In an unexpected twist of fate, Hollywood played a role in shaping the journey of UFC’s newest middleweight champion, Dricus du Plessis. The South African fighter’s rise to the top is a story of grit, determination, and—believe it or not—a connection to an Amber Heard movie.

Days of Our Lives star Cherie Jimenez dealt with harsh criticism over her portrayal of Gabi Hernandez. Fans were used to Camila Banus, who played the role for 13 years. This can be a difficult transition for anyone, even the viewers. But that doesn’t excuse bullying. In a new interview, Jimenez addressed the negativity she faced on social media and warned those who compare her to her predecessor.
Loving her Role
For Jimenez, playing such an iconic character on the Peacock soap is a dream come true. She also loves the Latina representation that the show brings. In an interview with Woman’s World, Jimenez shared her thoughts about landing the role of Gabi. She first auditioned for the part in 2009.
Jimenez jumped at the opportunity when she first got it. She had no idea that Camila Banus stepped down from the role. “For this to come back around 15-plus years...

‘Days of Our Lives’ (Dool) spoilers indicate that Cherie Jimenez, who assumed the role of Gabi Hernandez Dimera in June, is a formidable actress. She took over playing the feisty Latino bombshell from fan-favorite Camilla Banus.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Cherie Took Over The Role After Camilla Banus
Jimenez recently opened up to Women’s World magazine. Being a soap recast is never easy, but Jimenez has found her footing. The fans didn’t exactly roll out the red carpet to welcome her to Days.
In fact, some fans bullied her online when she first started.
“I’m not going to sugarcoat it,” she said. I cried a bunch in the beginning.”
While Banus wasn’t the first Gabi to take on the role, she was the most popular and longest-running Gabi. Actress Gabriella Rodriguez played Gabi from 2009 to 2010. Camilla Banus was the next actress to tackle the part.

Mumbai, Sep 6 (Ians) Actor Mukul Dev, who is set to star in a film based on the unsung heroes of Indian football, says the sport has been his constant love since childhood.
Titled "Barefoot Warriors", the film in question is about the first national football team of independent India. "It's a very exciting project. Football has been a constant love since I was a kid. It's like a journey back to those times," said the actor.
"India has a glorious footballing past and it's about those heroes who made it happen despite all odds and even to the extent that they didn't even have shoes to play football. It's a great story waiting to be told on celluloid. We can't wait...

While Mel Gibson is trading yucks with Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell in Daddy's Home 2, his son, Milo, will make his leading man debut in a movie you'd more likely expect from his father: Gangster Land, a gritty, R-rated period crime drama about the rise of Al Capone.
Milo plays Capone, and the trailer, debuting here on Et, is chock full of machine guns blazing and dancing flappers, fedoras and mobster wheeling and dealing, all leading to a courtroom outburst where he bellows, "I'm Al Capone! You better remember me!"

Gangster Land, from director Timothy Woodward Jr., also stars Sean Faris (Pretty Little Liars), Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Peter Facinelli. Milo first appeared onscreen last year in Hacksaw Ridge, which was directed by the elder Gibson, but the 27-year-old nearly didn't get into acting at all.

The Liars found Mrs. Dilaurentis’ body and Mona went back to her wicked ‘A’ ways in Pretty Little Liars’ “Whirly Girl.”
Ali Lies To The Police
Ali (Sasha Pieterse), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Aria (Lucy Hale), Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Hanna (Ashley Benson) return to Rosewood after their disastrous run in with Shana (Aeriél Miranda) in New York with a plan: Ali will tell the police everything, including the fact that her mother buried her alive by mistake and that she has been running from whoever tied to kill her ever since. Once the police know about the ‘A’ that’s been tormenting all the girls for years, the girls will explain how Shana attacked them and Aria killed her in self defense. No more lies and no more hiding from the police – they all believe that Shana took over being A when Mona (Janel Parrish) stopped and that this whole mess is over.

Over the course of its nine seasons, Supernatural has built a rich world of monsters around the Winchesters, mostly framing the creatures in relation to Sam and Dean or their acquaintances. Watching how the monsters interact amongst themselves and how they co-exist in the same space, however, is a fascinating concept that the show has been unable to explore due to a number of factors, including the larger scope of the storylines already present. This week’s episode, which functions as a backdoor pilot for a spinoff series, works with such a premise, setting up a potentially fascinating show in the process.

Bryce Johnson, best-known as Detective Darren Wilden on ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars, has been cast in the Supernatural spin-off, Supernatural: Bloodlines, EW has confirmed.
There are no details on Johnson’s role, but the actor did tweet about a quasi-pll reunion, as he joins Pll alums and spin-off stars Sean Faris and Nathaniel Buzolic for the pilot currently filming in Vancouver.

Now that Supernatural’s planted spinoff is getting some steam, the powers that be have realised that Supernatural: Tribes wasn’t such a great name and have come up with something that more accurately describes what the series will be about. Supernatural: Bloodlines is the new title and I was instantly in love with it. What makes it so much better? Considering this spinoff is supposed to be about the various mafia-esque monster families running the underbelly of Chicago, Tribes just didn’t fit quite right. But Bloodlines? Now that’s a name that sounds like crime families pitted against each other.
On top of the name change, THR reported Melissa Roxburgh was cast in the spinoff. She’ll be playing Violet, a member of Chicago’s werewolf pack. She hides her true nature due to her forbidden love for family rival David (Nathaniel Buzolic), but when she’s...

Now here’s some pilot news that I’m completely comfortable reporting, because we Know we’ll see at least the pilot, even if it isn’t picked up to series. We’ve reported periodically about what the TV industry refers to as “backdoor pilots”; they appear as an episode of an existing series, and if they do well, they’re picked up as a spinoff series. Most recently we’ve seen that with The Originals, which was introduced as an episode of The Vampire Diaries.
The CW, who shows more of Our Kind of Shows than any other network, is becoming rather expert at the spinoff/backdoor pilot game, as they are planning another to air next month. Entitled Supernatural: Bloodlines (until recently it was going to be Supernatural: Tribes), it will air as the April 29th episode of Supernatural.

It’s only been a few weeks since The CW announced that its long-running hit drama, Supernatural, was getting the spinoff treatment and they’ve already renamed this possible addition to the fall line-up. Instead of Supernatural: Tribes, the pilot contender will now be titled Supernatural: Bloodlines - and we think it has a much more fitting ring to it.
Bloodlines will follow the drama of Chicago’s supernatural underbelly being run by various mobster-esque families, all while humans remain oblivious to this parallel world. The twist comes in the form of an ambitious new hunter set on ridding the city of their presence once and for all after losing his fiance in the crossfire of the monster warfare. The planted episode is set to air during the regularly scheduled Supernatural episode on April 29th.
