  • Was Audrey Hepburn's love interest in the Broadway version of "Gigi".
  • Moved to New York City in 1950 to star in the Broadway play "Ring Around the Moon" before later moving to Hollywood.
  • His mother, Mary Galbraith, was an Irish concert violinist. His father, A.J. Evans, was a World War I flyer who twice escaped prisoner-of-war camps and wrote an adventure book about it entitled, "The Escaping Club".
  • Made his London stage debut in 1948.
  • Was a Royal Air Force navigator during World War II who flew during the German bombing of London.
  • Appeared with his future The Young and the Restless (1973) co-star, Eric Braeden, in the The Rat Patrol (1966) episode, The Last Chance Raid (1967).
  • Has two sisters, Rosemarie and Bridget, and two sons, Nick and Christopher.
  • Decided to become an actor at the age of 12, after seeing John Gielgud perform on stage in Richard II.
