Marvel Studios is searching for a Latino actor to lead an untitled Halloween special for Disney Plus, Variety has confirmed.

The special could be based on “Werewolf by Night,” which would denote two separate characters in the Marvel comic book universe. The first, Jack Russell, debuted in the comic “Marvel Spotlight #2” in February 1972. Russell has a family history of lycanthropy — or the supernatural transformation of a human into a wolf — but uses his power for good, and is able to remain aware of his transformations.

The second character, Jake Gomez, was introduced into the Marvel universe last year in the comic “Werewolf by Night (Vol. 3) #1.” Created by Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas, Scot Eaton and Benjamin Jackendoff, Gomez is described to be a descendant of the Native American tribe Hopi who has been cursed with lycanthropy, also through his lineage.

The only problem is, there’s nothing memorable or transcendent about ‘good’ Super Bowl Halftime Shows. Prince and Bruce Springsteen each did about as well as a Super Bowl performer could possibly aim for, and both performances still boiled down to just 12 pretty good minutes from musicians whose fans have assuredly seen them do far better 2-3 hour concerts on other occasions. It's a harsh world out there these days. What with birds falling dead from the skies and the Black Eyed Peas passing for halftime entertainment, among all the genuinely disturbing political turmoil across the world, it's a cynic's anti-paradise everywhere you look.

It's also a flourishing time for network comedy, with shows like NBC's Community, 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation, ABC's Modern Family and Cougartown, CBS's How I Met Your Mother and Fox's Glee and Sunday night animation block (Bob's Burgers being the surprising new standout) all consistently competing for the funniest half-hour of the week.

As if Rihanna and Justin Bieber needed another chart to conquer, Billboard has given them one. The magazine has just launched the Social 50 chart, which ranks the most active artists on the world's leading social-networking sites, and the two pop juggernauts have landed at the top of the tally.

Rihanna and Bieber place first and second on the list, respectively, followed by Eminem, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj. Filling out the top 10 are the Black Eyed Peas (#6), Katy Perry (#7), Ke$ha (#8), Linkin Park (#9) and Shakira (#10). Other artists who made the list include Taylor Swift, Usher, Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Paramore.

For the second year in a row, results of the DJ Mag "Top 100" poll, electronic dance music's most accepted gauge of an artist's worldwide popularity, has leaked days before its scheduled announcement. The past few months have seen a number of Edm artists — from plucky newcomers to heavyweight veterans — campaigning vigorously online for fan votes. The magazine says half a million fans from over 235 countries voted for their favorite DJ. Here are a few key highlights from the results.

Cheryl Cole shocked 'The X Factor' viewers last night (03.10.10) by putting Cher Lloyd through to the live finals, despite her not even singing. Cheryl Cole will be "loved" in the U.S. The Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am, who worked with Cheryl on her debut album "Three Words", believes the "Promise This" singer will become a big star if she heads to America to become a judge on the U.S. version of "The X Factor".

The X Factor judge is set to release her first official book on the 30th of September, but fans shouldn’t expect a tell all autobiography similar to Dannii Minogue’s offering.
