Clive Owen Gets Engines Going at an Audi Party
Clive Owen at an event for The International (2009)
Clive Owen mingled with a few fellow British entertainers last night at an Audi event in London. He's home in the UK after a stint in NYC, where he worked on Blood Ties with costars Marion Cotillard and Mila Kunis. Being in the Big Apple also allowed Clive to check out some fun events, like the Belmont horse race and the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. Clive also welcomed his wife, Sarah-Jane Fenton, and their girls, Hannah and Sophie, to Manhattan for a Blue Man Group show. The family of four was photographed backstage with some of the performers in early June. Clive returned to England in time to check out Wimbledon two weeks ago. Yesterday's event, the launch of the digital showroom Audi City, gave Clive a chance to say hello to Thandie Newton, as well as singers Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Bryan Ferry. View Slideshow ›...

Nicole Kidman at an event for The Paperboy (2012)
Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen open up about sex scenes and relationships in an interview with W Magazine for their new film Hemingway and Gellhorn.

The film charters the relationship between writer Ernest Hemingway and his mistress-turned-wife Martha Gellhorn. The pair originally met in a bar before falling in love and heading to the Mediterranean to report on the Spanish Civil War.

The relationship between the two characters was passionate to say the least, and the film includes a number of heated scenes.

When asked about them, heartthrob Clive Owen cooly replies:

"Sex scenes are only hard if there’s no narrative conveyed through the sex scene. In the Hemingway film, the sex scenes have a story going through them. It’s part of who these people are and what they are."

During their tumultuous relationship, Gellhorn famously asked Hemingway for divorce after five years of marriage and inspired his...

Nicole Kidman at an event for The Paperboy (2012)
Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen strike a serious pose on the cover of W's May issue. They portray a married couple in HBO's Hemingway and Gellhorn, and translated their onscreen chemistry to the publication's pages in the sexy spread, which you can see more of when it hits newsstands April 24. Clive and Nicole spoke with the magazine about playing the historical duo, Ernest Hemingway and Martha Gellhorn, but also opened up about their own significant others. Clive even shared the moment he fell in love with wife Sarah-Jane Fenton, while Nicole got serious about her husband Keith Urban's recent throat surgery. Here's more from Nicole and Clive in W: Clive on meeting his wife: "After drama school I did a seven-month tour of Europe performing in Romeo and Juliet. I played Romeo. I was at the first rehearsal, thinking, I wonder what Juliet is going to be like, and she came in.

Clive Owen: All killer and no filler for Britain's quiet superstar
For his latest role, Clive Owen sports a moustache. It doesn't really suit him and so it's no surprise that when he turns up in a Toronto hotel room the day after his new film, Killer Elite, has just premiered, the upper-lip hair has been eradicated. Owen jokes that the day he shaved it off was a happy one for his wife, Sarah-Jane Fenton.

Kristen, Robert and More Have a Big BAFTAs Night
Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart picked Chanel to hit the red carpet with Robert Pattinson last night at the BAFTA Awards in London. The Twilight pair made their way past the cameras separately, but there were many other hot couples happy to pose side by side. Vera Farmiga looked radiant in her white Marchesa gown, while Claire Danes opted for Burberry - who do you think was best dressed of the evening? Prince William made a rare appearance to present an award, leading the procession of tuxedoed men. Kate Winslet arrived in England just a few days ago, and she looked radiant in her Stella McCartney gown as she escorted Best Actor winner Colin Firth into the press room. Anna Kendrick, in Pucci, stuck by Best Supporting Actor Christoph Waltz, and Carey Mulligan was on her own to celebrate winning Best Actress for her role in An Education. It was a big night for The Hurt Locker,...

Clive Owen always “considered being a father separate from work,” he explains in a new interview with The Scotsman. “I go off and make movies; I come home, and I’m a dad and I hang with my girls.”

Filming last year’s The Boys Are Back – in which he portrays a widower struggling to raise his children — forever changed his approach, however. “Suddenly there was this brilliant exploration of being a father that resonated enormously with me,” he reveals.

As for daughters Hannah, 12, and Eve, 10, Clive says they would like to do a little exploring of...

Clive Owen and his wife Sarah-Jane Fenton were in London last night for the premiere of his family-oriented new film The Boys Are Back. She seems to join Clive only for his biggest events, as we saw her last at the opening of Duplicity in March. Their girls Hannah and Eve spent the school night at home, but Clive did make it a kid-friendly evening posing alongside young costar George MacKay. Clive recently opened up to us about his preferred parenting strategies, though last night he was able to give his expert dad skills an evening off. Owen 'struggles with family-work balance'
Clive Owen has revealed that he often upsets his daughters with the irregularity of his working life. The Boys Are Back actor, who has Hannah, 12, and 10-year-old Eve with wife Sarah-Jane Fenton, said that he finds it difficult to balance his professional and personal lives. Clive Owen Says Daughters Fear His Disappearing Act
Jon Furniss/WireImage

Taking time off between acting roles has become increasingly important to Clive Owen as his daughters Hannah, 12, and Eve, 10, have gotten older. Noting that his time on set is often “for very solid points of time,” the 47-year-old Closer star is cognizant of how his absence is being interpreted by the girls.

“No matter how much time I spend at home, there’s always this thing underneath: that there’s a possibility I might disappear again and do a movie. Whereas most fathers, even if they’re not around that much, there’s a regular routine.”

Clive Owen Makes Parenting the Priority
Jon Furniss/WireImage On screen Clive Owen is usually cast as the dashing male lead, but at home the 44-year-old actor says he’s anything but. “My girls completely boss me,” he tells Parade. “I have no power in my house whatsoever.”

Proudly proclaiming himself the family “geek” and “so low-status…you wouldn’t believe it,” Clive says that it was nevertheless “odd” for daughters Hannah, 12, and Eve, 10, to see him playing a father in the new film The Boys Are Back. “I know they’re thinking, ‘Who are these kids that are around my dad?’” he explains. “But they seem Ok with it.

Clive Owen Opens Up About Playing a Dad Onscreen
Jon Furniss/WireImage In his new film The Boys Are Back, Clive Owen — a father-of-two in real life — plays a parent onscreen, a role he says was long overdue.

“It felt like I was exploring a big part of my life that I haven’t explored in my work before,” the 44-year-old actor noted shortly before the film premiered this week at the Toronto International Film Festival. “I am a parent of two girls and I’ve always seen that as very separate. I go off and make movies and the rest of the time I’m a parent. And this was a script exploring all that world.”

Although the subject matter was at times dark — Clive portrays a widower raising his two sons — the contrasting parenting styles of moms and dads was nonetheless fun to explore. “A day with dad is inevitably different from a day with mom,” Clive notes.
