Genndy Tartakovsky Talks Journey To Getting R-Rated Netflix Animated Movie ‘Fixed’ Over The Line: “I Was Going To A Dark Place”
Image
Genndy Tartakovsky’s R-rated animated comedy Fixed – about a dog on a mission to get his rocks off, before they are chopped off by the vet – hits Netflix this week after buzzy screenings at Annecy and Montreal’s Fantasia Festival over the summer.

Its arrival on the platform marks the end of a 16-year journey to get the movie over the line and connected to audiences for Tartakovsky, who is best known as the director of the first three movies in the Hotel Transylvania franchise as well as Adult Swim series such as Samurai Jack and Primal aimed at older audiences.

Fixed follows the adventures of canine protagonist Bull, voiced by Pitch Perfect star Adam Divine, who discovers he’s going to be neutered in the morning when his owners reach the end of their tether over his constant humping of grandma’s leg.

Hearing the news, his pack of...

Is Adam Devine’s Fixed for Kids? Parents Guide for Netflix’s New Animated Film
Image
Adam Devine’s upcoming movie, Fixed, is definitely not for kids. The animated movie is strictly rated R by the MPAA for strong s**ual jokes, drug use, and violence, which means it’s for adults only. Anyone under 17 should watch it with adult supervision. This movie is directed by Genndy Tartakovsky (you might know him for his work in Dexter’s Laboratory and Samurai Jack).

Other such movies, such as Big Mouth, F Is for Family, and Paradise Pd, to name a few, are also in the same section as Fixed. These flicks are often bright and colorful, something that kids are extremely fond of. But these are surely not what you’d like to catch your kids watching.

So, here’s a parent’s guide for Netflix’s Fixed.

Netflix Viewers Are Obsessed With This ‘Office-Style’ Comedy That’s Being Called A Hidden Gem
Image
Historical Mockumentary Has Viewers Hooked On Netflix ( Photo Credit – Netflix )

Netflix might have slipped something into its lineup that is catching viewers off guard and in the best way. A short, sharp comedy series is gathering serious attention, not with explosions or capes, but with powdered wigs, petty rivalries and a heavy dose of dry humor.

What Is 1670 About on Netflix

The show is called 1670, and it has been quietly winning people over since it dropped in late 2023. It has got eight episodes and a style that feels like it walked straight out of The Office, then took a hard left turn into 17th-century Poland. Instead of modern-day office politics, it dives into the ridiculous world of nobility, small-village leadership and exaggerated historical ambition.

Why James Gunn’s ‘Superman’ Box Office Number Still Fails to Challenge the MCU’s Dominance?
Image
Despite high ratings, James Gunn‘s Superman failed to reach great numbers both domestically and internationally. With MCU being in a not-so-great shape, Gunn’s Dcu is still unable to battle it out with the mighty MCU when it comes to earning at the box office.

With The Fantastic Four: First Steps releasing on July 25 and Superman releasing on July 11, I thought that the Dcu might be able to beat the MCU this time, considering the consistently bad projects that Marvel had been making and how terrible the Og The Fantastic Four movies were.

Well, turns out that even after being at a disadvantage of a later release date and a legacy that they shouldn’t be proud of, The Fantastic Four: First Steps managed to almost catch up to the Dcu movie. The constant winning doesn’t just stop with Superman; the MCU has been dominating box office collections for a long time.

Image
HollyShorts Film Festival is betting big on international expansion, with plans to launch in Dubai this December as the Oscar-qualifying short film showcase looks to establish footholds beyond its Hollywood home base.

Prime Video’s ‘War of the Worlds’ Dominates Streaming Charts

‘Fixed’ Review: Genndy Tartakovsky’s Canine Comedy Aims for Low-Hanging Fruit
Image
Genndy Tartakovsky has spent much of his career considering what’s appropriate for children, whether at Cartoon Network or at the helm of three Hotel Transylvania films. Now, with the R-rated Fixed, he’s off the leash, and using traditional animation rather than CGI. But even if Tartakovsky achieved a sense of catharsis from being able to animate a dog’s bouncing nutsack, it doesn’t translate to a fulfilling viewing experience.

