Irene Fenwick(1887-1936)
- Actress
Irene Fenwick was born Irene Frizzel in Chicago, Illinois on September
5, 1887. She was predominately a stage actress and a fine one at that.
Her first film was THE WOMAN NEXT DOOR in 1915. She was to make three
more that year, but one in 1916 called A CONEY ISLAND PRINCESS. Her
services were, unfortunately, not in high demand. After A GIRL LIKE
THAT and THE SIN WOMAN in 1917, Irene retired from the screen. She had
made only seven films. She was much more comfortable on the stage in
which she returned. That work really meant something to her in a way
films couldn't. At one time she was married to the great actor, Lionel
Barrymore. Irene died in Beverly Hills, California on Christmas Eve in
1936. She was 49 years old.
