Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott’s collaborations are almost entirely contained to a single decade: the 2000s. The first four of these films made together came out between 2000 and 2008, and then their fifth, was released in 2010. It’s safe to call Crowe one of Scott’s most well-known collaborators, though the actor who’s actually appeared in the most Ridley Scott movies out of anyone is Scott’s wife, Giannina Facio.

Holding the world premiere of Ridley Scott’s “Napoleon” in Paris was a no-brainer for Sony’s motion picture group chairman and CEO Tom Rothman, due to the film’s French DNA and its subject, the famous French emperor (played by Joaquin Phoenix).

“Where else could you begin the worldwide rollout of ‘Napoleon’ than France?,” said Rothman on the red carpet of the event at the Salle Pleyel concert hall, where Phoenix, Vanessa Kirby and Tahar Rahim were able to attend thanks to the end of the 118-day SAG-AFTRA strike.

But the French theatrical bow comes with a downside for Apple, which financed the pricey movie and will now have to wait 17 months to launch the movie on its service due to France’s strict windowing rules.

The film is opening at a prime time, not only because of the holiday movie season but also just as the NFL will be preparing for the playoffs. Concussion follows Dr. Bennet Omalu, the forensic neuropathologist who made the first discovery of football-related brain trauma in a pro player and fought to bring awareness to the public. In his search for the truth, Omalu, a total outsider to pro football, takes on the sports industry’s status quo. His studies on chronic traumatic encephalopathy (Cte), prompted the NFL to take brain-related injuries seriously. Cte was cited in the suicides of former NFL stars Junior Seau and Dave Duerson. Ridley Scott will produce a biopic based on the life of television chef Marco Pierre White.

Scott, Giannina Facio and Colet Abedi have optioned the rights to White's memoir The Devil in the Kitchen: Sex, Pain, Madness and the Making of a Great Chef, Deadline reports.

It isn't yet clear if Scott will also serve as director on the project, which will chart White's rise to fame as one of the first celebrity chefs.

The memoir focuses on White's tumultuous early years and his success as a chef in 1980s London.

The 52-year-old - who trained Gordon Ramsay - was the first and youngest chef to win three Michelin stars. He has appeared on cooking shows like Hell's Kitchen, MasterChef and Marco Pierre White's Kitchen Wars.

Marco Pierre White is a chain-smoking, pot-throwing rock-star chef that is a legend in the world of food. He is the first and youngest British chef to win three Michelin stars, which he gave back once he retired. His memoir gives us an account of his ascent from a working-class chef to becoming one of the best known chefs in the food industry. He has worked with some of the biggest names in the business including Mario Batali, Gordon Ramsay, Albert Roux, Raymond Blanc, Michael Caine and many more.

The producing trio will be working on the film together with Ridley Scott possibly directing. He is currently helming Exodus: Gods and Kings, which will be in theaters December 12th.

No director likes to mix it up more than Ridley Scott, as evidenced by his plan to direct a sports drama about the "dangerous effects of concussions in football." Scott and his producing partner Giannina Facio are currently meeting with potential writers. If you could mathematically calculate a 180-degree difference between films, only then you could accurately describe the distance between a concussion movie and a movie in which Cameron Diaz has sex with a car. Or maybe not! Just because a movie involves traumatic brain injury doesn't mean it can't also be caliente.

The director will also be writing the script for the project, which is expected to come together very quickly. He will start working on the film after the completion of his biblical epic Exodus. That project is currently shooting and stars Christian Bale, Joel Edgerton, Sigourney Weaver and Ben Kingsley.

Ridley Scott will also be producing alongside Giannina Facio. He most recently directed the sci-fi film Prometheus and crime drama The Counselor. He also has a Untitled Blade Runner Project in the works.