That nutsack belongs to Bull (Adam DeVine), but not for long. His human owners have had enough of him humping everything from Grandma’s leg to the backyard garden hose, and now he’s set to be neutered. Bull, though, isn’t about to take this lying down—especially when it might ruin his chances with the show dog next door (Kathryn Hahn). So he breaks out of his backyard and sets out for a raucous night in the city,...

Chris Hemsworth Gives an 'Extraction 3' Update That Action Fans Will Love
Image
Netflix's biggest action movie franchise is set to make a big comeback, according to its leading star, Chris Hemsworth. Action movies are great, but action movies made by stunt performers are on a whole other level. That's what Netflix brought to the proverbial table in 2020 with Extraction. Starring Hemsworth as mercenary Tyler Rake, the film was ball-to-the-wall action, including a gigantic one-take sequence, and plenty of John Wick-inspired action. A sequel, aptly titled Extraction 2, was released in 2023 and brought more of the same kick-ass action, and fans have been desperate for Hemsworth to return for a third installment (presumably titled Extraction 3) in the franchise. Thankfully, we might not be waiting too long.

During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter to promote the new season of his docuseries, Limitless: Live Better Now, Chris Hemsworth addressed the future of the Extraction franchise and where Tyler Rake could go next.

‘Fixed’ Review: Genndy Tartakovsky’s Netflix Animated Feature Is a Hilariously Dirty Delight
Image
Not since Ralph Bakshi’s Fritz the Cat and its sequel have cartoon animals gotten so down and dirty as they do in the latest animated effort by director Genndy Tartakovsky. Depicting the travails of a dog facing the fate alluded to in the title, Fixed plays like a canine version of The 25th Hour, except that instead of going to prison the next day, the main character is about to be neutered.

Those who are easily offended may want to steer clear of this Netflix movie, co-scripted by Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack, Hotel Transylvania) with Jon Vitti (The Simpsons). But if, let’s say, South Park is a regular part of your animated diet, you’ll find plenty of amusement in this relentlessly raunchy and vulgar comedy.

A perfectly cast Adam DeVine plays the central role of Bull, who is clearly experiencing the male dog version of heat. He’s relentlessly horny,...

John Cena & Idris Elba’s Heads Of State Knocked Off Prime Video’s #1 Spot By This 0%-Rated Sci-Fi Thriller
Image
Heads Of State Looses No1 Prime Video’s Spot ( Photo Credit – Prime Video )

John Cena charged onto Prime Video’s global charts with Heads of State, and for nearly a month, nothing came close. The wrestler-turned-actor, alongside Idris Elba and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, kept the action-comedy glued to the top spot, while drawing millions into its fast-paced political misadventure. However, that hold did not last forever because over the weekend, the unexpected happened. A screenlife version of War of the Worlds pushed Cena and company off the throne, per Flixpatrol.

Ice Cube’s War Of The Worlds Overtakes The Charts

The new take on the classic story stars Ice Cube as a Homeland Security surveillance pro, operating entirely through screens and devices. While audiences tuned in, critics did not hold back. The film has hit rock bottom on Rotten Tomatoes, sitting at zero percent, a rare spot few ever reach.

Prime Video's Heads of State Replacement Starring Pete Davidson and Eddie Murphy Bombs on Rotten Tomatoes
Image
Eddie Murphy is one of the most popular comedians of all time, and his films have always been a hit with the audience. Pair him up with SNL star and stand-up comedian Pete Davidson, and everyone would think the team-up would lead to a major hit.

The result in Prime Video's The Pickup couldn't be further from the truth. The new heist comedy, which is slated for release on Aug. 6, serves as the perfect replacement for the streamer's recent hit, Idris Elba and John Cena's Heads of State. However, The Pickup failed to impress the critics and debuted with an unfortunate 38% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Pickup's disappointing score comes from 16 reviews, and it's likely to improve or worsen as more reviews come in. However, Murphy and Davidson's new film is not off to a great start. Since the action comedy hasn't premiered, there is no audience score available.

