After a successful 2025 run, a sequel series to the 91% Rt BBC series, Miss Austen, is in development, with main cast members set to return. Miss Austen premiered in February 2025, as part of the PBS's long-running Masterpiece series, with four episodes receiving exceptional critical acclaim. The show starred Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard), Rose Leslie (Game of Thrones), Alfred Enoch (Harry Potter), and more. Rather than adapting an Austen book like Pride & Prejudice or Persuasion, Miss Austen offers a fictionalized depiction of the legendary author's life, adapted from a novel by Gill Hornby.

Deadlinereported that key cast members, led by Keeley Hawes, will be returning for a sequel production titled Miss Austen Returns. Gill Hornby just recently published a sequel to Miss Austen, titled The Elopement, which will give Masterpiece the material for its follow-up. Thanks to Harlan Coben and Netflix's continuing collaboration, we've been treated to a series of gripping adaptations that have kept audiences hooked with their mix of mystery, drama, and pulse-pounding suspense. This year alone, we've seen the release of three new series adaptations of Coben's books, such as Missing You, Just One Look and Caught. While it's unclear if we'll see any more releases on Netflix this year, there are still a bunch of highly anticipated projects in the pipeline.

Currently, five new adaptations have been confirmed. Netflix has already announced plans to adapt Coben’s Myron Bolitar book series, along with his novels I Will Find You and Run Away into original series. Additionally, Coben's mystery thriller Win is in development as either a series or a film, and his novel Six Years is being adapted into a Netflix original movie.

Beating Netflix’s (entirely unnecessary) remake of “Pride and Prejudice,” the BBC’s spinoff “The Other Bennet Sister” and French rom-com “Jane Austen Wrecked My Life” to the proverbial punch, the 250th birthday celebrations of arguably Britain’s most cherished novelist begins with a four-part drama focusing on her elder sister.

For many literary scholars, Cassandra Austen is a villainess of Miss Norris-esque proportions. After all, her deliberate burning of her sibling’s vast personal correspondence — only 160 of her approximately 3,000 letters are still intact — largely thwarted any attempt to further understand the famously elusive author. However, “Miss Austen,” itself based on Gill Hornby’s same-named piece of historical fiction, does its best to exonerate her reputation as a cultural vandal.

If you were hoping for more of The Couple Next Door on Starz today, we're sorry to say that the season is over. The finale was released last week on Feb. 21 with episode 6, "Crimes of Passion." It was a pretty anticlimactic end to the story if I'm being honest. But, here we are.

That does mean that there is no episode 7, as well as no more new episodes going forward since season 1 was only six total. Perhaps you enjoyed the show more than me, which is great. So if you're looking forward to more, the good news is that The Couple Next Door season 2 is happening. However, there's a catch.

I completely understand that adapting a beloved book series for the big screen is a difficult and precarious task, especially when you're talking about the "Harry Potter" novels written by Joanne Kathleen Rowling. The seven books, which span a couple thousand pages and covers the life of the boy wizard named Harry Potter (played in the film franchise by Daniel Radcliffe), are massive and chock-full of lore, building the Wizarding World brick by brick and introducing everything from wand types to wizarding currency to magical slang. Since 1990, Harlan Coben has become a bestselling author known for twisty crime thrillers and dramas that often involve exploring the secrets buried behind seemingly idyllic families and neighborhoods. That includes the Myron Bolitar series and scores of stand-alone novels.

Not surprisingly, there have been some adaptations of Coben’s works, such as Prime Video’s short-lived Shelter. However, in 2018, Coben signed a deal with Netflix which has since produced eight limited series based on his various novels. The latest, Missing You, debuted on January 1, 2025.

The Wizarding World is about to get a new wave of magic with HBO's highly anticipated Harry Potter TV reboot, and it's probably a safe bet that some familiar faces will be returning to Hogwarts, but in new roles than those which they previously played. One of those actors who has expressed interest in stepping back into the hallowed halls is Alfred Enoch, who portrayed Dean Thomas in the original Harry Potter films. The Couple Next Door is now streaming in the U.S., leading many to wonder how this gripping crime story ends. 

Based on the book Nieuwe Buren by renowned Dutch crime writer Saskia Noort, the British TV series recently released stateside as part of Starz's 2025 content slate. 

The series stars Eleanor Tomlinson, Alfred Enoch, and Sam Heughan (who helps lead Starz's beloved Outlander series), following two sets of neighborly couples whose newly forged relationship has deadly consequences.

For the first time in a long time, Richard Armitage will not be starring in the next Harlan Coben Netflix show.

Netflix just revealed the cast of Run Away, the next of the Harlan Coben Netflix shows. While there are a few who have starred in other Harlan Coben Netflix shows, including James Nesbitt, in the cast, it's notably missing a key player from many of those shows: Armitage.

