The Star Trek: Voyager documentary, "To the Journey—Looking Back at Star Trek: Voyager," has been a long time in the making since its record-breaking 1.2 million crowdfunding campaign which took place in 2021. Fans from all of the world showed their support and made Voyager the most successful crowdfunded documentary in history. Now, three years later, the documentary is complete, and the first screenings are coming up in November in New York, Los Angeles, and London. And there are still some tickets available for the New York and London events! In the meantime, 455 Films, which produced the documentary, has dropped a brief clip which unites Garret Wang [Ensign Harry Kim], co-executive producer Bryan Fuller, and pre-production coordinator Lolita Fatjo as they take a tour around the Paramount lot.

It's a bit of nostalgia as the three share a brief look at where Gene Roddenberry's office used to be and take the proverbial...

Roms Wife Was Almost Jake Siskos Girlfriend In Star Trek: DS9
Image
Chase Masterson almost played Jake Sisko's girlfriend but ended up as Leeta in Deep Space Nine, a character that made a lasting impact. Leeta's relationship with Rom, brother of Quark, continued even after Deep Space Nine, leading to Ferengi negotiating Federation membership. Deep Space Nine's season 3 saw key additions with Leeta and Eddington, and the arrival of Kasidy Yates, Captain Sisko's great love.

Best known for playing Leeta, the wife of Rom (Max Grodnchik) in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Chase Masterson almost played the girlfriend of Jake Sisko (Cirroc Lofton). Leeta debuted in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 3, episode 22, "Explorers", where she was introduced as a potential love interest for Doctor Julian Bashir (Alexander Siddig). Bashir and Leeta's relationship lasted for a year before she found true love with Rom, the brother of Ferengi bartender Quark (Armin Shimerman). Rom and Leeta continue to make a positive impact...

Star Trek: DS9's Leeta Was Named for Rom Actor's Real Life Girlfriend
Image
Leeta from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine was named after Max Grodénchik's real-life girlfriend, Lolita Fatjo, who worked on the show as a writing assistant and convention booker. Rom and Leeta's romantic relationship on the show may have been inspired by Grodénchik and Fatjo's real-life relationship. Leeta and Rom's relationship progressed quickly, with their marriage happening after a brief courtship. They remained together even after Rom became Grand Nagus.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's Leeta (Chase Masterson) was named after the real-life girlfriend of Max Grodénchik, who played the hapless Ferengi Rom. Quark's (Armin Shimerman) brother, Rom, and Bajoran Dabo girl Leeta made an unlikely couple among the characters on Deep Space Nine, who still found themselves perfectly matched. Leeta wasn't necessarily always destined to be Rom's romantic partner since Rom and Leeta connected as friends and co-workers at Quark's Bar before becoming romantically involved with one another,...

Star Trek: DS9 Was "Never Going To Go Into A Movie" Says Kira Actor
Image
DS9 was never going to become a movie like its predecessor, Tng, and the cast members were never given an explanation for this decision. Financial reasons played a major role in the lack of a DS9 movie, as the sets for the show were extremely expensive and surpassed those of Tng. Despite not having a movie, the DS9 cast would have loved the opportunity to make one and reunite in live-action, but it was never even considered.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine didn't graduate into movies, and Nana Visitor, who played Colonel Kira Nerys, says the series was "never going to go" into feature films like Star Trek: The Next Generation did. DS9 was the first spinoff of Tng, but the space station-set saga starring Avery Brooks as Captain Benjamin Sisko was considered the black sheep of the 1990s Star Trek franchise. DS9 wrapped up its 7-season run in 1999, and...