John Cena's Blockbuster Loses #1 Spot to New 0% Rotten Tomatoes Sci-Fi Thriller on Streaming
Image
After weeks of domination, The Accountant 2 surrendered the top spot on Prime Video's global viewership rankings to Heads of State. The action-comedy, starring John Cena, Idris Elba, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, had a solid run, retaining the viewership crown for around a month. But this past weekend, the film was unseated from the number one spot by a rather unlikely competitor, a screenlife adaptation of War of the Worlds, starring Ice Cube in the lead role. What makes this situation all the more interesting is that War of the Worlds has been roundly rejected by critics, and is currently sitting at a rare 0% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes.

Directed by Rich Lee, the movie features Ice Cube as a surveillance expert who works for the Department of Homeland Security, alongside Eva Longoria, Clark Gregg, and others. War of the Worlds is based on the H.G. Wells novel of the same name,...

Fixed (Fantasia) Review: A throwback animated comedy full of heart, buttholes and adult humor
Image
Plot: From visionary director Genndy Tartakovsky comes “Fixed,” an adult animated comedy about Bull, an average, all-around good dog who discovers he’s going to be neutered in the morning! As the gravity of this life-altering event sets in, Bull realizes he needs one last adventure with his pack of best friends as these are the last 24 hours with his balls! What could go wrong…?

Review: If you have ever had an animated film recommended but brushed it off by saying that cartoons are for kids, you are missing out. From the pantheon of Japanese animated fare that rival live-action projects to classic American films like Heavy Metal, animation has been a medium with just as many projects aimed at adults as it has towards children. In recent years, movies like Sausage Party have amped up the raunch factor to reclaim animation for mature audiences. Still, Seth Rogen’s food-oriented...

Tom Holland’s James Bond Response Might Be Hinting ‘I Already Signed the Deal’
Image
Tom Holland‘s answer to speculations about his James Bond role might have hinted that the actor is nearly at the end of the finish line. While cooking with Gordon Ramsay on his YouTube channel, the actor was asked by Ramsay about the rumors of his casting as James Bond.

The actor coyly revealed that these were just speculations and that he will hold onto them for a minute because nothing seems confirmed. However, Tom Holland’s cheeky response suggests that the actor may have already signed the deal.

Listen, there’s speculation at the minute. We’ll keep it to a minimum for now. Every young British actor, it’s the pinnacle of working in our industry. I already consider myself to be the luckiest kid alive. I could never have dreamed to have the career that I’ve had.

Of course, it would be an incredible opportunity for...

The Taylor Swift Movie That IMDb Considers One Of The Worst Ever Made
Image
It's not news that "Cats" is a bad movie. Directed by Tom Hooper, the movie uses Andrew Lloyd Webber's inscrutable and mostly plotless Broadway musical as its source material, and to say it's jarring, bizarre, and outright terrible is an understatement. Also, Taylor Swift is in it.

Let me backtrack for a moment and say this: The Broadway musical "Cats" is not my personal cup of tea, but I'm not here to crap all over it. It's one of the highest-grossing musicals in history, and to be absolutely fair, the fact that the stage version is plotless isn't a technically bad thing. Making it into a movie, though, was a patently terrible idea, and I say that with no due respect to Hooper ... and unfortunately for Swift and her co-stars Dame Judi Dench, Sir Ian McKellen, Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson, and, uh, James Corden, it's a part of their creative histories now.

Set to be directed by Dune’s Denis Villeneuve, news only recently broke that Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight had been tapped to write the next entry in the long-running spy franchise.

However, before Knight’s recent appointment as the Bond 26 screenwriter, reports intimated that Amazon MGM studios were potentially looking to cast an actor under 30 years of age as the next 007, and had named Holland, Saltburn’s Jacob Elordi, and Babygirl’s Harris Dickinson at the top of their James Bond shortlist.

During an appearance on chef Gordon Ramsay’s YouTube channel, Holland sought to downplay rumors of his inclusion on the 007 casting shortlist. Suggesting that they should keep the speculation to a minimum, Holland hinted that the actual answer...
