair can be. Disney has always loved exploring friendship in their animated movies and they have done so successfully since the beginning of their run. However, even in their long history, some Disney duos rise above the rest and showcase those truly special pairings that have delivered laughs, heartbreak, and charm to audiences over the years.
Including all the Pixar movies alongside the animated Disney roster, there are a lot of notable pairs to choose from. There are some friends who clearly go back a long way, like Mike and Sully in Monsters Inc. Some start out with a lot of tension only to find common ground, like Moana and Maui. Of course, some Disney duos are just fun to watch sharing the screen,...

Disney villains can be a divisive topic of conversation. Obviously, the heroes are there for viewers to get on side with and support in whatever journey they're undertaking. However, particularly in more recent times, fans have become more inclined to see things from a villain's point of view, as well as enjoy what they're like.
A lot of villains behave unforgivably, but it's not what they do that can make them hard to hate; it's their personalities. Some are funny, while others deliver energy that livens up the movie and encourages fans to look forward to seeing them on the screen. They're crucial to any good animation, so much so that fans can't always despise them.

Disney is often celebrated around the world for its wide catalog of films, making it one of the most iconic production companies ever formed. From traditional fairy tales to moving modern adventures, these films have stayed with fans for a lifetime. Now, with the advent of streaming platforms like Disney +, fans can continue sharing their favorite animated movies with the next generation.
But before streaming, Disney often had to fight for prime real estate at the box office, meaning that some projects got pushed aside. Thus, a lot of sequels and spin-offs were released direct-to-video. Although these films are wrongly accused of being flops, Disney proves that sometimes, these movies are much better than the original.

Disney's "Encanto" is a magical family film about the heavy weight of generational trauma set to an incredible soundtrack by the ever-present Lin-Manuel Miranda. Starring Stephanie Beatriz as Mirabel Madrigal, a young girl and the only modern member of her family who was denied a special ability by the magic house the Madrigals all live in, "Encanto" sees the character set out to unpack the emotional baggage that comes with forced family traditions. In doing so, she undoes the circumstances which caused her uncle, Bruno Madrigal (John Leguizamo), to become an outcast.
Except, Mirabel realizes that her missing uncle never really left ... he stayed close by so that he could feel connected to his high-strung family. Now, when we say "close by," what we really mean is "Bruno lived in the literal walls of his family home for 10 years with only rats for company." To pass the time, poor Bruno...

As if you didn't know, casting for Disney's upcoming live-action remake of their classic 1989 animated movie The Little Mermaid is underway with recent addition Halle Bailey as Ariel. Awkwafina as Scuttle, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, and Jacob Tremblay as Flounder have all been discussed but aren't currently confirmed. Today we have word that Terry Crews and Guy Fieri want to throw their hats into the underwater ring as well for the roles of King Triton and Ursula the Sea Witch.
You can go ahead and check out both Terry Crews' and Guy Fieri's Twitter posts below if you don't believe me!
While sadly Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives host Guy Fieri is joking about his casting as Ursula, I genuinely think The Ridiculous 6 and Sorry to Bother You star Terry Crews would make a killer King Triton. If, you know, The Dark Tower and Hobbs & Shaw actor Idris Elba isn't up for the part.

The Little Mermaid, the movie that launched Disney's animated renaissance, premiered 25 years ago this Nov. 15. That might seem hard to believe for those of us who caught it in theaters, but we've had a quarter-century of snarfblats and dinglehoppers since then. In honor of the film's silver anniversary, we're presenting a list of things that you might not know about The Little Mermaid, even if you were one of those kids who wore out your VHS copy. 1. It wasn't expected to be a hit It's been alleged that Jeffrey Katzenberg, Disney's CEO at the time, thought that The Little Mermaid...

We've always had a fascination with monsters. Some are pretty forgettable, while others have found a place in our hearts or struck deep into our psyches. But we've come a long way from the nuclear age of giant ants terrorizing middle America and atomic lizards the size of skyscrapers engaging in battles with gargantuan apes. The modern monster has evolved from the golden age of Bela Lugosi's blood-sucking antics in the depths of Transylvania, or the stop-motion excellence of Ray Harryhausen – designs still vehemently admired to this day thanks to publications like Famous Monsters of Filmland. There's always been a kind of aesthetic beauty to be found in monsters, and the advances in makeup effects are constantly lifting the limits on the imagination; the possibilities of future monsterdom are becoming endless. Some of our filmmaking heroes are so adept at realizing visually dazzling creatures that it's become their professional calling card (Guillermo Del Toro,...
