Fresh off the film’s premiere at the Fantasia Film Festival last night, the official trailer has arrived for Mickey Reece’s (Climate of the Hunter) genre-bending film Every Heavy Thing.

Horror legend Barbara Crampton is part of a cast including Vera Drew, John Ennis, Josh Fadem, Tipper Newton, and James Urbaniak.

Fantasia previews, “Mickey Reece’s distinctively absurdist humour has long left its imprint on Fantasia audiences through cult favourites like Country Gold, Agnes and Climate of the Hunter. With his latest feature, Reece returns with a pitch-black comedy set against the unsettling backdrop of a string of disappearances, with local women vanishing without a trace.

“The film follows Josh Fadem as Joe, an unassuming office worker at an online periodical who becomes entangled in a conspiracy after witnessing a murder. As a colleague begins to investigate, Joe struggles to conceal the truth, as his carefully constructed life falls apart.

The same appealingly anarchic, punk-scented strain of indie comedy that made cult favorites of “Repo Man” and the more recent “Dinner in America” also marks territory for “Rats!” Maxwell Nalevansky and Carl Fry’s debut feature is a sustained goof whose nonsensical progress scores higher for energy and attitude than wit, let alone substance. Truth to tell, the humor here is frequently at a pretty crass level that might induce mere eye-rolls if less deftly handled. Inspired by the DIY filmmaker scene that came out of Austin, Texas in the 1990s the feature centres on Raphael, who after being busted by an overzealous police officer becomes embroiled in the world of drug kingpins, ecoterrorists, mallrats, and proto-soundcloud rappers.

Set in 2007, Rats! Is set to a score of Epitaph Records bands like From First to Last, The Blood Brothers, and Thursday, as well as an original song by Ka5sh featuring Lil B The BasedGod.

The new "Twin Peaks" isn't slated to debut on Showtime until 2017, but a flurry of speculation about it happened last week with a tweet from Go For Locations indicating that filming had wrapped on the "first two seasons" of the series.

The episode count for the David Lynch-directed series was always in question, but that tweet suggested we'd be getting even more episodes than originally planned. Said tweet has since been deleted, so we'll have to wait to see how that pans out.

Improvised romantic comedy A Wonderful Cloud, from multi-hyphenate Eugene Kotlyarenko, has been licensed to FilmBuff for the Us.

Digital distributor FilmBuff has licensed Us rights to A Wonderful Cloud, writer-director-star Eugene Kotlyarenko’s feature-length improv comedy.

The film, which screened in March at the SXSW festival and is inspired by the real life relationship between Kotlyarenko and co-star Kate Sheil, will open in select Us cinemas and on all major on demand platforms on Oct 23.

South by Southwest, the multi-faceted film, music and technology festival held annually in Austin, TX will feature such upcoming films as Paul Feig’s Spy, David Gordon Green’s Manglehorn, Alex Gibney’s documentary Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine, and Ondi Timoner’s Russell Brand profile Brand: A Second Coming as headliners in this year’s film festival lineup.

SXSW runs from March 13 to 21 in Austin and is now in its 22nd year. Variety has details of the 145 films and 100 world premieres bowing at this year’s festival. Brand, as previously reported, will be the festival’s opening night film.

Other notable titles on the list are the Will Ferrell/Kevin Hart comedy Get Hard, a rough cut of Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck, the directorial debut of 28 Days Later screenwriter Alex Garland, Ex Machina, and a new comedy by Michael Showalter, Hello, My Name is Doris.

Through numerous incarnations in comics, film, and television, Batman has become one of the most popular comic book characters, with 2016′s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice bringing a new version of the character, and the Fox show Gotham exploring the world further. With the death of his parents at the hands of a criminal being the catalyst for Bruce Wayne’s turn into vigilante justice, the story of Batman’s origins have been explored in film and television a number of times, most notably in 1989′s Batman and 2005′s Batman Begins. A new comedy skit, however, written by Thrilling Adventure Hour‘s Ben Acker and Ben Blacker, explores the idea of the elder Waynes having faked their death, unbeknownst to Bruce. Mark Gagliardi plays Bruce, with Marc Evan Jackson and Paget Brewster taking on the roles of his parents, and John Ennis playing Alfred. The video can be seen below.

Fans of “24” may only know Mary Lynn Rajskub as the rather serious Chloe O'Brien. However, she showcases her comedic side with her latest project, “Play Nice.” The film is currently available for viewing via Hulu Plus. Fans of rock-metal-folk-comedy duo Tenacious D rejoice, for the D's newest work is almost here. The band's new album "Rize Of The Fenix" drops on May 15th, and in anticipation of the event, they released a promo video on "Rolling Stone" starring Bob Odenkirk.

Odenkirk plays Dr. Bill Teetz of the Tinnitis Institute, who, along with rock bassist Rudy Sarzo, examine the effects of the new Tenacious D album on Tinnitis sufferers. Symptoms include spontaneous violence, bleeding from the ears and tears of joy. Be on the lookout for Jack Black and Kyle Gass themselves making an appearance in the video.

Tenacious D were discovered by Odenkirk and David Cross of "Mr. Show with Bob and David," who later produced the short-lived Tenacious D HBO program, along with Black and Gass. Clearly, the relationship has not fizzled. John Ennis, another "Mr. Show" alum, is featured in the video as well.

Can you believe it? The ‘Marley & Me’ house is for sale! We all know the one – where Owen Wilson and Jennifer played in the big green yard with their kids and aging but adored dog, Marley.

The famed house from Marley & Me, which sits on 16 acres in rural Pennsylvania, is on the market for $1.25 million according to the Daily Local. It’s not just a house either, with a compound that includes four outbuildings and a barn. It’s all renovated, too, making the five-bedroom, three-and-a-half bath home nothing to pass up.

Who are the people selling the well-recognized “landmark?” John Ennis, a photographer, and Lisa Taylor Ennis, who plan to downsize because their kids are grown up. Guess they feel like they’re living in an empty nest and it’s time to move on.

John said the home still draws its fair share of fans, all stopping by to take photos.