According to Netflix, Armitage will not be in Run Away. Instead, Minnie Driver, Alfred Enoch, and Ruth Jones will star in the upcoming thriller based on Coben's book of the same name.

Regarding Armitage's absence in Run Away, Coben told Netflix: “I'm sure we'll work together again in the future.”

The plot involves a father, Simon, whose eldest daughter, Paige, runs away. Simon searches for her (of course!) but finds her high on drugs in a city park. The story does not end there, though. Simon thinks Paige is alone, but she isn't, and violence ensues. He loses his daughter all over again, and his new search for her sends him into an underworld that could tear their family apart.

But who is playing Simon and who is playing Paige? That is what you really want to know, right? Good news! We now know all that information.

Thriller author Harlan Coben signed a multi-million-dollar deal with streaming service Netflix in August 2018, which would grant the giant the rights to 14 of its novels over the course of five years. Since then, the deal has been extended as the adaptations, which were turned into limited series, have proven to be major successes.

Following the recent success of the latest addition, Missing You, Netflix has announced the cast for the latest adaptation. Run Away was announced in January 2024 alongside Missing You, and it will feature a cast filled with famous names. Per Tudum, Good Will Hunting's Minnie Driver will be joined by 15 other familiar names.

Netflix‘s next Harlan Coben adaptation has set its cast with James Nesbitt, Ruth Jones, Minnie Driver and Alfred Enoch leading the ensemble.

The eight-episode series Run Away follows Simon (Nesbitt), who seemingly had the perfect life. But then, his eldest daughter Paige ran away and everything fell apart. When he finds her, vulnerable and strung out on drugs in a city park, he finally has the chance to bring his little girl home.

“But it turns out she’s not alone, and an argument escalates into shocking violence,” a plot synopsis reads. “In the aftermath, Simon loses his daughter all over again, and his search to find her will take him into a dangerous underworld, revealing deep secrets that could tear his family apart forever.”

In keeping with previous Coben adaptations Fool Me Once and Missing You, Run Away will relocate the story from the U.S. to the U.

Minnie Driver, Gavin and Stacey co-creator Ruth Jones and James Nesbitt are leading cast on Run Away, Harlan Coben’s next Netflix series.

The pair join another 10 in the latest from Coben, as his current series, Missing You, dominates top-10s around the world and a year after Fool Me Once drew millions and millions of viewers.

The BBC released a trailer for upcoming drama series Miss Austen, with Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard, Line of Duty, It’s A Sin) starring as Jane Austen’s sister Cassandra, on Tuesday and unveiled a Sunday, Feb. 2 launch date.

In the U.S., the series will air on Masterpiece on PBS from Sunday, May 4.

All four episodes will become available on its BBC iPlayer streaming service from 6 a.m. London time that day, and the series will begin airing weekly episodes on BBC One that evening. While the drama is great, there is far too much going on in the six-episode series for anything to stand out, but the acting is decent and the chemistry among the cast is fluid. However, the result is a muddled thriller series that races to a convoluted end.

The psychological thriller’s first season aired in its entirety in the United Kingdom in 2023, but its first episode debuted on Starz Friday, allowing fans of the network’s time-travel romance, Outlander, to watch leading man Sam Heughan — he stars in both series — sport period-drama breeks and motorcycle leathers all within a two-hour span.

You know, sometimes you just want to watch a show and completely immerse yourself in something that doesn’t need you to use your brain at all. While chick flicks are the general go-to for such moments, I’d like to argue that the adult thriller is a close second, or maybe an even bigger guilty pleasure. The Couple Next Door brings to reality somebody’s wild dreams in the clunkiest way possible. The show is definitely intriguing, and it starts off pretty good but really loses its way in the middle to give us a rushed and almost unfinished ending. Yes, I said unfinished, but it’s not ambiguous, so no, you won’t be scratching your head; you just have to say, “Meh, just go with it.”

The first episode is definitely an establishing one where we meet the characters and find out where everyone's headspace is at. At the same time, of course the writers throw in some intriguing secrets and provide little hints at the struggles they're facing.

Even if you haven't had a chance to watch the first episode yet, you've probably seen the trailer and the mature-looking subject matter. It's pretty straightforward and you can guess why the show on Starz is rated TV-ma. This means that the series contains scenes not suitable for those under 17 years old.

Even so, you might be looking for a little more detail to see whether your older teens might be able to watch it, with or without supervision.

It's winter and so, so cold in many parts of the country, no matter how far south. We're all trying to escape the snow and wind chill indoors with hot drinks, possibly a fire, and the coziest binge-watches streaming services have to offer.
