Late 'Home and Away' star Belinda Emmett's brother to join show
Home and Away (1988)

The 37-year-old Australian chatshow host and comedian, who recently relocated to Los Angeles with second wife Tasma Walton, said that life stopped for him when Home and Away actress Emmett lost her battle with cancer in 2006. McManus told National Features: "Everything switched off. Then one by one, little switches would come back on - where I could feel there was a little seed of happiness in there somewhere." He added that eventually when he got together with Walton, they "expressed [their] feelings" and he started to look to the future. He also said that he found it difficult to restart his stand-up career in La, saying: "[I was thinking], 'Can I still do this? [Are] people [back home] laughing because they knew me?
