Lucy Hale & Grant Gustin Headline ‘Puppy Love’ Movie Picked Up By Amazon Freevee

Exclusive: Amazon Freevee has acquired the Lionsgate movie Puppy Love, starring Pretty Little Liars alumna Lucy Hale and Grant Gustin, who is coming off a nine-season run as the star of the CW’s The Flash.

The Freevee Original film will premiere on the free, ad-supported streaming platform later this summer. It will also be available to rent or own digitally on its debut date.

Inspired by BuzzFeed’s viral 2015 digital series Puppyhood, Puppy Love was produced by BuzzFeed Studios through the company’s deal with Lionsgate. It was filmed in Canada last summer, with Hale and Gustin both posting on social media Aug. 29 that they had wrapped a movie together with no further detail.

John Cusack, Ryan Phillippe, Jacki Weaver, Rachelle Lefevre and Luis Guzman are all set to star in the true story suspense thriller "Reclaim" which just began filming on location in Puerto Rico.

Phillippe and Lefevre play an American couple who head to Puerto Rico to finalize the adoption of their new seven-year-old daughter, a Haitian orphan named Nina.

Taking time to explore the coast to bond as a new family, the husband clashes with an intimidating local (Cusack), soon after Nina disappears from her bed during the night.

Alan White ("Erskineville Kings") helms from a script by Luke Davies and Carmine Gaeta. Fredrik Malmberg, Silvio Muraglia, Brian and Josh Etting are producing.

Australia loses Reclaim
The producers of thriller Reclaim have shifted the location from Australia to Puerto Rico after Screen Australia turned down their pitch for investment.

Erskineville Kings director Alan White is set to direct the film written by Luke Davies (Candy) and Carmine Gaeta. The plot follows an American couple, Steven and Shannon, who are mourning the death of their unborn child in a car accident.

The screenplay originally had the couple visiting Australia to adopt an Afghan child, who mysteriously vanishes from their hotel room, but the location has changed to Puerto Rico and the girl they.re adopting is an orphan from Haiti.

Casting is yet to be finalised but Jacki Weaver and John Cusack are attached. Shooting is due to start in Puerto Rico in mid-October.

Steve Carell and David Steinberg Team To Produce Documentary About Comedians
Exclusive: They are among the leading comedians of their generations and both hail from Chicago's Second City. Steve Carell and David Steinberg have teamed for a documentary that will chronicle the evolution of comedy over the past sixty years through the eyes of several generations of comedians. The yet-untitled documentary, from Carell's Carousel Prods., is already in production.
